2021-04-11The Cavs’ bid towards a run at playoff relevancy took a big hit with a disastrous start against the similarly ranked Raptors, Saturday. The Raptors dropped 87 in the first half, and though Isaiah Hartenstein and the Cavs cut it all the way back to 12 after trialing by over 30, Cleveland couls bot overcome Malachai Flynn’s timely buckets and assists (20/2/11)as whell as Gary Trent Junior’s nuclear shooting (44 on 17-19, from the field!).
Despite Sexton’s 29/0/5 and Garland’s 19/2/8, their defense was putrid. Only Isaiah Hartenstein (12/8/6 three steals, four blocks) shined for Cleveland with defense, rebounding, a heady floor game and relentless hustle. Hart will be rewarded with a start tonight against the Zion led Pels.

Missing? Sexland. Collin is sitting with a groin injury and Garland tweaked his ankle. To be honest, I’m surprised Kev is playing on a B2B too. Of course Nance, Allen, and Windler are also sitting.
New Orleans is missing Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart, and Nickeil Alexander-Walker. I expect Zion to feast, especially after Hartenstein gets in foul trouble, but I’m excited to see Ice at the two with Delly feeding him. Should be an interesting one at the very least. Lets hope they bring the D.

Didn’t see it. But let’s not jump to conclusions. Let’s wait for the MRI. Sometimes there are nasty looking injuries that somehow aren’t tears. Rather not anticipate bad news. If it comes it comes.
But yeah I watched it. Didn’t look good. But dislocation of patella could be super painful too. Obviously that could easily knock him out for the rest of the season playoffs. And I guess non-contact so maybe dislocation not likely. Also dunno maybe a dislocation of a patella would be a ligament tear for it to be even be possible. Is an acl or mcl ligament tear come with dislocation or vice versa?
Where’s Simmo? And yes I know he is a pathologist or virologist or something along those lines, but that’s like med school too?
Yeah i was just reacting to what I saw, he collapse and grabbed his knee and was screaming in pain.
It actually looked an awful lot like Tony Parker’s injury where it might’ve been a quad tendon?
But he couldn’t even put weight on it… I just feel awful becuase whatever it is, he’s a key player to their title hopes. Absolutely devastating.
Hey there. Consider me not very useful for human conditions outside of infection – I didn’t study human physiology. I happen to know a bit about the knee though, as a distance runner I’ve suffered a few injuries & had a few operations on mine. Haven’t seen the incident yet – if it’s non-contact & a patella dislocation: Probably occurred through twisting with foot fixed on the ground? Is that what happened? This is likely to damage the medial patellofemoral ligament, which is one the horizontal ligaments that stops the patella from moving sideways. ACL, MCL are more vertical tendons… Read more »

That’s what I am afraid of. I mean it just looked really bad. But dudes have obviously come back from ACLs. Obviously he with any ACL tear would probably be out for the year and maybe some of next.

We all know injury is part of the sport, it just sucks when people who are in the form of their lives & really having an impact suffer this kind of setback.
It also makes what LBJ has achieved even more remarkable – a dude of his size & weight, so many years, so few injuries. Incredible.

Really a bummer. Nuggets are one of my ‘adopted’ teams. Freak injuries like that are just the worst.

Probably unrealistic, but I’d love to see what a completely healthy Cavs could do. Are they a .500 team? Are they even better? Love, Allen, Nance, Sexton, DG, Wade, Hartenstein, Delly, Stevens,… that’s a pretty solid nine. I like Thomas as well, Windlar has showed promise. Cedi can fill a role if he stays there. We have people who can play when they can play.
I think they’re just too young to be close to .500, even if healthy. Maybe 30 wins or so in this short season. But Love is a wildcard, so hard to say for certain.
I think defensively if everyone had been healthy and Dre had stayed locked in at that end all year even when Allen was here and was not looking for an out or the cavs weren’t looking to trade they’d actually have stayed pretty stingy defensively with Nance and him and Allen. With all of that I think they probably could have won a decent amount of games. Not a playoff team but maybe been in the running for the second play in spot. we’re a lottery team until we find legit NBA starters at the 1, 2, and 3 position. There’s upside with all three, but they all have a long way to go before we can call them good starters.

Cavs had their chances at end but couldnt hit a shot and that included Cedi and Delly throwing up shots that would get you cut from JV team. Love was great in the post game with his praise of Mark Price. Also amazing that Love is now 2nd all time Cavs leader just behind LeBron.
Also Love loves him some Dean Wade… They’ve been in his ear about shooting and JB says his defense is underrated, which I completely agree.
Also listening to JB and Love talk about last night, honestly sounds to my ear like Sexland got benched LMFAOOO which they totally deserved, but funny that they implied something only after the fact.
if they got benched for their defense Love and Wade should have joined them they were equally bad as them…i think it may have been more than that and DG was legit hurt but Sexton probably got the DNP – coach decision.
Enjoyed this one, except for the crazy Cedi turnover spree. Ouch. Delly passing was sweet to see. Glad to seem him back and playing well.
