Live Thread: Cavs @ Celtics (or, Game of the Year)

Tonight is another occasion that needs no introduction. It’s the Boston Celtics and the Cleveland Cavaliers for Eastern Conference supremacy. It’s an East Finals preview. It’s the Cavs last chance to even the season score at 2-2. It’s ESPN, it’s Friday night, let’s get it on.
Tip off is scheduled for 7:30PM Eastern time and will be broadcasted live nationally on ESPN, Go Cavs!
Mobley & Allen are not good enough to punish Boston.
If we were doing the thing where we made them look uncomfortable and out of sorts at least a few possessions I’d be more optimistic. But we are the only team looking uncomfortable at all. Would help if the refs gave us some of these clear slaps on the arm

I feel like you need a bigger starting lineup. Or maybe swap Wade/Hunter for Strus to start against the Celtics.

Mobley can’t disappear in these games. We aren’t contenders until he figures out how to show up on the road against the best.

This was prescient, it was Mobley’s best stretch of the game that finally put them on top on the 4th.

Cavs play defense slightly better than an nba all star game. No one pressures the ball no one gets into the face on main shooters. Tatum hasn’t been touched whole first half. He isn’t even working hard for his shots

Brown is a real problem. He’s big AND fast. Struts and Wade look outmatched (small sample size).
He is streaky from 3. That is why I’d put Mobley on him. Take away the drives, live with the 3s.
It is also why I’d be running my O to get Spuda 1 v 1 on him every time down to try and get that 3rd foul.
Good point. With the physical intensity of these games, everyone is going to get tired, even Brown.

I don’t think you should have both DG and Mitch on the floor together if Tatum/Brown are on the floor.
Not unless 2 of White/Jrue/Pritchard are also out there. Or hide someone on Hauser. Or don’t switch as easily. Hunter drew an offensive foul fighting over the screen instead of willingly switching.
