Live Thread: Cavs vs Sixers
2017-12-09Sans Joel Embiid, the Sixers look to avenge their late November loss to the Cavs at the Wells Fargo Center. The Sixers are electing to sit the probable all-star center. Philly is coming off a last second loss to Brandon Ingram and the Lakers, Thursday, as Ingram drained a three with .8 seconds left.
Cleveland, meanwhile, lost a tough one in Indy the night before and are 1-3 on back-to-backs so far this season. With no Embiid, it would behoove the Cavs to go to Kevin Love in the post early and often. Look for the Sixers to get some run for Trevor Booker, who they acquired from the Nets for Nik Stauskus and Jahlil Okafor. Dario Saric is also questionable.
I was picking the Sixers, but with Embiid out, I’m going to say that Kevin Love avenges last night’s loss to get the win train rolling for Cleveland again, 110-102. Go Cavs.
what a game by Jeff Green. +25 in 30 minutes. 2 Turnovers/only 3 missed shots. 13 points, 2 steals, 6 boards.
So efficient. A season of mostly nice surprises so far.

Man… these Portland alternate jerseys are hard on the eyes they’re so bright red… also they look like they’ve been run over by a car across the middle… or that their some kind of weird ambassadors or something…
I got unusually excited when Crowder hit that shot. It was like when Rudy got the sack at the end of the Georgia Tech game
The Grizz scored 9 pts in the 3rd quarter of that game.
Dang, Suns had the last possession down 1 to the Spurs & missed. Memphis in OT after Evans split a pair with 1 second left.
Was searching for some good news on the Brooklyn pick. So far, Nets rank 26th in strength of schedule. Cavs are 28th. Here is the ranks for the dregs:
Memphis (2nd); Charlotte (6th); Dallas (8th); Orlando (10th); Atlanta (12th); Sac (15th); Lakers (18th); Chicago (21st); Phoenix (22nd); Brooklyn (26th); Clippers (27th).
That’s a lot of length… Giannis vs. Gobert…

Maybe one of my favorite stats about this game… no 30 point quarters allowed…
He is a HOFer on all four levels: athleticism, skill, work ethic, & understanding. The athleticism diminishes with age. He can’t play as all out as he once did. But the skill, ethic, & understanding remain.
It’s really cool to listen to how smart and well-spoken DWade is… I never really took the time when he was with the Heat (for obvious reasons). He’s absolutely an asset to this team.
Same. I was impressed from his first post-game interview with the Cavs. Can’t imagine the guy getting angry about anything, seems very centred, logical & good humoured.
After tonight, games played:
28: Orlando, Suns
27: Cavs, Celtics, Jazz, Spurs, GSW
We are near the top of the league in games played. With all the guys missing we have managed the heavy schedule well.
James scored or assisted on 25 of Cavs 27 4th quarter pts
He almost had a triple double in the fourth quarter alone!
Nets finally lose one tonight. A lot of the bottom dwellers are playing better. Bulls & Hawks & Lakers all on 2 game win streaks. Kings won this week. Clips won tonight. Muddled at the bottom. 10 teams between 7 & 11 wins. 8 between 7 & 10. Hawks at 6. Bulls at 4. Nets on 10 with the Lakers.
Good data, thanks.
Cavs now 9-0 when they hold the other team under 100…
Jeff Green +25…
Bench 48-27 advantage Cavs…

Beast mode on a b2b. Hopefully he can rest more on Tuesday
He planned it to pay homage to the 13 game streak. Why did he stop the streak at 13? To commemorate being down 1-3 in the 2016 finals.
Pretty special…

Wow! I wonder what the all time x/y/z record for a quarter is. Jason, can you figure that out?
Nice effort down the stretch — 3s from Covington and Reddick taken away.
Big shot by Crowder. With the addition of Crowder and Green, Cavs have a full squad of tough, tough physical guys: LBJ, Green, Crowder, JR, Wade.

Cavs allowed only two points (no FGs) the last 4:41 of the game…
Cavs win! See you Tuesday, James and Co.!
Pretty close on the score prediction Nate…
Thinking that myself, homie.
Great win, considering…
Cavs messed around early tonight but I love the passion with which both teams played this fourth.
Entertaining 4th for sure…
Cavs played a lot of bad defense this game…and some timely really good defense
Today is the day Jae Crowder truly became a Cavalier?
Hope so. If Crowder starts playing better, all the rotation level healthy will be fitting in pretty well.
IT, TT, & Rose up next. Lue talking about wanting to keep the bench together. Not a good omen for TT starting.
I vote yes! I loved the lineup at the end.
Does anyone utilize the bounce pass as well as Bron?

That is insane
Gotta be honest. This was a great fourth quarter.
Holmes only allotted one three a season…he’s full up…
The Jae crowder double figure streak is alive
Yeah… I don’t know why you’d have Richaun Holmes try to hit threes…
Wow That clearly meant a ton to Jae to knock that down
HUGE three from Crowder!!
Oumf!
