Kyle Anderson is questionable with an illness while Kevin Love (death of his father) and Rozier also remain out. Given injuries and the grind of the other series. Respect. I’m an optimist because we avoided almost all the ways a rebuild can go wrong (Charlotte forever) or half-wrong (Memphis, Sacto, Hawks) by showing patience and faith in the process.
There were some moves I’ve been off on so far (still waiting on a consistently good and healthy year from Ice, JB being a coach who could grow enough from playoff failure), but I also don’t doom about every challenge, especially when they are ordinary course challenges.

getting fired and hired elsewhere was the best thing for JB, not least because he does his best work with younger players. not clear if he will ever be able to coach a top team. he made a huge step this year, but he is lightyears behind KA.

It’s just good progress and the natural maturity of young players. Props to Kenny for the long leash and empowerment but he isn’t playing.
Garland, Mobley and Allen (and to a different degree, Ty and Okoro) have shown fantastic resilience in dealing with shifting circumstances, health and roles. Fantastic stuff.

I don’t think the fat lady has sung on this series yet.
It is kinda like the Knicks/Pistons series. The youngsters have mostly played well enough to win each game, but the vet team has been better down the stretch.
Only difference is the Rockets have home court. If they can win G5, and get something from Green, it is winnable. Or at least extendable.
It is really hard for me to root for any team woth Brooks on it. Not a big fan of Udoka, either. Dray on the othercside, though.
I try to just enjoy the skill on display (Butler & Sengun at the moment!) & ignore the meatheads.

The Hear worried me some. The games i Cleveland were close. G2 almost got away.
There were plenty of posts by NOMAD and buck and others about how things looked shaky and how the Heat were going to be scary
these guys are just scarred from decades of Cleveland teams not making it happen in the playoffs. also in the habit of not wanting to jinx the team by predicting they will win.
this team is different — they have a real good chance of winning it all. I would like to see how betting lines have changed from a week or so ago.
It’s just so different (and imo better / more fun) than the LBJ2 teams. They are great but also not nearly so top heavy.
