Live Thread: Cavs @ 76ers
2021-02-27Cavs Injury Report:
– Cedi Osman: Questionable (low back)
– Taurean Prince: OUT
– Love/Nance/Delly: OUTCavs injury report back to looking like a laundry list…
— x — Cavs Lead (@CavsLead) February 27, 2021
For the Sixers, Tobias Harris is listed as out. Count me in the group predicting a return to the Cavs we saw for most of February. The Sixers are much better than the last two abysmal teams the Cavs played. While I’d love to see the Cavs take the next step to beat a team like that, I’ll settle for a hopefully semi-competitive game, but a hard fought double digit loss. Maybe I’m wrong. Hope so. Go Cavs.
Wiz v Celts going down to the wire. Beal has 40+. Avdija has played 7 minutes: no points (0/1), 1 board, no dimes, 3 fouls.
Philly or Boston should’ve traded for Beal!!! LMFAOOO
Lakers dominating the Warriors tonight… can’t believe Wiggins is making $30M per year.
We won that Love trade. ;)
I was thinking the other day, for the heck of it, what if the Cavs went with Embiid that year instead. I really wanted them to draft him. But understood them being scared off by his medical concerns. Would they have still gone on to when it all at some point? Would Lebrun still be here? I think the answer to both is likely yes.
What if the Cavs had drafted Kawhi instead of Thompson or Rudy instead of Karasev? Lots of alternate timelines out there.
Oh I know. Generally I don’t bother with that stuff. The Kawhi one is the one of the few that does stick with me though.
SOME VERY GOOD PTS LEO AND AGREE WITH CLF—THE DRE THING ( INCLUDING THE ANTICS ) HAD TO DISRUPT THE YOUNG GROUP PLUS WE HAD THE TRADE —BRINGING IN NEW GUYS / GETTING AQUANTED/ FAMALIAR WITH THEIR STYLE // ON GOING INJURIES AND NEW PLAYERS —ICE / WINDL3R / STEVENS / WADE JUST FEELING THEMSLVES OUT / GETTING THE CONFIDENCE AND WEST COAST TRIP HAS ALWAYS- ( EVEN WITH LEBRON/ KYRIE )- BEEN BRUTAL TRIPS FOR THE CAVS —-DON’T THINK THE CAVS ARE AS BAD AS THEY LOOKED DURING THAT LOSING STREAK BUT ALSO ( NOT TRYING TO BE PESSIMISTIC… Read more »
Man, if we had Love, Delly, and Nance back… we’d see a lot more fun basketball!!!! Maybe it’ll make Dre want to play too!!! LMFAOOOO
maybe Cavs players read this blog the last week or so when everyone was ripping them haha cant figure this team out, and yes, I know 2 out of 3 wins were against crap teams but how did they have THAT kind of west coast trip and then do THIS?! its one thing to be young and inexperienced but that seems to be a mental/psychological extreme and I do wonder if the young guys were rattled by Drummond situation and were in a funk mentally. there is no other explanation. philly is #1 in the East and Cavs really controlled… Read more »
the Dre thing absolutely did… lost one of their best players and at the same time he had on-court antics that affected the game negatively.
“Mean” Dean Wade LMFAOOOOo I LOVE IT!!!!!!
SportsCenter out here low-key trolling Simmons

I CAN “DIG IT ” BUCKAROO –GOOD TO HEAR FROM YOU —-I AM ALWAYS ‘HYDRATED ” !!!
FROM READING THE BOX SCORES —LOOKS LIKE DG BOUNCED BACK GOOD SIGN —-ICE PROBABLY BEST GAME AS A CAV –( THINK HE IS REALLY GOING TO TAKE OFF AFTER ALL STAR BREAK—WHAT WITH 9 DAYS OFF TO WORK ON HIUS CRAFT // GET SOME REST )—-WADE MIGHT BE A LEGIT ROLE PLAYER// IMPRESSED WITH HIS 12 BD’S —-LOVE OUT UNTIL AFTER ALL STAR BREAK- ( SAW THAT COMING )—WHICH IS OK // GIVE WADE MORE OF A RUN
WOW …..”TOO MANY MORE BEERS PLEASE —BORING //PUTRID 3 QTR “—FELL ASLEEP —WOKE UP LATER AND SAW THE SCORE —-THOUGHT I WAS DREAMING —WTF HAPPENED
Nice article by Fedor on Delly, except for the fact he neglects to mention that Delly’s an NBA champion!!! Ridiculous oversight LMFAOOO
Just finished replay. Wow. Great defensive game by both teams. Felt like I was watching a game from 2003. So physical from both teams. Refreshing. Cavs bodied them up a ton, chucking cutters and rollers, hand checking, bumping in the paint, fighting thru screens, having a hand on rebounders, hands in passing lanes and in grills of shooters. Played hyper physical d and engaged and it paid off. This was not the same team as the west coast trip. They actually played hard nosed bump em around d and clogged things up. I feel like if they would have given… Read more »
updated EPM:
#26 Allen +3.4
#102 LNJ +1.0
#112 Dre +0.7
#223 Cedi -1.1
#236 Sexton -1.2
#240 McGee -1.3
#253 Prince -1.6
#293 Wade -2.2
#297 Dotson -2.3
#312 DG -2.6
#325 Windler -2.8
#345 Stevens -3.2
#372 Okoro -3.7
I think Wade might be a legit backup 4…. does a lot of good things like Windler. Above average defender and rebounder, offers at least average shot blocking. Shooting has gone from bad to slightly below average, and can easily see that improving.
Needs to make better decisions with the ball and continue to improve shooting… could see him stick around as a backup 4 based on his athleticism and defensive awareness.
Wade absolutely looks like a playable bench guy to me.
WTF !!?? 21st century schizoid team ? NOMAD.. you dig the reference old man.. stay hydrated..
Well, well! Pleasant surprise looking at the box score. Nice win!
Looks to be of the gritty variety. No one shot freakishly well for us. Sexton 11-27. Garland 9-24. Allen a pedestrian (for him) 5-11. Windler went 0-4 from deep. Only Cavs to shoot over 50% were Okoro (6-9) and Dotson (4-7). We turned it over 17 times. Shot 33% from deep. Embiid & Simmons had 66 pts on 24-39 FGs. And we won anyway.
Outrebounded them by 7 (Wade 12!). Forced 18 TOs. Curry with a stinker. Gritty is so pretty!
no surprise, especially with Wade holding the fort so far:

Another season, another huge chunk of missed time from Kevin Love.
He was healthy almost all of laat year, but COVID cancelled the last part.
Hopefully he’ll be good to go post ASG.
When is the last time a team won 5 in a row immediately after losing 10 in a row?
Who guarded Curry?
DG mostly
Wow must have been sticking to him
he did well, stayed on the court defensively while they subbed out Sexton on the final defensive possessions.
So, are we back to weighing whether to push for the playoffs, or to find a worse supporting cast to ensure the lottery? As someone rightly pointed out, Wade, Dotson, Stevens and McGee are a cut above our usual tank squad…not the Herculoids (yet).
Honestly, I cannot wait to watch the highlights. This team presents such interesting possibilities–would love to read an article on their All-Star break outlook.
Not arguing for PO push, but this unexpected win makes up for one of the road trip losses when Cavs were in a position to win and fluffed it. Somewhat starts to erase the abject horror I felt last week.
the play in tournament really has changed things IMO… they should go for it, one of the most important pillars of player development is playoff games. Get DG, Sexton playoff minutes, get Allen more playoff minutes. Get Nance playoff minutes leading a team.
I mean , we get everyone back and no more significant injuries, the Cavs could become a problem no doubt.
Nance coming back will be a huge boost…. so would Delly and Love, but hold out less hope for them just because of their age.
And yet, folks say this is a loaded draft. Does that entice us to sit out another playoff round to take a stab at a potential cornerstone player? Or is Sexland, Okoro, Nance and Allen five guys who can win a championship–not this year, but soon?
IDK, I know I’d rather make the playoffs than tank that’s for sure LMFAO.
I don’t think that 5 could win a ring, but anything’s possible!!!
What would you think of a three games in three days playoff for teams 8-15 for the last PO spot? Or, two two games in two days PO for teams 7-14 for the last two PO spots?
i honestly dont know whats going on in those playoff games, i last heard that u could still be in the lottery if u lose?

should be an offensive foul LMFAOOOOOO
“crafty”
man Embiid and Simmons had MVP type of games and still got beat.
DG with 42 minutes…… kid’s been earning his paycheck lately.
Sexton with 45 minutes!!!
Withstood a huge game from Embiid, vs. a truly stilted referee group, on the road, vs. top team in the East etc. Contributions from just about everyone in this game, including Delly from the bench. Way to go Cavs
Also feel like the stinker Seth Curry played deserves some attention
their whole perimeter squad got outplayed by ours… Milton and Thybulle are pretty decent off the bench.
So far up through beginning of fourth on replay and I don’t think the reffing was bad at all. The curry thing sure. Other than that for such a physical game on both sides they’ve called it totally even in my mind. Body contact is a foul under the bucket. Lots of body contact everywhere on both sides. Lots of hand checks by both sides. Really curry was the one foul thru three that was questionable. Cavs got away with physical play and so did the sixers.
great to see DG bounce back from that awful run in the 3rd quarter… that was huge.
Sexton showing some passing and defending that is too often absent in his game.
This might’ve been Okoro’s best game of the season.
We outrebounded them, Sexton and Okoro finally hitting the boards tonight.
They really stuck with it, deserved every bit of that win.
absolutely….. we witnessed a big one tonight!!!
Idk what happened during that west coast road trip cause this looked like a different team tonight and closer to what we saw in the beginning of the season
DEAN WADE BABY!!!!!! LMFAOOo
OK I don’t care if Love comes back, just get Nance back and run Wade with the backups, he’s earned it.
Among other things it looks like this game takes Philly out of first place in the Eastern Conference, now half a game behind Kyrie Irving’s Nets if I’m not mistaken. First round playoff matchup anyone?
I’ll take it let’s gooooooooooo
If the Cavs by some miracle win the lottery and take Cunningham, no way am I trading Garland.
HELLUVA GAME>>>> TEAM EFFORT
