In lieu of a post (keep your eyes peeled for my new Brews and Bruises, by the way) I figured I’d open the comments section to your questions. Â Tonight we’ll be podcasting post-game. Â Let us know what you’d like us to discuss and we’ll do our best to cover it.
Compete for a playoff spot next season? Man, they better be in the mix for the playoffs next year or something will be seriously wrong. Next year this team MUST take The Leap. I expect nothing less than 40-50 wins and a playoff berth. Hopefully against Miami.
Is Pekovic really a free agent this year? If so, what do you think of the Cavs going after him as the starting center of the future? How would he fit with this team? How much do you think he’ll pull on the free agent market? Is he too old for this team? I think he’s an intriguing option due to his size and scoring ability.
Will the Cavs compete for a playoff spot next season?
Well we recorded a pretty lengthy podcast tonight. Will be up tomorrow. We got to a few of these questions.
I agree with JNeids that we should keep our expectations in check with the new guys. Especially Zeller, considering he was the 17th pick and thrust into a starting role. That doesn’t mean we can’t point out when he has a bad game though. Dion will continue to have some bad games, but if they are occuring less frequently, that’s progress.
I think it’s time for a Bryon Scott article on his leadership. There has been so much talk about other coaches in the league such a d’Antoni and how they have lost the locker room. You have to give Scott credit on keeping these young guys in check. You don’t see Kyrie backbiting the other players like Kobe frequently does. Probably one of the most smartest thing he does is keeping himself available to the media. He often is interviewed before and after games and he has his own talk show. It’s funny as a fan sometimes you get mad… Read more »
Read that Cols714. It was pretty good! So far I like how Livingston is playing for us. He is so much smarter than Sloan and Pargo was. It shows in the second unit. I do like Scott allows them to play together for a little bit each game. Very intriguing.
What would be least the Cavs should get back for AV in a trade? What would be acceptable? And who would the best candidates be for a trade partner(s)?
How bout coach Scott. Now that he’s got a couple bench players, he’s winning some games. Looks like the players are developing well under his guidance. Mallory and Nate still hating on him?
by the way, the Cavs have already extended his contract so he will be around next season
Perhaps you can discuss Gee. What is he now? Has he regressed? Does he have a future spot on the team?
Does Andy’s blood clot decrease other team’s interest in him? In other words, is that a problem that can be recurring and might scare away potential suitors? Also, why do we insist on placing unrealistic, way too lofty goals on rookies? It’s not good for them or us. Did we really expect Waiters to become Wade 2.0 in his first year? Did we really expect Zeller to be a competent starting center in year one? I understand the impatience, and I understand the want/need to analyze their every game or move and try to extrapolate it to determine what they… Read more »
Something my friends/family have been debating the past couple of weeks – should the Cavs be tanking right now in hopes of getting Shabazz in the draft, or should they still be trying to win games?
In other news, there is a fantastic article about Livingston’s injury over at Grantland.

That is a fantastic article. Good work, Cols
Over the next year or two do you see the Cavs being able to add an all star caliber player to the roster (whether through trade, signing, draft) If they land someone, do you see Dion Waiters ever embracing the Manu/OKC James Harden role?
Would the Cavs be better off spending big money on a FA center like Pekovic or Jefferson, or drafting one like Noel (assuming they are position to) and waiting for him to develop?
Would resigning Speights allow the Cavs to trade Anderson Varejao without creating a hole in the roster? Provided Speights does continue his current production.
Cooley Ford FTW! We’ll try our best to touch on all these topics. Some may be a little bigger than 45 minutes or so can handle, but I know we’re all eager to touch on ’em.
Which free agents should the Cavs target this summer? This includes players who are on the team right now.
Which free agents should the Cavs avoid?
Do you guys think that the Cavs are going to try to make any decent free agent signings in the offseason? If so, who do you think they might target? We need a center, bad. Do you think that Greg Oden would work out if we signed him? If he comes back, and is able to stay relatively healthy, how much do you think it would take to keep him on post-2014? Are there any links that show who owes the cavs what draft picks over the next few years? Who do you think the cavs might try to trade… Read more »
