Byron Scott, Unabashed Enthusiast
2012-09-19The New York Post interviewed Byron Scott recently about the Knicks. At the end of the interview, he had a word or two about the Cavs. He said he expected some modicum of improvement. Big expectations aren’t really his thing, and never have been. Here’s the link.
Interestingly, the article said that we were going to have a starting 5 all in their early 20’s. So that means Byron Scott is thinking about starting Zeller at center and having Andy come off the bench. I wonder how Andy is going to take that??
Dani I agree. And I believe until a until ANdy got hurt the cavs fully intended to try to get there last year. The 76ers almost made the ECF last year. How much fun would that have been if that was us
I know I’m way in the minority on this, but I think the Cavs are 8-seed contenders this year. Andy will be back, and we can expect improvement from all our core youngsters. Assuming even half-decent production from Zeller and Waiters, I think we have a solid shot at the playoffs. And I think, even if we miss out, that’s better than bottoming out again. Kyrie and the boys could use the taste of winning. Keep ’em hungry.
I fully expect an unabashed all D-League lineup and a slew of phantom injuries at the end of the season (probably the reason Gody is on the team), if we’re in danger of rising above the worst five. The plan is one more year of suck, and then go all Sun Tzu on free agency in 2013. We’ll be set up to be very competitive for the next 6-7 years (the prime Kyrie years).
