Live Thread: Cavs @ Sixers (#GuessWhatDayItIs)

That’s right Cavs fans… just three more Tuesday games left this season, and tonight’s tilt with the Sixers has probably been circled on Philly’s calendar ever since the Cavaliers stunned them on their last visit 121-112… way back before Thanksgiving.

The wine & gold are coming off one of their best games of the season last night against the Toronto Raptors, where they gave rude flashbacks to their neighbors up north even without a certain #23. The dinos are probably secretly ecstatic the Cavs didn’t somehow wind up sneaking into the playoffs this year to torment them further. All five Cavs starters scored in double digits, led by Collin Sexton’s 28 and Kevin Love’s double double (16/18)… (we’ll have more on this game along with tonight’s game in the recap later). Love won’t be available due to my favorite new NBA designated excuse label “load management” on the second night of a back-to-back, and neither will Marquese Chriss, who will serve a one game suspension for his role in a weird tussle with Serge Ibaka.

Meanwhile, Joel Embiid is back in a big way for the Sixers, scoring 33 points to go with 12 rebounds in a shellacking of the Indiana Pacers on Sunday in just 28 minutes. It was Embiid’s first game back since the All Star Break, but it didn’t look like he missed a beat. The win moved Philly into a tie for the third spot in the East as they gear up for the stretch run to the playoffs.

Prediction: No Love and no rest for the Cavs should temper expectations for the Cavs in this one, but the team should keep it close until the second half when the Sixers deep-six them… 131-111.

Catch all the action starting at 7pm EST on FSO, and as always… get your Tuesday basketball fix below…
