Terry Pluto wrote about the Cavs in his latest edition of “Terry’s Talking.” You have to scroll about halfway down the page to find it, but he says some interesting stuff. If Luke Walton doesn’t make the active roster, Anderson Varejao will be the oldest player on the team…at 30. Here’s the link.
“Tristan needs to be playing with Kyrie much more. In 2011-12, he played just 524 of his 1424 minutes with Irving on the floor. When he had Uncle Drew on the court with him, Tristan saw remarkable improvement in his efficiency. He shot a perfectly respectable 50% from the field with Kyrie on the court, compared to 41% with Kyrie off the court. Similarly, his shooting percentage in the restricted area (right under the basket) skyrocketed (59% with Kyrie vs. 46% without). Yeah, that was a good stat. If Tristan finishes the easy ones (free throws included), and improves his defense & defensive rebounding, that is good enough for me.
