Live Thread: Cavs @ Sixers (#GuessWhatDayItIs)
2019-03-12That’s right Cavs fans… just three more Tuesday games left this season, and tonight’s tilt with the Sixers has probably been circled on Philly’s calendar ever since the Cavaliers stunned them on their last visit 121-112… way back before Thanksgiving.
The wine & gold are coming off one of their best games of the season last night against the Toronto Raptors, where they gave rude flashbacks to their neighbors up north even without a certain #23. The dinos are probably secretly ecstatic the Cavs didn’t somehow wind up sneaking into the playoffs this year to torment them further. All five Cavs starters scored in double digits, led by Collin Sexton’s 28 and Kevin Love’s double double (16/18)… (we’ll have more on this game along with tonight’s game in the recap later). Love won’t be available due to my favorite new NBA designated excuse label “load management” on the second night of a back-to-back, and neither will Marquese Chriss, who will serve a one game suspension for his role in a weird tussle with Serge Ibaka.
Meanwhile, Joel Embiid is back in a big way for the Sixers, scoring 33 points to go with 12 rebounds in a shellacking of the Indiana Pacers on Sunday in just 28 minutes. It was Embiid’s first game back since the All Star Break, but it didn’t look like he missed a beat. The win moved Philly into a tie for the third spot in the East as they gear up for the stretch run to the playoffs.
Prediction: No Love and no rest for the Cavs should temper expectations for the Cavs in this one, but the team should keep it close until the second half when the Sixers deep-six them… 131-111.
Catch all the action starting at 7pm EST on FSO, and as always… get your Tuesday basketball fix below…
Cedi 3 then great play by Nwaba!!! Still in it!
Sloppy Sixers keeping Cavs in this one… along with Cavs tenacity…
Big miss on that three, Cedi…
Six point swing with the Redick trey…
Damn… one of those threes could have helped…
Lol… Sixers shot clock turnover out of a timeout…
amazing that Sexton went from tank commander to close games to now possible actual closer within his rookie season.
previous last 10 game averages.. big ZZZ 10.6 ppg.. sexton 18.5 ppg.. total = 29 ppg .. kyrie last 10 games 22.3 ppg.. waiting for your response Nate
I don’t understand why they’re playing simmons so high when he’s screened by bad shooters.
LOL….big play on each end of the court by Sauce, as it turned out…
Have to hack Simmons there.
Sauce with the…

Gonna have to get Sexton back in for some threes…
Simmons deciding to hit FTs for a change…
Oh, that call on Ante was garbage.
Wow… that’s only Ante’s second foul…
Interesting. Drew pulled Clarkson.
sexton and big ZZZ.. they are living up to the kyrie trade, just the 2 of them.. think about that for a minute.. they are young, locked up for several more years, and currently equalling (or exceeding) kyrie’s contributions.. freakin’ remarkable..
That’s cute, but no. They’re not exceeding Kyrie.
tonight = 34 pts.. i’ll take it
previous last 10 game averages.. big ZZZ 10.6 ppg.. sexton 18.5 ppg.. total = 29 ppg .. kyrie last 10 games 22.3 ppg
i rest my case..
Big sequence there…not good…
Clarkson trying to do too much.
Knight can’t finish two paint shots, lead doubled in a hurry.
This is around the point of the game where I’d expect the Cavs to be winded and tired-legged from the back-to-back…
Good point.
Embiid starting to take over…
Argh. Clarkson with a -5 point possession: missing a wide open shooter in the corner to go one-on-three which leads to a Simmons dunk the other way.
YOUNG BULL GETTING PRETTY GOOD AT THIS GAME ———–“STAY HUNGRY ” YOUNG BULL —-PUT IN THE HARD SUMMER WORK !
Bad turnover knight, could’ve tied it.
are you telling me the cavs are going to beat the raptors and 76ers on a back-to-back !!?? who would have thought was anything but a hopium delusion 3 months ago??
and no love against the 76ers !!?? outstanding.. with a little luck in the draft (and via free agency, and trades).. this team has the possibility of being a 45-50 win team next year..
Knight rhythm j!
Ennis is going to win at least one or two playoff games for the Sixers…

Not Boban’s best game. Cavs still hanging. Let’s shock these twerps.
Sexton 4-6 from downtown… kid can really shoot it
Why the hell are you going over the screen on Reddick/Boban? Just back off.
Sexton with a quick 9!!!! Wow!
YOUNG BULL!!!
Great shot Reddick
It’s insane how well the Cavs are playing and how poorly the Sixers are. Nice back door a minute ago for a sexton soft slam.

Sixers have 17 turnovers… Cavs have 3…
Ha! No nuggets for you Philly fans!
Great drive and finish cedi
Der Standanddunker…
Fry3!!!!!
CHANNING!
HAVE TO AGREE WITH EVIL ON OBJ—–HE NEEDED TO GET AWAY FROM NY / MANNING ——CAN SEE BAKER / JARVIS / OBJ LIGHTING IT UP—–IF BROWNS TICKET SALES WEREN’T ALREADY BOOMING THEY WILL NOW ———–GREAT TO SEE THAT FRANCHISE HEADED IN RIGHT DIRECTION !!!!
Refs letting crowd and whiney 76rs affect them. Cavs look gassed. We will need Frye to come in and make some shots
Knight screwed up a four on three.
This game isn’t being called remotely evenly. Cedi got fouled much worse than Reddick in first half and nwaba gets run over then called for touch foul.
Sexton 3!!!
Cedi 3!!!
Cedi just bombing away…
Bs no call on Simmons, but nice finish Sexton!
Ugh. Heavy price for a guy that I am not sure is worth it considering his contract or will ever be what he was before his gruesome injury. Peppers was really pretty good last year. Plus our first rounder and our second 3rd rounder. He used to be a top five receiver. Not sure he is now.
Peppers was good for exactly 6 games last year… OBJ is still a top 5 receiver… he just had a washed up QB throwing to him the last few years…
Maybe. Don’t think he is better than Jones, Hopkins, Evans, Brown, and maybe Hill (considering how dynamic the little guy is). Maybe a couple others. Last year was his first year back so we’ll see going forward. Manning being totallly washed didn’t help. Still I would have hooed for a bigger receiver in the draft. We have a bunch of short guys, though they did resign Perriman at least.
He’s still only 25…
26. But certainly he is better than anyone on the Browns receiving corp currently. I will say this. When Dorsey goes all in on a year he is decisive and not shy about cashing in assets. Hopefully they find a great tackle or guard in the draft to make up for losing Zeitler.
“News of the Beckham deal, which was first reported by NFL Network, had an immediate impact in Las Vegas. The Browns’ odds to win the Super Bowl went from 25-1 to 14-1 at Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook. Their odds to win the AFC went from 12-1 to 7-1, behind only Chiefs and New England Patriots (3-1).”
I have to think the other additions to the dline have a lot to do with that as well.
I mean, Cowboys gave up a number one for Amari Cooper and he’s nowhere close to as good as OBJ…

Not a ton to give up true. Just hope he lives up to the contract. That is a lot of money, though I don’t know how much is guaranteed going forward.
NWABA!!
Wonder if KLove is teaching these guys how to draw charges in practice… cuz they’re doing it a lot lately…
Cavs coming out strong this half…
Cedi with the hesi!!!
Great pass Sexton great finish Zizic!
BROWNS / DORSEY GOING ” ALL IN ” THIS SEASON —-HAVE REALLY SHORED UP THE DEFENSE —-I DID LIKE PEPPERS THOUGH
I only really liked him for the second half of last year though…
HEARD RUMORS OF THAT LAST WEEK—-DIDN’T TAKE IT SERIOSLY—HIM AND JARVIS ARE TIGHT
Holy cow… Browns just got OBJ!
Wow…. Mayfield gonna light it up
“PACMAN ” STAUKAS SLOWLY EARNING A SPOT ON NEXT YEARS ROSTER —-“JUST LET IT FLY “
How are the Cavs down six?
Impressive end of half for the cavs…they could have really ballooned that lead
35 point quarter for the Cavs… nice!
Sexton huge 3!!!
This game is really ugly.
Sweet feed, cedi to zz.
