Breaking News: Kevin Love Has Shoulder Surgery; Projected Recovery Time 4-6 Months

Here is the official team press release that just went out…
Cavaliers forward Kevin Love underwent successful surgery this afternoon at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City to repair his dislocated left shoulder. The surgery was performed by Dr. David W. Altchek. Continuing treatment and rehabilitation at Cleveland Clinic Courts and Cleveland Clinic Sports Health will be conducted by the Cavaliers’ medical staff and Head Team Physician Dr. Richard D. Parker. His projected recovery time is four to six months.
While this certainly provides a concrete answer to whether or not there would be a glimmer of hope for a return of the Cavs’ forward late in the post-season, it no doubt will raise many new questions about his impending decisions regarding free agency this summer. Love can still opt in to the final year of his existing contract with the Cavaliers. It will be interesting to see how things progress.
The timeframe could also potentially put Love’s availability to begin next season in doubt regardless of his contract situation.
In the meantime, all our best at C:tB go out to Kevin for a speedy recovery.

Olynyk is a piece of garbage and I hope other NBA players treat him like a dog for this cheap shot. He needs to get kicked around the league until he puts his tail between his legs and heads to China.
Love told Wolves he wasn’t staying and he got traded per his request. He thought enough of the organization for them to make trades so he could get replaced somewhat. He’s a straight shooter. So why wouldn’t he give the same courtesy to Cavs if he intended to leave.? Why? Because he is staying. He has repeatedly said to the media and Cavs that he is staying. We should believe him. There is so much talent and opportunity here for him than any other NBA team.
Agree. Love posted a post-surgery tweet this morning – he was wearing a Cleveland Indians “C” lid. Dude is staying.
Love can’t “SAY” that he’s staying even if he fully intends to because it messes up his bargaining position. So don’t get freaked out (like the media does) if he doesn’t come out and say he’s returning. Making that statement can cost him several million dollars.
But of course he’s staying.

The CAVS should resign Perk next year just to beat the hell out of Olynyk every time we face him. He will probably get suspended several games but it’s worth it.
How do you make a “Get Well Soon” card big enough for the whole city of Cleveland to sign? Or is that not a thing?
I just hope they don’t sing another song to convince him to stay. That will make me want to puke. Unless he demands it then yes sing away.
I don’t know if he’ll know how much we hurt for him and wish him well. He really earned my respect this year. I wish him the best and hope he’s on the floor with the Cavs next year.

It also means LBJs usage goes WAY up. And that’s not something I’m exactly excited about considering I’m planning on LBJ making the finals for like 8 straight years. That’s a lot of mileage.

No surprise, to me. What a bad break, though. Celitcs should have to give us Tyler Zeller back for the rest of the playoffs.
