Live Thread: Cavs vs Knicks 2015-12-23 Off By Tom Pestak Whoops. No Melo, Cavs at full strength. Let’s talk about it!!!! The Point Four-ward: Happy Kyri-days! Recap: Cleveland 91, New York 84 (Or, ’twas the game before Christmas…)
Interesting observation that needs fact checked: Kevin Love’s good games always equal wins. People said he was a stat stuffer in Minny, but I don’t think the Cavs can lose when he scores 20+. Has he ever put up great numbers in a stinker game?

Kyrie Irving is back out on the court 20 minutes after the final buzzer getting shots up after going 1-for-7 tonight.
He was shown in the background shooting free throws during AC, Fred and Campy’s post game interviews. He made every shot.

Just insane. Basketball at it’s finest, I love this game.
Nice. Eight passes, five dribbles.
Not bad for a scrimmage. Kyrie was 1-7 in 19 minutes, with 4 assists. Shump was the leader at +15.
Now on from a scrimmage to an exhibition game on Friday!
Porzingis is going to be an absolute beast.
Just another slow, lumbering white Euro. /s
Neither slow nor lumbering.
Hence my /s for sarcasm tag. :) there were plenty of dumb comments along those lines before the season.
Zinger, KAT, AD, Jah.. The bigs might have returned.
Looks like Brooklyn could get another quality win tonight against Dallas. They are a strong team…just don’t have a killer mentality. There is no reason they shouldn’t be in the playoffs in the east…and yet they won’t be.
TOUGH ROAD TRIP COMING UP WITH 2 BACK / BACK —-WOULD SETTLE FOR 3-1—-COULD ACTUALLY SEE THEM BEAT G.S AND THEN LOSING TO PORTLAND ( HOPE I’M WRONG )
I’m not sure what the current running record is for East vs West, but the East is having quite the season compared to the last 15 or so years.
I checked yesterday. East is still has 10 teams above 500 while West has only 7. West is doing better than 3 weeks ago. Houston in particular
What’s the record for inter-conference match-ups, East vs West, who is leading?
Last Thursday when i checked it was 75-75.
Interesting that Cunningham got zero minutes. When is it that we have to guarantee his contract or let him go?
My biggest concern going up against Golden State is Kyrie’s rust. Can someone deliver Uncle Drew a Tetanus shot please?
AN UGLY WIN IS BETTER THAN A BEAUTIFUL LOSS—-KYRIE STILL KNOCKING THE RUST OFF—–GUYS GETTING REACLIMATED WITH EACH OTHER—EVIL WE MISS YOU MAN–HURRY BACK !!
I was secretly hoping it was Rope- a- Dope and he just goes nuclear Friday
Love and Tristan had double doubles tonight. Blatt has a lot to work on with line ups with the bench against Golden State. Can not afford to go with unproductive non 2 way players. They will expose Cavs
Yea, I’m gonna focus on that January 18th match up… Ky will have knocked off a lot more rust, rotations will be more clear, chemistry will be stronger.
I’ve heard some national folks that believe that the Cavs can beat the Warriors in a 7 game series, if both teams are healthy. However, the Cavs can’t beat the Spurs in a 7 game series.
LeBron thanks the fans for being the difference tonight. Added: “We played like s**t.” — TJ Zuppe.
Golden state will have a test against Utah tonight. Something about Utah bothers them in a different way than Milwaukee’s length. Would be interesting if the Warriors came into Christmas off a loss
Isn’t Gobert out though? He’s a huge huge difference
Not pretty, but still a win. It looks like it will take some time for Kyrie to get acclimated. Probably a month. I’m going to the Cavs-GS on Jan 18th. “F” the “W”!!!!
Yo seriously?! That’s amazing. I’m crazy jealous. And I didn’t realize how close the two games were this year
golden state gets away with so many little things. Something about the speed at which they play or the softness of their feet has refs mesmerized. Green hasn’t changed his pick style a bit. He stops, then moves toward the defender he’s picking, then throws his arms out toward said player, then acts like that was some attempt to begin guarding said player, then grabs said players jersey on his way to set another pick of the exact same variety. Ezeli has picked up a lot of greens habits (including being a sneaky good passer). He rebounds while holding other… Read more »
And that’s the ballgame. Jesus does fisher suck in close games. Thank God the didn’t go back to Porzingis.
Doc Rivers can relate
Shump adapted pretty damn quick from injury to be this good
Well it was ugly but I’ll take it! Fisher has that team playing hard and that gave them the chance.
Cavs finally working out those free throw issues.
TT big tonight!
Big free throws by Thompson.
That dunk by LeBron was THROWBACK
This is a WOW GAME FOR LOVE! He has really grown on defense this season
I’m with you. Dude was our best player by a long shot. Most of his rebounds were of the tough variety, and he worked the post like a pro while the Knicks tried to go small. He’s our secret weapon against small ball…can’t wait to see him take iggy to school on christmas
TT was great too. Cavs won by going big against their small lineups.
They just fouled TT…our best free throw shooter right now lol
Oh my lord, Jesus with that dunk, made up for that turn over earlier.
Aflalo’s eyebrows just fouled TT!
LeBron works out some frustration with a monster jam!
Not sure why Fisher called a TO for NY? Had an advantage there.
Love asserting himself in this quarter. Lebron has lost his dribble like eight times this game. What’s the deal man?
This feels like a “Glenn from the Mail Room Game!”
Lebron having a really bad game, wow
I am happy that 21-9-5 is his off night…but yeah he’s been awful. Also hasn’t gotten foul calls so add about ten points for free throws he should have had
Knicks missed Porzingis open at the top of the arc that time.
That’s why I love shumpert
The crowd should be cheering as loud and sarcastic as possible after that foul call
I hope LeBron doesn’t decide to go into the let me pound the ball for 23 seconds mode.
Suffocation! No breathing! That was his last resort… Get em shump!
Tristan is playing a great game. Boarding, scoring and hitting his freebies.
Not sure why love is eating calls and not Lebron but that post work is txtbook
You’re right about that!
Cavs D good on Williams. Calderon coming alive instead
Get Love in the 4th. Don’t understand why he’s not playing??? It’s not like this lineup is doing that well.
Blatt needs to try something else. Maybe RJ can help us?
I agree. Is kevin love hurt?
That’s not who I’m thinking about. No reason to be sarcastic. Wrong blog. RJ better than JJ
My bad I apologize. I’m getting grumpy
Haha I meant love hadn’t played in the fourth yet. That was the change that Blatt made, actually. Got him back in
Ball just doesn’t want to go in our hoop. Lots of touches on the rim and won’t fall yet.
Are you kidding me??
And they get a chippy foul on a rebound? Are the refs getting paid? That’s like four straight plays
We cannot get a call at the rim.
Nice hands by Mo on the last 2 possessions.
Amundsen plays his absolute best against cleveland
Cavs won’t take the 3
Lebron is waiting til the very last second of shot clock to set up teammates. I keep thinking we’re gonna have a shot clock violation and we keep scoring instead. It’s amazing.
Hideously bad call. Good lord
See how Williams wrappe3d his arms around Shump
Have to give credit to the Knicks they are playing great defense. Cavs have to earn it.
Good point… so easy to find fault with your team, rather than give the opponent credit.
All the Cavs are getting are long jump shots. The Knicks are not letting the Cavs get near the rim.
AC is so hard to listen to when the Cavs aren’t playing perfect ball
A lot of dumb mistakes
