Playoff Live Thread: Cavs vs Pacers, Game 6
2018-04-27Well, it hasn’t been the easiest five games of LeBron’s playoff career, but tonight he has a chance to close out the Pacers in 6 games and take some much needed R and R. I say “he” rather than “they” because to this point, the King has largely ruled entirely on his own, bending the Pacers to his will and their knees and receiving little to no help along the way. Thus far, James has averaged 34.8 points, 11.4 rebounds, and 8 assists for the first round. He’d have more assists but his teammates are missing a lot of shots. Despite LeBron’s ridiculous numbers, the Pacers have been playing some tough D, holding the Cavs to under 100 in three of the five games. That’s about as much as you can ask when going up against James.
Oddly enough, the Cavs have been much better on the defensive end than during the regular season despite the two (and possibly three) games played without the defensive force of George Hill. The point guard is still listed as questionable and could very well not play as the Cavs have another game to fall back on if necessary. In his absence, Jose Calderon has stepped into the starting role and done his best to plug the gap. If the Cavs can get ANY sort of contribution from Love on the offensive end, Indiana will have a difficult time stopping Cleveland. Unfortunately, I think this game is destined to be another close one. Hopefully, James and his Island of Misfit Toys will prevail and close out the series. Go Cavs!
Blah. What was that.kev?
Cedi!
Is love broken? Clearly playing center is not working. G dammit lue
I would honestly play TT some. Let him set picks for Lebron. Love is not giving them much, other than some defensive boards.
CEDI!!!!!
Damn dipo went five hole on that pass
This is so hard to watch
Has LBJ ever made 20 straight free throws before?
Had he ever made 15 in a row?
Make up call there
Nice sharing of the basketball there!!! LNJ DUNK!
You feel good if the Cavs are within three to five after the half
Absolutely. Withstood the Pacer’s run. Regroup at the half.
Give the Cavs some of this kid’s energy

What are.the Cavs doing?
the usual. You?
Watching some really awkward offense. So the usual.
Doing my usual complaining about the Cavs myself.
Elbow to the temple
A bit of Cedi and Zz would work wonders right about now
That’s a bad cut on James’ face.
LBJ looks dazed and confused. Hopefully he doesn’t have a concussion.
Question for Lue: When has playing Cedi for a few minutes this season backfired? Ever?
I f’ing hate Lue
He’s a rookie and foreign, Lue ain’t going to play him in the playoffs.
Yeah, Pacers fan, that was all a flop by Lebron…never mind the face blood. Idiots.
Exactly.
James got hit in the face AND a knee-to-knee collision.
No foul, though.
Cavs offense is painful to watch. Yeesh.
That isn’t going to change with this team or staff. Pacers figured out how to shut the Cavs down. Other teams will copy them if we make it out of this round.
James hits a reverse-pivot fadeaway.
Dipo and IND bigs dominating.
This does not look good.
They are more aggressive. Getting more calls & lucky bounces.
They are facing elimination. It’s like the Cavs weren’t informed that they’d get Indiana’s best game tonight. The mental weakness of this team is staggering. I’m pretty sure it comes from the head coach.
Turner felt that one. Think there was an LBJ forearm to his jaw.
Pacers plunking the Cavs by being more physical
Cavs reeling. Feels like game 1
Nice mismatch read…. KLOVE again!
Playing like they’re up 3-0 and not 3-2
Since when is sliding not a travel?
Kev – you gotta start performing bro.
Awful call on Hood. Refs particularly bad this game. Maybe makeup for missed goaltend. Dipo hitting banked threes. This may be pacers night
BS call… no foul there.
Oh, and Green also frequently lets the defense clog the pain, because they don’t really guard him outside, making it harder for Lebron to drive. Green should only play extremely situationally. But I understand Lue thinks he’s Pippen.
Needed that one from LBJ.
Awful missed out of bounds on pacers again!!!! How does the ref not see.that when it is literally right in front of him?!!!
jR with a good look… couldn’t hit.
Great move Hood!!! KEEP ATTAKCIN!!
At least Hood providing some offense. Sabonis torching them again
And lance
Jeff Green does not help rebounding or spacing, or defense, really.
Pacers rolling on offense so far this game.
Wouldn’t Cedi do more than Hood right about now?
For sure but Cedi won’t get any run
Nah… Hood’s jumper is on. Why not both out there?
Clarkson just can’t hit an open teammate. Tunnel vision is too polite
Did hit nance.for the roll and dunk earlier. But forget it if the pass is anything but androp pass on a roll.
Nice Clarkson-Lance pick-and-roll

*Clarkson-NANCE. Oy…
One would think Lue would play Zz against Sabonis…
Wish love could dribble with his left hand, always goes right. Hood cannot guard bigs on switches……at all
I’m really tired of Sabonis.
I would love to have him
LeBron rest watch: A nearly 5-minute break there before he comes back in.
Disappointing that Pacers lead crept up
O NO….. KLOVE landed on that arm to brace his fall.
Love landed on his left hand/wrist.
Great love hurt. Broke his arm maybe
Oh thank god
WHERES THE REBOUND?!?!?!?! TERRIBLE
Offensive goaltending on booker
Goddamn Nance just catch the board. Don’t tip it. Then again phantom foul… Get the gd rebound. Don’t just stand and stare at it fools
Lance-cam is the worst idea possible — don’t encourage the guy.
Hood nice aggression!!! J good!
Larry, why swat the ball back behind you when you can easily grab it with both hands? Calm down dude.
Make a better pass Clarkson!!! KLOVE wide open.
Great pass Clarkson!!! LNJ FINISH!!!
For eff’s sake they talk about Stephenson so much for such a useless player. It’s unreal.
Hood is more of a 3 in my book.
Nance raining 3s
C’mon Hood… stay under control!!! Wide open lane.
Hey Clarkson passes
Nice mismatch read and KLOVE finish!!!
Finally: Lance on Love = 2.
Like Green bringing it up with this group.
Got crazy lucky on that Nance three and luckier off the pacer miscues off the bad Clarkson shot
Love over Lance in the post
Cavs came out flat, haven’t expended a lot of energy, and played sloppy, but made enough shots to stay in it.
Cavs going to have to clean some stuff up. Dipo looks to have his confidence back. That scares the heck out of me since we could barely win when he was having awful awful games.
