2013-04-20Mark Price: “I would definitely be interested in the job, but they have not contacted me.” [Brendan Bowers called Mark Price. I’m not sure I could be more jealous. Well done, dude.]
“Sure, Grant has four draft selections at his disposal, two of which are in the top 17, but overall youth has been a crutch for three seasons. Not helping matters is the fact that the veteran leadership presently on the roster—Luke Walton, Wayne Ellington, Boobie Gibson—are staring at free agency and may make the overall roster even younger with any sort of departure.” [Scott at WFNY]
“That could change soon. WKYC-TV 3 reported that Brown will have dinner with Cavs majority owner Dan Gilbert on Sunday.” [Bob Finnan – News Herald]
“Among the teams at the bottom of the NBA that won 35 games or less this season, the Cavs are among the franchises best positioned for a turnaround.” [Jason Lloyd – Akron Beacon Journal]
I’m hoping for a sexier name than Mike Brown, to be sure. And if we hire him without giving others a real chance, I’ll be dissappointed. But if my options going into next season were Mike Brown or Byron Scott, I gotta go with Mike Brown in a landslide. Byron’s success can be attributed to his players just as much as Brown’s, but his success is ancient history (in sports time) and we need to show the players some accountability. And after our recent history, some fresh perspective and a new voice in the players ears (outside of Varajoa, he’s… Read more »

You didn’t know that Versus is really Sam Amico?
Vesus, how do you have so much inside information about who’s pulling the strings in the Cavs organization?
Mark Price was an awesome shooting point guard – dude could probably still out- shoot most NBA players from beyond the arc & at the stripe – one of my favorite Cavaliers of all time – right there with AC, Bingo, Campy, World B, Brad D, Larry N. & Kyrie. Brown would bring back good defensive fundamentals cuz Cavs aren’t going anywhere till they start stopping the other team…
Someone needs to explain to Dan Gilbert that you can’t play basketball like the bad boy pistons in the league anymore. Not with the way bumps are considered flagrant fouls. Secondly why does Brown even have a shot. This is just freaking stupid and I’m not happy about it.
I’d rather have Brown than Price by a mile.
It isn’t necessarily that he is controlling the whole thing. Grant and Brown are good friends. It makes sense the owner would take the lead, especially if money is being discussed
Looks like Gilbert has completely taken control of the coaching search. Not that it’s an actual search since Mike Brown appears to have the job already.
Nice work Dan. Just resign mo Williams and Jamison and we will be right back to the glory days. Lol
It’s more than just a “CAVALIERS 4 LYFE” thing, the man has a solid resume and looks like a solid first-time head coaching candidate as any:

Zodiac cipher…
Honestly if you add a couple solid pieces to this team and they can become a middle of the pack or better defensive team they should be able to contend for the playoffs next year. I get that they’re young, but the East is dog shit. It’s not like the new coach has to solve cipher.
Catch us up a little on Price. Where has he coached and ect. ? Yea I know he was a Cav years ago.
