I had the opportunity to visit my friend Mark Neal in studio again this week. We talked about the Kevin Love situation at length. Give it a listen.
Don’t forget to check out (and comment on) Ben’s recap.
Just had a chance to listen to this, very well done. If only all sports talk radio could be that good, rather than the dreck it mostly is. Also just read Tom’s (or Tom and company) article on Love. That was amazing. One of the best thing ever published here, and you guys have published a lot of good content. I would dare say that it is a better piece than anything published at ESPN over the last year, outside of Zach Lowe’s stuff. Well done!
Thank you MikeO! I’ll be on the radio today from 5-6 EST. You can listen live here; http://wingam.com/listen
Thanks Tom! That was perfect for the morning coffee. Your stats on the Love picture were appreciated in your earlier blog and glad to hear it go out on the airwaves. Go Cavs!
Really enjoyable sports radio, which is a rarity anywhere. That medium is just as bad, if not worse than the page view spam. I was kind of livid a week ago listening to 1100. The Cavs have the most talented team in their history and have a legit shot at bringing Clevelanders their first title in 51 years, and the Indians are primed to contend for the pennant, but the slobs couldn’t stop talking about Jimmy Haslem. I don’t see love leaving. He’s been honest for years, whether it being pissed he wasn’t offered a max contract to wanting out… Read more »
Much of the talk about where Love is going seems to come from NY and LA, and there is no reason to think it is anything buy wishful thinking. Unless you really love the bright lights, any top player would be nuts to go to LAL or NYK.
Completely agree. One he’s not going back West. He’s burned 6 years there and it got him no where. This title or he leaves talk is hilarious. It’s kind of the rumors that Durant is leaving. He’s never going to have a better basketball situation than he currently has. Love probably won’t either.
Absolutely right. And who here thinks Blatt WON’T figure out a better scheme for him next year. It’s hard to imagine, but this year is actually the warm-up. No way Love leaves this kind of opportunity. It’s preposterous.
I’ve assumed from the rip that Love’s roll would grow as LeBron’s prime fads a little year by year and it becomes more Love and Irving’s team.. As Tom thoroughly showed, Love fits. He’s also had physical limitations this year.
Yeah I can’t stand the Browns radio talk. It’s non-stop… I’m tired of the “This is a Browns town” mantra. It just seems like people want to complain about something, which is easy to do with the Clowns and relive nostalgia from the 80s and early 90s. They’re also obsessed with talking about the stupid draft every year from November until whenever the draft is…As soon as that crude comes on I immediately change the station.
I just watched this.
You should too.

Makes me dizzy!
That was amazing, Tom. We’re soooo lucky to have this guy on our team. Watching the video makes me wish we could just skip to the Cavs-Warriors finals and enjoy the Kyrie-Steph duels. Gonna be epic.
Thanks Pouch. Some of the inspiration for that was a comment JoeyB left on my KLove article.
It is disingenuous that some of the comments elicit horror and “fascination” and others are ignored or assumed to be lip service.
I’m really enjoying these Tom. Great analysis. And I appreciated your point about the media cherrypicking Love’s comments. Listening to Love, he’s likely being candid about his MVP pick, his relationship with Lebron, and where he wants to be next year.
Ok listened to the first 12 minutes. Nice job.
Thanks Col. Although if you are only going to listen to a portion I’d recommend the end – i thought it was better
OK I’ll get to it
I haven’t listened. But love us not leaving. No player has ever left a team that can both offer
1. Most money
2. Best chance to win.
