Live Thread: Bucks @ Cavs

Well, here are your Cleveland Cavaliers, fresh off a loss to the now 2-8 Atlanta Hawks. The Cavs stand at an underwhelming 4-6 record and face off against one of their primary challengers to the Eastern Conference throne. The Milwaukee Bucks’s record isn’t much better at just 4-5 but have not quite put on the same “How Not to Play Defense” clinic that the Cavs have. The first time these two teams faced off LeBron and Co. decided to actually show up, beating the Bucks 116 to 97. That was back when the Cavs actually played the slightest bit of defense.
Today’s Cavaliers huddle in the corner of the League with a defensive rating of 111.7, good for last. They will need to improve that tonight as LeBron’s successor, Giannis Antetokounmpo, looks to recover from their last loss to The Land. The Alphabet has been an utter nightmare around the league, averaging 31.0 ppg, 9.9 rpg, and 5.0 apg. That is an MVP quality line. Shoddy defense won’t bring it down any. This has led to some discontent within the locker room, which King of Social Media James supposedly is illustrating with cartoons on his Instagram.

Milwaukee will be feeling confident after trading the all but forgotten Greg Monroe and a first and second round pick for the maligned PG Eric Bledsoe. Luckily for the Cavs, Bledsoe won’t be able to participate tonight. Another bit of good news is that the Cavs have only lost to bad teams this season. Will the Cavs rise to the challenge yet again and bring their A-game against these Eastern Conference foes? Will the Cavs end up “Fearing the Deer” in route to another embarrassing bludgeoning? Hopefully the latter is true. As always, Go Cavs!

I am not sure what you do about Giannis, as I would be hesitant to double him with any of Mhiddleton’s or Brogdon’s guys. Maybe a hard trap initially and hope to recover. Still he will roast anyone we put on him if we just let him do his thing.

Man… I’m bummed about Crowder’s play lately…
IS THE TORCH BEING PASSED ON TO BOTH PLAYER ( LEBRON TO GREAK FREAK ) AND TEAM ( CAVS TO BUCKS )——THEY DON’T EVEN HAVE PARKER OR BLEDSOE YET—WE CANNOT DEFEND THEM —-GOOD TO SEE KLOVE HAVE A SOLID HALF—GO CAVS !—AM QUITE CONFIDENT THE ” MIDGET LAGENBURGER BASKETS ” HAS A GREAT DEFENSIVE SCHEME TO STOP THE BUCKS THIS 2ND HALF—–MOOD !!

Old guys not able to sustain effort. Still giving up 30+ every quarter. So far to go for this team.
Effort wasn’t the problem. Being unable to guard Giannis and a few guys hitting some tough shots was.
Weird second. Their D was really good at times, but the bucks got a lot of bounces. Offensively Cavs have to feed love. He is on fire. Rose is so one dimensional it’s incredible.
David Wood should do a deep dive on exactly how much Rose sucks…or has he done that already?
It was. I don’t feel they have played poorly on d. Actually from the actual contests and rotations, I think they played well considering some of our personnel. It would be nice if we could draw a fourth foul on Giannis early in the third.

Difference between this game and the first is Giannis actually has had a few guys knock down some shots.
The cavs are trying tonight for them. They have maybe three to four breakdowns and only a few lazy transition plays. It doesn’t matter though. Bucks are still torching our defense with what qualifies as a good effort from this team’s personnel.
Love brought it in the first half, but Crowder continues to give very little. Hard to see him play so poorly
He is getting torched, but no one can stop Giannis one on one save maybe a locked in Lebron.

They are right thus far. Giannis has gotten away with three travels and Mhiddleton has been played well but actually hit some tough shots.
