Live Thread: Cavs @ Thunder
2018-02-13A lot has changed in the few short weeks since Oklahoma laid a 148-124 embarrassing beat down on Cleveland on their own court. The Cavs have swapped out six old, tired, or useless legs for four brand new shiny pieces of what they hope is an NBA Finals roster. With the additions of Rodney Hood, George Hill, Larry Nance Jr., and Jordan Clarkson the mood has drastically shifted in The Land. Oh, and the Cavs won’t be forced to put a hobbled, overly proud Isaiah Thomas on the court.
LeBron is back to looking like he enjoys being the best basketball player on the planet and its lead to three straight wins, including possibly one of the best wins of the season against the Boston Celtics. Tonight should be a much better measuring stick for where the Cavaliers and their new guys are currently as the Thunder aren’t slumping and, as stated earlier, are fresh off of pummeling Cleveland in their last match-up. Cedi is still in the starting lineup and everyone else is available for this match-up. Hopefully the defense is much improved and Cleveland can get an exciting road win against a tough team. Go Cavs!
Can’t wait for this half time show to end!
Despite it being a bad matchup for Cedi, would try to play him just a few more minutes to see if it can keep LeBron fresh for the end of the 4th.
They can run the second half of the 3rd quarter with Clarkson, Hood, KK, Green and Nance. LeBron can get a good rest with those guys in.
I’m sure he’ll play, but he was having a hard time on George…and was getting picked a lot by Adams. No unexpected, bith of those guys are freaking men…
Pardon typos, on iPad = typo city…
Thought his D was decent & he has more points than Hill or TT.
He isn’t a point though, nor can he matchup with Adams. Maybe on grant or Anthony for a small lineup.
For all the recent hype about OKC after drubbing the Dubs, if the lose this game, they will join Portland, Denver, New Orleans, and the Clippers on 26 losses. Utah in 10th with 28.
They are not a gimmie to make the POs.
How bad is it that these guys make chuck sound like a genius.
Nance needs 14+ minutes in the second half. Hopefully next to LeBron.
main diff in good play was nance in instead of tt, the other is james slowing things down at times, and couplke really stupid turnovers
I think we also saw the lack of plays/chemistry with the new and old guys in two of the last three possessions. Hill/JR didn’t really know what to do.
No 30 point quarters…
At least we know Baron is wearing protection

Well, not bad. Decent d, helped by some overzealous gunning by the thunder. Bad close to the half. About three straight bad possessions where no one looked like they knew what they were doing, capped by a pass into three thunder players by LBJ. Still, not bad. I will take being up 5. Nance should probably play most of the minutes in the second half. I stand corrected. He did better than I thought against Adams, despite being dwarfed in body frame by the khal.
Larry Nance has 2 blocks already… I love that guy
+1…great motor, and he knows what he’s doing…
Some stagnant half court offense there late in the 2nd…going to take some time…I”d like to see Hill do some more driving…
Let’s see if the youthfulness of our new guys wears down OKC.
Not enough Cedi at the end there.
I do think he actually was getting roasted on d this game, not for lack of trying. Pg just a really tough matchup for him.
THINKING TY FEELS CEDI MIGHT BE A LITTLE OVERMATCHED TONIGHT —FEWER MINUTES
Thinking the same.
I think Green is a better matchup against PG.
George will clown a rookie, no matter who it is…
OKC bench is garbage… 24-10 Cavs…
Poor close. TO after blowing a 2 for 1 chance.
Still, largely positive.
Good half, crappy ending…
hope cavs run clarkson, osman, bron, green, and TT in the second half
Ugh. That is a pass, a true point never tries to make. Bad to by lbj
Damn. Terrible pass by LeBron. Leads to a three for Melo.
Bad close to that half… but overall some great play and energy
Zero idea what the cavs are doing those last few possesions
OKC’S bench “similar ” to the one cavs just traded away—pretty weak !!—-yes “DRAINO “–I REFERED YOU AS A BENCH PLAYER
Terrible pass by Bron…
Great steal by Hill.
Great D by Hill… great awareness
Steven Adams looks like a way bigger larger khal drogo.
Defense not perfect, but 600% better…
Cavs still shooting well… 56%
Nice hill drive
Every time I think the thunder are a threat in the playoffs I remember they have russ: the King of dumb shots.
Don’t forget Anthony, his brother in crime
Nah. Melo can shoot threes. Russ isn’t nearly as good of a shooter.
Sure but Melo also is or maybe was definition of gunner.
They really let OKC push off. Russ again.
Terrible transition D.
Lol. Westbrook
Bad miscue on that Anthony three
DOES ANYONE KNOW THE SCORE OF THE LAST GAME (OKC ) AT HALF—–JUST CURIOUS—
76-60 OKC…
76…almost impssible to believe, but I saw it live, to quoyr Aiesha…

Cavs have too much depth for thunder right now.
JR is in full pipe mode. Not half-pipe.
Green with a couple of extremely tough shots this game.
Harder to hit threes when you’re not wide open PG!
As much as I miss IT’s dynamisn and excitement, I prefer this group…
UNCLE JEFF!!
Like Clarkson’s playmaking abilities for the second unit and setting up LeBron and JR
Haven’t seen Cedi in a while…
Swish!!! And hood!!! Mario and Luigi, laying down pipes!
Green out Melo Melo, and LBJ with a deep three!
So glad they kept JR. Even more glad he’s on fire of. Late.

JR got his superpowers back! ??
BALL MOVEMENT!!
LE THREEEEEEE!
Good D by JR on Melo
Miscommunication there…
Hood = silk

Got to like the way the Cavs are competing now. By the way Nance has already surpassed TT effort in this game.
Nance kind of the difference for us. Great screens. Has boxed Adams a few times. Some good rolls, though he missed a bunny. A block on grant and great contest on a grant backdown of Korver.
Reminds me of Luke Walton in how he plays the game and how they run guys off his handoffs from the high post, but obviously a gazillion times more athletic.
DWADE 4 ASSISTS AWAY FROM A TRIPLE / DOUBLE
So refreshing to watch Nance and his effort…
Great ball movement. Hood with three treys
Great offensive play leading to Hood 3
Clarkson a gunner. At least he is making a few
” B -VELVET “
did you guys hear what I heard –all that talking on defense —-love it –go cavs !!!
Great boxout by nance on Adams! Ok he is playing better than tt against the bruiser so far
JC!!!
Clarkson needs to slash with the ball or take catch and shoot threes…then he is most effective…don’t like the off the dribble jumpers much…
