Well, we finally broke up our ridiculous podcasts into two ridiculous podcasts. This episode, EvilGenius, David Wood, and I give the finals post mortem, discuss the draft, make a free agency wish list, pitch a J.R. Smith/Nick Young sitcom, question Kevin Love’s motives (and then totally realize he’s staying). Oh and we spend far too much time contemplating why there’s a woolly bear crawling across Colin Farrell’s lip on this season of True Detective.
You can hear us on the links above, on SoundCloud, or on iTunes.
So, the Matt Barnes to OKC for Jeremy Lamb didn’t happen, and instead the Hornets shipped Barnes to Memphis for Luke Ridenhour…

Interesting. I gotta think Courtney Lee or Jeff Green are expendable now.
Sure seems like they would be… would rather have Lee, but Green could also be a functional piece since he wouldn’t be counted on for all that much…
And Hollinger will personally wash your car if you take Vince Carter off their hands.
Jeff Green fits into Haywoods contract. I’d love it!
Jeff Green/Vince Carter could definitely be in play. I have to think that Hollinger would clear $13 million cap room if he could. Re-sign Gasol and get another combo guard… Monta Ellis would help this team immensely on offense.
Hopefully it’s Lee. I hope we could get him. He could spell Lebron and Kyrie since he can play both wing and spot minutes at he point. I think Green might be kept by Memphis, he stretches the floor for them and still play Gasol at the 5. Besides they traded draft picks to get Green right? They might give it time for him to pan out there. Carter has been playing nice when healthy. And continuing to defy Father Time since his Dallas days. I’m just afraid he would finally hit the ground here and won’t contribute the way… Read more »
Matt Barnes sucks, I do not understand why anyone would trade anything for him.
Uh, yeah, he was one of the best defensive players in the league last year, and had a great regular season. He just picked the worst time to go into a slump (the second and third rounds of the playoffs).
Nate, remember, Cols doesn’t believe in defense…
*first and second round Nate. Houston went to the third round.
I don’t want Barnes here. He always gets into scuffles or something.
I really need this pod to decompress from the finals and try to ease my depression:( Thanks for uploading.
Draft
1. Justin Anderson
2. RJ Hunter
3. Hollis
BOOM
Boom Herron? I thought he played football.
As per Love: I think he is coming back. I’m 85% sure (conservatively). The team that I’m most worried about isn’t the Lakers (you can say he’d be “going home” as he went to UCLA and was born in Santa Monica), but he actually grew up in Oregon. If Aldridge leaves, I think that is the only other place he could go. They are a pretty good team, so he won’t be criticized for going to a losing team, and he could get the max deal (not as much as the Cavs could offer, though). Like I said, I bet… Read more »
It’s funny. I’m like 99.98% sure he’s coming back. But it still makes even me a bit nervous. Ugh.
If Mallory is around, someone ask him if he’s listened to Bully: Feels Like
If he liked Courtney Barnett, then I think he’ll like this one as well.
Alonzo Gee I would like on a super low deal. A guy during the season that can spell some minutes and get out in transition and finish at the basket. Hit a couple threes. Play decent D. Take over Matrix’s spot. Still have room to get a better wing or PG.
NATE PER YOUR BLOG YESTERDAY ABOUT BEING HIGH ON ALEX CARUSO ——COULD NOT LOCATE HIM ON ANY DRAFT SITES—-IS HE WITH HIS UNCLE ” ROBINSON AND FRIEND FRIDAY ” ON SOME FAR AWAY ISLAND —-
Weird.

I guess he’s a junior and won’t come out till next year. He has an interesting stat profile with his assists and steals way up (steals are usually a great success indicator for guards). If he can get his scoring average up next year, I could see him getting drafted. Sorry for the false alarm.
Awesome. Will listen at work later tonight. Hope we get EG’s evil take on the ridiculous Cousins to Lakers crap.
Sadly, I think Sacto may very well panic trade Boogie to the Lakers. They’re asking for Randle, Clarkson and the #2 pick (likely Okafor), and the Lakers are balking at that. But even two of those pieces would probably be a better haul than elsewhere given that Boogie wants out and Karl wants him gone…
Thanks EG. If I were the Kings, and I were determined to trade cousins for whatever reason, I would take less to send him anywhere but LA. No idea why a western conference team would have any reasonat all to help them out. I need to check around this afternoon to see if this might still be a thing (just getting up after working graveyard). I hope the Lakers are goong to nix the deal by refusing to put some of their ‘superstar’ talent onthe table.
Jeremy Evans forever.
Totally undervalued guy. I’m with you. (This also proved that I have listened hours of podcast)
And Nate, it’s all about value at 24!!!
