Live Thread: Cavs vs Raptors
2019-03-11We’re entering the home stretch, Cavs fans. The season is almost 80% done. Tonight the Cavs take on the For the Cavs, Kevin Love will play tonight, while our old buddy Matthew Dellavedova is in the NBA’s concussion protocol. Tristan Thompson’s sore foot is somewhere partying with beautiful women, so he’ll also be out. For the Raptors, Kawhi Leonard returns after missing a game due to “load management.” Kyle Lowry and Marc Gasol will start tonight, after some doubt due to the back to back, and the time share with Pau and Ibaka.
Personally, I’m rooting for the Cavs tonight, mainly because I want the suddenly surging Pistons to take down the Raps in the playoffs, for some Dwayne Casey comeuppance. Probably won’t happen. Go Cavs.
Late to this game, wow we are still right there!
Ibaka got three game suspension, Chriss 1.
So tonight: No Love, no TT, no Chriss, and likely no Nance.
Good luck to Zizic vs Embiid. Plus a lot of Cedi/Nwaba at the 4.
Since the ASB:
Cavs: 5-4 (5-3 with Love)
Celtics: 4-6
Lakers: 2-7
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Chriss should get 1 game for the punch. Ibaka should get 5+.
I didn’t see the punch tbh.
from the angle facing the crowd you see a sad attempt but it’s a clear punch. Though ibaka literally was trying to strangle him…pretty sure fighting for air is a valid reason to do whatever’s necessary
Sorry for the lack of recap on the biggest win of the year. Gonna be a two Fer Tuesday cap.
when we beat Philly on the 2nd night of a back to back…it’ll be as though you meant to do it
GREAT INFO AS ALWAYS JASON—-WOULD LIKE TO SEE IF POSSIBLE THE EFFIENCEY / USAGE OF CPT BANDAID WITH LOVE BACK—HE DEFINITELY PLAYS A BETTER / MORE AROUND GAME WITH KLOVE IN THERE
Agreed. JC is playing within the offense more. Dominating less possessions. Not hijacking the O. And being more efficient. Sexton & Osman & Zizic aren’t the only ones making progress.
For the record, in games Love has played:
1) We are 6-8 overall.
2) In games he has played 10+ minutes: 6-7.
3) In games since the foot was fixed: 6-4.
4) Since foot fix & 10+ minutes: 6-3.
Small sample, but with a healthy Love (no certain thing), this team is indeed a PO contender.

Buck your ability to have a conversation with yourself is impressive. I’m on the Zizic train as well…he is a giant with actual hands. That’s rarer and rarer in this league. And his defense has improved a ton with the playing time. As for this win, the raps barely showed up after exhausting themselves this week. It’s not indicative of anything other than the Cavs are playing basketball the right way and when any team, even the best several in the league, doesn’t show up with energy, we don’t just have a chance anymore. We throttle them. The playoff expectations… Read more »
My favorite part of this game was how Cedi was i think 2-12 at one point, but was still having almost a controlling impact on the game. He played solid defense, and his post game is coming along nicely. Put another offseason of work on him…i still think he becomes a borderline all star in a couple years.
Agreed. I love how when his shot wasn’t falling he was still doing everything else to help his team win. That’s what makes good players great.
i’m the only one who listens..
i said it when it happened.. the gasol trade was a big win.. for the grizz.. big marc with 2 pts !!?? that ain’t gonna cut it in playoff mode
didn’t watch.. but will chk the highlights.. pretty freakin’ good win for the homeys
and give credit where credit is due.. right here with your uncle buck.. big ZZZ is gonna be a stud.. heck.. he already is.. soft hands.. almost auto FT (as opposed to TT.. the brick-master).. gets his rebs.. sign him up.. don’t be stupid and trade him away (as amico suggested might occur)..
how the f*ck does chriss go 0-for??? how do you go 0-for when you are 6-f*ckn-10 !!??? just stuff the little spherical sucker in the freakin hole..
Amico = Costanza.
Whatever he thinks, do the opposite.
Assists/TOs tonight:
Cedi: 7/2
Sexton: 5/0
Knight: 5/1
Stauskas: 5/0
Clarkson: 3/0
—————
Top 5 playmakers total: 25 dimes/3 TOs.
That is ballin’. Vs Kawhi. With Delly out.
Sauce with 5 assists stood out tonight…. He can make plays with the drive and pass.

Canmot wait to watch. A blowout & a fight. And we still own Toronto.
I missed it! But Pau? I think you meam Marc.
Anyway, I saw SI redrafted the previous draft. Sexton was not selected & Mo Bamba still went 6th. Reminded me that canceling my subscription was a good idea.
Missed it too, dang it!!!! Looking forward to the replay, and the recap!
Cavs Big 3
Love 16pts/18r/2as 4 off reb, 4 charges taken, 1 touchdown pass, 5/6 FT
Cedi 19/7/7. 1 stl, 1 charge taken, 1 touchdown catch, 5/5 FT
Sexton 28/4/5. 4/4 FT, 4/7 3PT, ZERO Turnovers.
Plus plenty of honorable mentions for Zzz, Staus, Nwaba, Clarkson, Knight
Bonus points to Chriss for taking Ibaka out of the game.
And DAMN it’s nice to see this team play and win with JOY.
And the “Big 3” were combined 9/20 from 3.
Really interesting: the Cavs went 18-41 from three while Toronto went 11-39. Toronto went 11-17 from the line, and the Cavs went 20-21. The Toronto bigs missed a ton of threes (Gasol/Ibaka/Siakam 0-8). It truly is a make or miss league.

Every starter in double figures, Clarkson makes it 6 in double figures.
Can someone photoshop up and picture of LeBron and Kyrie looking grumpy and sad next to Love going apesh!t with joy on the Cavs bench tonight?
