The injury report sums it up, but apparently, the Larry Nance Jr. illness is more serious than just tankitis, as hes lost 20 pounds in a couple weeks. Get well soon, Larry!
GOOD SIGNING BY THE CAVS —ATHLETIC// LENGTH // WITH DECENT 3 PT SHOT ——MAYBE LIKE “HART ” JUST NEEDED MIN’S
Stocking up for the playoffs.
https://twitter.com/shamscharania/status/1380562211047890946?s=21
ALSO REALLY LIKE WHAT I SEE FROM ICE THE LAST FEW GAMES —REALLY THINK HE HAS SOMEWHAT ‘BROKEN ” THRU ROOKIE BARRIER —-CONFIDENCE IS GROWING—-BELIEVE THE KID IS GOING TO BE A STUD
SORRY COULDN’T JOIN IN THE FUN LAST NIGHT —-YES CAVS DID WHAT THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE ——IN MY OPINION THE MOST IMPRESSIVE THING WITH ‘HART’ IS HE IS CONTROLLING HIS FOUL ISSUES // BECOMING MORE DISCIPLINED// NOT TRYING TO BLOCK EVERY SHOT// STAYING ON THE FLOOR // JUST BEING DISRUPTIVE// HE HAS AN UNCANNY KNACK FOR PASSING —–WHAT IS UP WITH CEDI HURT OR IN DOGHOUSE ???
Think he has just been so bad that he is out of the rotation.
Stevens and Prince are better defenders and with Delly back Cedi’s ball handling edge isnt as useful.
Hartenstein? Who is this guy? What a weird mix of a player. I am still not holding out hope that he fixes his foul problems (though 2/3 games he only has 1 foul and 7 across those 3 in 70 mins of play which is actually an acceptable per min rate.
G-league stats were dominant last year (25/15/4 with 2.5 steals+blocks against 3.2 TOs on 69% TS).
Clearly he has shooting issues (mediocre FT%, poor 3pt % on ~150 attempts) but if (such a huge if) he can maintain a functional foul rate he can obviously rebound/pass/finish/block shots/screen.
Delly continues to be the most hilarious +/- player in the NBA. 70 mins back with an 11% USG and a 23% TS and he is +26/100. Oh and he doesn’t have an assist to TO ratio yet because his 22 assists are against 0 TOs.
Oh, he has one. It is just infinity.
Ha.
Thunder had guys out here who I never heard of so the result wasnt surprising…Cavs are decent enough to beat crap teams…think if Thunder were mostly healthy this wouldve been a close game if not a loss…the pace was super quick all game as both teams mostly jacked up shots
Would have been nice to have Love/Delly back sooner – really Love couldve played 2 months ago like 10-15 a game, but alas…two blowouts in a row…see how team does from here
updated EPM:
#51 Allen +2.2
#119 LNJ +0.9
#169 Hartenstein 0.0
#216 Sexton -0.9
#257 Wade -1.4
#264 KLOVE -1.5
#273 Cedi -1.6
#283 Prince -1.8
#288 DG -2.0
#322 Stevens -2.4
#348 Dotson -2.9
#373 Okoro -3.4
#378 Thomas -3.4
#398 Windler -3.8
#405 Delly -3.9
35 dimes. 7 TOs.
A 5 to 1 assist to TO ratio will win you the game almost every time.
Especially when the other team turns it over 18 times. Just a good performance.
Oi! We had 35 assists: Delly with 7. Hartenstein with 6. Prince with 6. DG with 5. Sexton with 4. IIRC.
Two in a row! Raps next. Lowry and FVV did not play today.
Pels on Sunday will have an extra day of rest on us. LNJ/Allen would be nice to guard Zion.
Raps have been cratering lately…
Good win, albeit against a severely depleted opponent. More depleted than us, even! That has not happened often this year. Trying not to make too much out of it, given OKC’s status, but….. Another really good game from Prince. 22 pts & 6 dimes on 9-15. He has clearly beat out Cedi for the #1 wing/sub role. Speaking of, DNP for Cedi in a game we won by 28. Not good. Another impressive Hartenstein game. 8/12/6 in 27 minutes on 4 shots. And a block. For a ‘throw in’ in a trade, pretty darn good. Another good Okoro game. Another… Read more »
Solid win against an utterly depleted team. Did what they should have. Good showing.
Hoping the Cavs somehow manage to keep a top 5 pick.. but hate to root for losing
Well if we’re in the top 6 odds we probably have a good chance of that. But no real guarantees unless we totally sit guys down the stretch. Love is providing a boost. So is Delly. Prince is back. If Allen comes back we could fall a little. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see some minor nagging “injuries” down the stretch. Or some rest games.
The schedule for the next dozen games easy easy. Only the Hornets have a winning record. And they are missing Ball & Hayward.
Last 9 games is nasty, though. We will fall back some at the end whatever gains we are making now.
Hart with 6 assists. Prince 6. Delly 7. A bunch of other people with 2, 3, 4 and 5.
Moses Brown reminds me of a young Javale McGee
He has athletic tools and frame. Haven’t paid enough attention to know if he was as boneheaded as a young McGee.
Ha. Prince on fire.
Seeing a lot more people cutting since Love and Hartenstein have been playing. Rarely saw that most of the season
DAMN PRINCE WITH 22!!!!
Ok bout time to pull the starters. This isn’t college. No reason to risk injuries.
Asked and received
HART TO WADE!!!!!!!!!!!
was wondering why Love was back in, seems to get his wind/legs back up to speed, he’s rounding into his old form certainly. Nice to see him and Prince working well together also
Also got him a double double, 11 rebounds!!!
DG STEP BACK !!!!!!!!!!!
LOVE TO PRINCE !!!!!!!!
Cavs looking like a .500+ ball club tonight
Love and Delly are winners!!!
Prince with some nice contributions. Garland starting to trust his range. Sexton super solid offensively
Prince back is big. Pro’s pro off the bench.
Doing what most teams should against okc active roster.
LOVE FOR THREE!!!! OKC VERY DISRESPECTFUL
OMG PRINCE WAS OPEN TOO LONG LMFAO!
OH WHAT A PLAY KEVIN LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!???????????
WHAT A PASS HARTENSTEIN!
Did not expect Love to do that, that was sick
WOW OKORO STOP AND POP?!!!
DG TO OKORO FOR THREE!!!!!!
Glad to see Stevens shooting that corner three — it’s a miss this time but no worries, his defense is first-rate
Stevens +5 in 8 minutes
Delly 6 rebounds 7 assists +12 in 20 minutes.
Yeah simply adding a guy that just moves the ball and hustles on a team that doesn’t move the ball or rebound particularly well always seems to give him an outsized impact compared to what he probably would be on teams that do those things well. Good fit on this team for that reason.
For are their virtues, none of Sexton, Garland, or Okoro are particularly good rebounders. Poor at best.
Sexton easy money
I’m loving Prince as 6th man idea
PRINCE FROM DEEP!!!!!!!!!
Damn. Cavs dominating as they should.
Sexton getting flashy in transition to Hart.
Delly outstanding rip, Sexton around the back, Hartenstein flush on the break, wooosh!
WOAH WHAT A PASS DELLY AND SEXTON!!!!!!
Other than Mykhailiuk not sure I’ve heard of any of ther other okc guys tonight. Chuckster would struggle if the inside nba guys did a “who he play for?” segment on current active okc roster. Are these dudes rookies recent second rounders and/or g league guys?
Guess I know Ty Jerome too.
Maledon and Poku are their developmental talent.
Maledon was pretty impressive, Poku with flashes certainly. The UCLA one-and-done center (Moses Brown) has some promise but who knows — he was tops talent in G League and New York City high school hoops apparently, seems indicative of OKC strategy that you would sit Horford just for Brown to get experience. Jerome also looks good in this game as a sixth man microwave type
Ahh didn’t know about Brown, yeah i knew about Jerome definitely a great shooter.
NICE TAKE SEXTON!!
nevermind totally got blocked LMFAOOOO
HART TO PRINCE!!! WHAT A PASS CUT AND FINISH!!!!!!
PRINCE TO STEVENS!!!!!!! GREAT DEFENSE DELLY AND HART!!!
Thunderous slam
Great pass by hart to cutting stevens thru traffic.
Awkward pass by sexton to hart, but worked due to size mismatch.
nice cut Stevens!!!!! nice pass Hartenstein!
NICE PASS SEXTON@!!!
dafuq, bad shot Sexton,
we may have a Lamar Stevens sighting with the Cavs up 18
Okoro trey. Hasn’t been too hesitant tonight. Hasn’t made a lot maybe only the last one, but has pulled thetrigger even with defenders in the vicinity.
I can easily imagine Okoro being a monster next year…
Man, no Cedi yet, which I actually am totally fine seeing. I’m fine with him as a player in theory, but he’s been actively harmful in recent weeks on absurdly high usage. Commend JB on letting productive players play.
Even in theory, he’s just not that good
If he can shoot 38% from 3, he’s a useful player. If he’s shooting 22%, not so much.
Problem is you have no idea what you will get. On some nights he can be one of the best players on the floor. On most he is pretty bad.
Yeah, he’s maddeningly inconsistent. But for the last month+ he’s been pretty consistently terrible.
Yeah the occasional good game is nowhere near enough to balance the terrible ones.
was checking him out earlier in the Lakers game, pretty frightful, too many 0-for shooting performances this year
Cedi still a good defender, no reason to not use him to eat minutes.
OKC has scored 6 points this quarter with 3 minutes left!!!!!
Well they are missing literally half their roster. May be burned out.
very polite of them to burn clock on their last two possessions of the quarter while being down 18 — feel the urgency!
OKORO WAS READY THAT TIME GREAT PASS PRINCE!!!!!
DG WITH THE FADEAWAY!!!! ISAIAH HUSTLE!!!!
little bit of talking afterwards with OKC bench, love it
oops the smack talking was Okoro-SGA or so it seemed
Okoro had the open 3, just shoot it.
Ha ha, that okc centers stance and approach after switching onto sexton.
OOOOOOO DG WITH THE KISS111
LOVE AND WADE DEFENSE!!!! Sexton blows the layup!!!
WADE CUT AND FINISH!!! NICE READ SEXTON!!!!
Damn that was such a great read by Wade and Sexton…. saw ahead of the help!!!!
Okoro missed the shot, but I really liked that move…
GREAT PASS WADE!!! Okoro just missed, be ready!!!
WTF???? THAT WAS A DEFENSIVE FOUL!!! DEFENDER WAS MOVING!!!
Sexton late on the pass to Love in the PnR… Sexton needs to anticipate Love being wide open on the pop… defender sagging way off on Love.
Love coming alive
Gonna remind everybody he’s an all-timer.
Better than the trend of reminding everybody he is an old-timer.
Old age is a bitch!!! LFMAOOOOo
Kevin Love goes full court for the three — OK, that was fun
LOVE WALK UP THREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SEXTON WITH THE SCREEN TO OPEN THE SHOT!!!!!
LOVE FADEWAY!!!!
Dean Wade is a good player. He’ll never be an All Star, he’s just a guy that you want on your team.
he could be an elite role player… he has the talent/skill/athleticism for it.
DG DEFENSE!!!!!!
WADE DRIVE AND FINISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DG with great defense, couldn’t pay it off with the 3 though.
he is really pretty good at shutting off passing lanes
DG and Love with 5 turnovers only thing marring some pretty good offensive stretches.
Defense was a tire fire… just total laziness, outrebounded by 5, Wade 2 rebounds, Okoro 1 rebound (offensive), Sexton 1 rebound.
