Wine v. Gold Scrimmage
2012-10-06The Cavaliers played an intra-squad scrimmage Saturday, pitting Anderson Varejao, Tristan Thompson, Jeremy Pargo, Omri Casspi and C.J. Miles on the Gold team against Kyrie Irving, Dion Waiters, Tyler Zeller, Alonzo Gee and Jon Leuer on the Wine team. The Gold team won 52-44, despite a combined 25 points on 9-22 shooting from Kyrie Irving and Dion Waiters. What does this mean? Absolutely nothing. But it’s nice to see the young guns going at it in practice. Here’s the link.
Yeah, you’re right- I hadn’t thought about it that way, T. I was going to go to the game, but my bank ran out of tix before I got there. Looks like it was a good time.
You’re right T. I believe that was exactly the case. I think the structure of the team has changed significantly after Jamison and Parker left. The fight for the minutes will be different as the team is looking for a different chemistry. The scrimmage just emphasised that this season it will be “different ballgame”.
Smart team selections…Kyrie and Waiters against the Cavs best and biggest front line.
Thanks! That makes a lot more sense. I know it’s absurd to care about any of this, but I wish kyrie and dion had won.
Running clock according to tweets by media members. 4 10 minute quarters as well, we were told…
Unclear. I don’t see how they possibly could have scored that little, honestly. Maybe they played with ones and twos…high school pick-up style?
Was this a 48 minute game? The playing times shown in the box score add up to 48:00, but 52 to 44? It looks like only 57 possessions per team.
