Recap: Bulls 96, Cavs 83 (Or, You’re still holding the Button Down)
2016-01-24 Off By Tom PestakThe Cavs shot 37/16/40. At home. On the day after they fired the coach they didn’t want to play for. That doesn’t happen very often. According to Basketball-Reference it’s only happened TWICE. [Update: Thanks to reader ‘nugget’ for pointing out the error in my original link].
On the same night he vowed to play 10 guys, Tyronn Lue technically played 10 guys. Although Mo Williams only earned three minutes. Possibly because he checked in during the middle of a seven-minute drought and without trying to find a better shot for anyone else he promptly jacked up an off-balance runner from 15 feet that clanged off the iron. The Cavs were destroyed by the Bulls front line, whose shot chart extended well beyond the three point line. Anderson Varejao never saw the court.
The First Quarter:
The Cavs started off well enough and got out to a 12-6 lead on a J.R. Smith triple. On the Cavs next possession, Mozgov had his layup blocked by Pau Gasol. Mozzy scrambled to chase down the ball and had to hoist from the baseline about 17 feet from the hoop to beat the shot clock. He rattled it in and the Cavs looked to be in good shape at 14-8. At the next whistle, Tyronn Lue made his first substitution: James Jones for Kevin Love. It’s worth mentioning that by this juncture, Kevin Love had taken two shots, both 3s, with nary an elbow touch.
The Cavs would not score the rest of the quarter. They succumbed to a seven minute drought. A team with LeBron James, Kevin Love, Kyrie Irving, and J.R. Smith did not score for seven minutes, at home, on the day after they fired the coach they didn’t like playing for. With 4:54 left in the quarter, Ty Lue tried his first Heat Check lineup on for size (none of the Big 3 present on the hardwood). The Bulls played Delly for the oop and his drives into the teeth were ineffective. After two more minutes of futility, Lue put Kevin Love back in, possibly sensing his Heat Check lineup was a mistake. Love attempted one shot the rest of the quarter – another missed 3. Nary an elbow touch. 21-14 Bulls after one.
The Second Quarter:
Kyrie, J.R., Iman, and LeBron started the second quarter by feeding Kevin Love. Love made three straight shots, including a sick turnaround fadeaway from the baseline. Then he missed one hook shot and the Cavs gave “feeding Kevin Love” the hook. He took one more shot in the quarter – another missed 3. Nary an elbow touch. LeBron and J.R. ramped up the aggression and scored the rest of the points in the half. LeBron drove into the teeth and pushed in transition and J.R. scored on an assortment of moves including a tough-man’s layup, a couple deep Js, and a transition dunk when he got out and ran with LeBron. The Cavs cut it to two (41-39) and that would be the closest they ever got. Jimmy Butler splashed a 3 to give the Bulls a five point leading going into halftime.
The rest of the game:
was frustrating as hell. Pau Gasol and Nikola Mirotic splashed threes while Anderson Varejao sat on the bench. The Cavs actually missed their first 10 (non-technical) free throws. TEN FREE THROWS. There’s not much else to say about the game. The Bulls pushed the lead out to 17 before the Cavs mounted a mini-comeback of sorts when LeBron started driving hard into the lane in the 4th quarter. They got it down to single digits with three minutes to go after LBJ completed a 3-point play. But they stalled out. Taj Gibson put them to bed with a 3-point play of his own and an obnoxious 17-footer as the shot clock expired on a broken play.
The Good:
J.R. Smith: If there’s been a bright spot during this dark month it’s been J.R. His stroke looked pure even if he only shot 7-17 tonight, and he played a more complete offensive game than usual, attacking the basket when he wasn’t spotted up to splash. He had 11 rebounds and was diving for loose balls.
Mozgov is ever-so-slightly getting his aggression back and starting to dive to rim with more authority.
When the Cavs got down by double digits, shouts of “Luuuuuuuuuuuue” rained down from the home crowd. What a nice show of support by the Cavalier faithful.
The Bad:
The Cavs Offense..it..looks like the players just met at the Y. I don’t understand why people think they’re getting good looks and just missing. These aren’t good looks. They were 6-24 from 3 and most of them were out of rhythm or if they were in rhythm they were the result of a perimeter pass that did not force the defense to bend at all. Like, when someone on the wing lobs a six foot pass to Kevin Love at the top of the key and he decides to shoot over someone….it’s not a “good look.”
I don’t know what the solution is. Kyrie Irving just wants to freelance, no one knows how to play with him. There was a sequence where he dribbled into a trap in the corner, eventually shot-put a pass to LeBron, who decided instead of clanking a spot 3 he’d rather take a baby step to toe the line and clank the longest of long 2s.
Kevin Love can get buckets but the Cavs don’t trust him and they don’t really utilize his passing in the half court.
Going into the season I thought the Cavs front court was ridiculously talented and deep. There’s just no consistency. You can watch a three or four minute sequence and forget that Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson are on the court. Mozgov has struggled terribly this season, Varejao doesn’t play, LeBron doesn’t want to set up shop on the low block, and James Jones seems utterly ineffective if he’s not splashing 3s. Since December he is shooting under 30% from 3. He didn’t attempt any in seven minutes of action tonight.
Mo Williams may as well be cut at this point. He’s doing none of things that make him valuable and if he’s creating even one iota of a problem in the locker room then it’s time to say goodbye.
82 million dollar contract and Thompson falls for this. Good work, Niko. https://t.co/pNClcHTy8s

The Ugly:
The Cavs lost by the number of free throws they missed.
CtB’s in-game scout, Elijah Kim, noticed that the Cavs bench wasn’t thrilled with Kevin Love remaining glued to the deck while the Bulls ran the other way for a prolonged 5 on 4 possession.

I don’t know about you, but the report from Windhorst that many of the Cavs thought the team meeting to discuss Blatt’s firing was actually a meeting to inform everyone that Kevin Love had been traded…that opened my eyes to how dire the situation is inside the locker room.
David Griffin made a point to say that the Cavs only rose to the occasion when they faced adversity. That they didn’t handle success or prosperity well. When they were expected to play well they didn’t. Chalk tonight’s loss up to that phenomenon.
To be fair, we can't judge Tyronn Lue until we see how this team handles success.

OK, but WHAT THE HECK? Why are the Cavs able to dispose of a Clippers team that had won 9 of 10 games but the minute they become double digit Vegas favorites and everyone naturally assumes they are going to just explode on the extremely-banged up Bulls…why this? They missed 10 straight free throws! And it wasn’t like it was all Tristan Thompson. Kevin Love missed free throws! Why is there such a lack of focus? Isn’t this the game where they were finally freed from Blatt’s incompetence and inability to discipline and whatever other grievances they had? He’s gone! Ding dong the wicked witch is dead – now MAKE YOUR FREE THROWS.
Why does Kyrie Irving insist on zig zagging all over the court with his dribble and standing as still as a statue when he’s off the ball? Why do LeBron James/Kevin Love interactions at the top of the key so painfully awkward!? Shouldn’t these long triple threats be devastating in pick and roll/pop situations? Napolean Dynamite’s got more of a 2-man game!
Final Thoughts:
There’s been talk this week about playing at a faster pace. The Cavs certainly seemed more frenetic tonight, and it did nothing to improve the bottom line. After the game, Coach Lue said that the players are not in good enough shape to increase their pace from near-last in the league to something more up-tempo. More great news. And why is playing at faster pace the antidote to this inability to show up for big games? Last I checked, the Cavs beat the Warriors in the finals by dictating a slow-as-molasses tempo.
The Cavs are running out of time.

Three comments:
1) That was the first Cavs game I had been to in 40 years. Probably will be another 40 years before I go another one.
2) We should hire Hoiberg away from the Bulls–he appears to do an excellent job teaching free throw defense.
3) God hates Cleveland.
Wow – i just found an article that linked David Blatt’s firing, with the Spurs model of consistency, with working through a marriage, with millennials disdain for the First Amendment. http://www.theamericanconservative.com/jacobs/the-trade-in-society/
Let’s ask a question: Why was David Blatt fired as coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers? The man who fired him said it was a matter of “a lack of fit with our personnel and our vision.” Possibly true. But it would be more useful to say this: David Blatt got fired because Chip Kelly got fired before him, and Jose Mourinho before him, and Kevin McHale before him, and so on nearly ad infinitum. And then some of this What most troubles me about these pathologies is that I don’t see any way back from the current level of impatience… Read more »
Dave wrote a nice piece that was respectful as he should. He didn’t throw Blatt under the bus and pile on. http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/14639828/tyronn-lue-delicate-balancing-act-showed-was-cleveland-cavaliers-guy What was interesting was the little things we didn’t notice . He informed the team that they will participate in normal introductions and come out on the floor as a team. He is ending the come out onto the floor when you feel like it before games. Without coming out and saying it, this team got into the cliques to the point that it splintered some of that unity.
“LeBron the Coach-Killer”: http://www.todaysfastbreak.com/nba-east/cleveland-cavaliers/history-will-arbitrarily-judge-lebron-james-coach-killer/
Kelly Scaletta (?) makes as good effort at an even handed discussion.
And I reply with an article by the same guy for you guys thinking a coaching change is really going to make much of a difference. Did you happen to notice this one? http://www.todaysfastbreak.com/nba-east/cleveland-cavaliers/firing-david-blatt-doesnt-change/ So, whether LBJ got Blatt fired or not doesn’t matter, except that it possibly shows the dysfunction this group of players can cause. As I have stated numerous times in the past few days, what matters is that firing the coach will not change much at best but has the potential to become a train-wreck at worst. Even more, whether LBJ gets blamed or not, it… Read more »
Who knows if it will do any good or not. But it is crazy to say in advance it will do no good. Many NBA championships were won after a coach was fired and a better fit came in. This includes last year with Steve Kerr, the Bulls with Phil Jackson, the Lakers with Pat Riley, and many more. Lue’s first day as some mixed results. He is pretty weak as a public speaker. This is not a deal breaker, but still too bad. His first game as HC featured the worst shooting in memory. That is not likely to… Read more »
You seriously trying to compare those guys to Tyronn Lue? Really? Really? None of those guys replaced anyone midseason dude and won. Come on, it is one thing for a rookie head coach to win, it is an entirely different universe for a rookie coach to win as a mid-season replacement. Get real. Talent and money? There is talent and money a lot of places. There is also ownership and fount offices that do not look like complete weak buffoons who allow players to run the show. If given a choice between two equals, I guarantee you a coach picks… Read more »
What difference does that make?
There is some talent and money on lots of teams, but only SAS and GSW have near as much talent, and probably none have as much money.
What do you think the odds of the Cavs wining the EC with a midseason rookie head coach are? They have a two game lead now.
We’re not even guaranteed to be in the finals, frankly. Budenholzer and Casey are licking their lips at the thought of coaching against Lue in the playoffs this year.
Look at all this **** that’s coming out now. What kind of coach wants to come into this situation? To be ignored by the players, scapegoat for all the teams’ losses, face intense media scrutiny, then get booted out the door and called incompetent? If I were Walton, I wouldn’t touch it with a ten-foot pole.
The east isn’t an issue. It never was, not even with Blatt. You are being disingenuous hopefully because you know and I know that whoever comes out of the west is on an entirely different level than the cavs. There is way more going on with this team than coaching. There are structural issues. The guy pointed out as much in the article. I think the podcast might have as well. The majority of our main guys are 1 way players who are either super weak on d or are mediocre offensive players. Structural issues that cannot be fixed by… Read more »
But you know as a life long cavs fan I hope to god you are right, because if not we are screwed.
Every other job Walton might get will also have a fired coach.
Why do you think the Cavs players are more dysfunctional than those of other teams? There are about 100 players known as head cases in the NBA. The only on the Cavs is JR Smith, and he straightened up as soon as he joined. Maybe Mo and RJ. I hope Lue will give them about a week to get their act in gear, or get cut.
Doesn’t matter if they are or aren’t. Management in stable organizations does their absolute best not to roll over for every disgruntled player. You think that kind of uprising would fly in San Antonio, the most stable and successful franchise in the last 20 years?
You don’t get it, John B. The only problem with our organization was Blatt. Now that he’s gone, our worries are through. /s
They need to get Bill Walton out of retirement to call Cavs nationally televised games. He can relate his Grateful Dead experiences to the spirit of this team. I’m sure he’ll have some good anecdotes.
At this point, maybe Dr Phil could give the team a half time pep talk instead of worrying about rotations and adjustments.
Actually, I was about to suggest that all the “Blatt is God – LeBron is the Devil” people could go on Dr. Phil as a group.
Dr. Phil played in a famous college football game, maybe the biggest losses ever. His entire team got food poisoning (or something like that), and Phil, who was an O lineman, wound up playing QB.
As opposed to the “Lebron is god, Blatt is the devil” people? Seems to be more of those.
See? I can construct a strawman just as ridiculous as yours, and it took literally no effort.
There are a bunch of “Blatt is God – LeBron is the Devil” people on here. There are no “Lebron is god, Blatt is the devil” people on here. There are a lot who realize LeBron is who he is, and Blatt was not getting the job done, and why in the world should he get to stay on? Now that all the inside info is coming out, the BIG-LITD gang claim it is all lies to curry favor with LeBron, Rich Paul, etc. And exactly why would Branden Haywood, Lou Amonson, etc., bother to do that? They have no… Read more »
Okay. If you want to talk about a coach being in over his head…you’re gonna see what a coach in over his head looks like over the coming weeks. You’re being overly optimistic. You think Blatt as coach was the only problem, and now that he’s gone we’re gonna be in good shape. I’m saying that while there were problems with Blatt, many of the problems with his coaching tenure here were because of the culture, the locker room, and LeBron James. None of those problems are going away. LeBron wants to beat Golden State and the Spurs. But he’s… Read more »
There are some Lebron is god, Blatt is the devil people here, apparently including yourself, and there are tons outise of this website. It’s hilarious. I am one of the probably very few here who have seen Lebron in a professional enviroment in private – I know what Lebron is like. He ain’t his PR spin portrayal. I have no idea what Blatt is like away from the cameras, but I know his record of success.
The Cavs are winning jack crap this year. Maybe they wouldn’t have won jack crap, anyway. But it’s set in stone now.
And exactly what success has Blatt had in the NBA without LeBron? I think his record is about 0-10 without LeBron. How does that make him a genius at this level? Look at all the big time college coaches who couldn’t do squat in the NBA. How do you rate Euro ball compared to big time college teams? Do you think Blatt could win with Kentucky? I am in the middle on LeBron. Look at all the times I debated Cols , who does think LeBron is God. But LeBron is certainly still one of the best players ever, and… Read more »
That’s because LeBron never let an offense be installed here. He’s so good that he somehow makes it work.
The Spurs are still the Spurs when they sit Kawhi, Duncan, Parker. The Warriors were still dangerous even when Steph Curry was out. It’s only here that, as soon as LeBron goes out, everything goes to ****–that’s because there’s no system in place.
Here’s something you’re ignoring about Blatt: the Warriors wanted to hire him to run their offense last year. They wanted to hire him *over* Alvin Gentry. They certainly thought Blatt could be successful in the NBA.
Not to mention, Blatt has been successful in the NBA. Surprisingly so. To the tune of getting up 2-1 in the finals with two of our best players out, against a historically great team.
That’s better than a lot of coaches could have done. If you really believe that this team somehow did that, between LeBron and Lue, while dragging David Blatt around as dead weight, then I guess you believe we’re a lock for the title this year now that he’s gone.
I don’t care about lebron. I don’t know if everything is true about his involvement, just like you don’t know that it isn’t. It doesn’t matter. I do know that if James wanted to keep the rest of the team in line he could without any issue whatsoever. There is one thing I am absolutely sure about Lebron at this stage of his career and that is his influence over his teammates, young guns and vets alike. Hell he brought 75 percent of these guys in anyway, got most of them their contracts including some huge ones. Hell he basically… Read more »
Looks like OKC is going to lose to the Nets. They should fire their coach. Or if they manage to win without connecting their spirits, that’s also grounds for a sacking.
Cavaliers Hire Mike Longabardi As Assistant Coach: basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/240551…
He was let go by the Suns and will take over the defense for the Cavs.
The Suns had the worst defensive field goal percentage in the nba when he was fired, so we have that going for us.
Hard to take anything away from that Suns team…they’ve just quit. No idea if this guy is good or not, though.
Get to know: SUNS ASSISTANT MIKE LONGABARDI “He knows both sides of the game, but I think his defensive knowledge and what he did with Boston will, when we get into any discussions and talk about things, it’s very helpful to have a guy who kind of specializes,” Hornacek said. Longabardi joins the Suns after six seasons as an assistant coach with the Boston Celtics under Doc Rivers. His time in Boston included three appearances in the Eastern Conference Finals, two trips to the NBA Finals and the 2008 NBA title. He coordinated one of the league’s top defenses as… Read more »
Programming note: Cavs GM David Griffin is scheduled to appear on @MikeAndMike on ESPN 1540 KNR2 tomorrow at 930am.
CAVS HIRE MIKE LONGABARDI AS ASSISTANT COACH—DEFENSIVE SPECIALIST ???—-ANYBODY HAVE ANY INFO ON HM—-GOOD HIRE OR NOT ??
He think he used to make baskets down near Coshocton.
And his sister dates Bernie Kosar.
He’s a Griffin guy. I’d watch my back if I were Lue.
DON’T LOOK NOW BUT THE RAPTORS HAVE WON 8 IN A ROW / AND I AM SURE HAVE A VERY RENEWED CONFIDENCE OF WINNING THE EASTERN CONFERENCE ( LOOK OUT IF THEY PULL THE RIGHT DEAL BEFORE TRADE DEADLINE )
LIKE EVERYONE ELSE— CAN’T WAIT UNTIL TOMORROW’S GAME ( UNDERSTAND IT IS THE TIMBERWOLVES ) BUT THE PLAYERS WILL HAVE HAD 3 DAYS TO DIGEST WHAT TRANSPIRED ON FRI ( MAYBE IT DID CATCH THEM OFF GD. ) AND RIGHT THEMSELVES EMOTIONALLY / LOOK THEMSELVES AND EACH OTHER IN THE MIRROR AND DECIDE WHICH DIRECTION AS APLAYER / TEAM WE ARE HEADED —–I REALIZE EVEN A WIN WILL NOT RID THIS FEELING OVERNIGHT BUT MAYBE GIVE US ALL A SMALL ( MINUTE ) GLIMMER OF HOPE
Following up on the LBJ situation, I’ve never seen a top player that from time to time will point to the bench asking to come out like he does. I know is not on every game but I think he is not putting the work as he always says he does. Sometimes he has maybe 2 or 3 sequences in which he needs to go full throttle and then all the sudden his pointing to bench asking to go out.
If he claims to be the best then he needs to act like it.
You have totally gone off the tracks. When players get tired, they take a breather. Otherwise they get massacred. You don’t think they should do that?
If you’re buying into the “players are out of shape” narrative, then you should have even more reason to be afraid for this team. All we’ve heard all season is how LeBron is hungry, how he wants guys to play angry, to go for revenge after Golden State. He’s supposed to be obsessed with Golden State and the Spurs, and the threat they pose to his legacy.
If that’s all true, how could he let himself get so out of shape that he has to come out early in the first quarter?
Coach Lue will have hands full trying to fix the mess that is this Cavs team right now. I think what this team has lost mostly is their overall ability to fight back whenever they fall behind against one of the top teams like the Bulls, Warriors or Spurs. But again now that “the problem” was removed the players need to put their big boy pants (as Riley would say) and play the way they should. To be honest I don’t believe that bench players like RJ, Mo and others would like to get traded to a non playoff team… Read more »

The stench will be gone in a week if the beat the Spurs.
I guarantee you we’re not going to beat the Spurs.
It was awesome to see the team get booed during the game yesterday. Lebron should get booed every game.
This is an amazing analysis from bballbreakdown on why Blatt was fired…points out several culprits…it’s about 10 minutes, well, well worth watching…
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IbO_505V3Uo
(and I know some will say Coach Nick hates Lebron blah blah blah…impossible to refute the video evidence from the Blazers, Spurs and GS games, though)
Thanks for sharing this Mike. I agree with coach Nick on everything he exposed on that video and I hope that Ty Lue can hold him accountable if he continues to play like this.
With this being said I hope LeBron can fix his effort issues and his issues on offense too.
That guy is is cherry picking to prove his dingbat theory, that the Cavs intentionally lost the PTB game. Why is it astounding that a team has a really lousy game in a situation like that, where everyone looks bad after it gets out of hand? If you had ever played on a basketball team, you would know that happens sometimes. A glaring example is going on about the behind the back pass to a man under the basket. It was poorly executed and did not work. If it had worked, it would have been great. In the history reconstructed,… Read more »
No one knew how bad Mo would turn out to be, and in fact he looked pretty good early on. Blatt pulled the trigger pretty fast on going back to Dellavedova. The theory that the Portland game was a boycott doesn’t originate here, it originates with Brian Windhorst. So you have to give it some consideration at least. Look at that game again and ask yourself, how does this Cavs team get blown out that badly by the Blazers without Damian Lillard? And let me ask you this: why does Lue bring Mo and James Jones back into the rotation… Read more »
Great video and I think it perfectly sums everything up on this situation. I’ve changed my tune, the Cavs will never win a championship with LeBron James. He’s not a very smart player, and I don’t think he knows what it takes to coach and evaluate talent and manage a team. He’ll probably own an NBA team some day like MJ, and probably run it just as poorly as MJ has. Also, it looks like Mo and RJ were the main culprits bitching about PT on XMas. If was the GM, those two would’ve been traded or cut after the… Read more »
You would cut someone for bitching about playing time? Good grief. Players want to play, there’s nothing wrong with that. Now if they’re pulling a Bynum and interrupting practice or something, I can understand doing something about that, but when you have a bench full of players who think they can play, they will prolly get pissed when they don’t. Tell em to get over it.
For poisoning the well and quitting and apparently getting others to quit on their coach is why I’d cut them.
Did you ever play High school or college football? If you did, you know the answer
Interesting. Very interesting.
Ugh, well, this was hard to watch. Whether that was intentional or not, that kind of effort CANNOT be acceptable by our “leader”. How can he do that after preaching what he did at the beginning of last season. I hope Blatt goes somewhere else and coaches them to a championship.
I’m afraid to watch his clip on “The Bottom 5 Pick and Roll Defensive Tandems in the NBA.” But there’s some wine and gold in the thumbnail image.
Ok, I watched it. The third worst pair, statistically, is Mo Williams and Mozgov. Worst is Love and Irving, “a perfect storm of poor effort and bad positioning.”
“Really make you question whether the Cavs have any hope of winning a title with this team.” Ouch!
What really bugs me is that the Cavs not only aren’t a great pick and roll defending team, they aren’t very good at pick and roll offense, either. I’ve hardly ever seen them be crisp off of pick and rolls.
RECENT QUOTE FROM BLATT ( AFTER G.S MASSACRE ) ” IT IS PAINFUL TO GET KNOCKED DOWN —-IT IS SHAMEFUL NOT TO GET BACK UP “—-TAKE IT FOR WHAT IT’S WORTH PLAYERS —-HE MAY NOT BE YOUR COACH ANYMORE BUT AT LEAST MAYBE TAKE / LEARN THIS LAST LESSON HE GAVE YOU !!
What a coach he was. One of the best in the league.
The next dramatic/Klutch move will be Lue kicking Griffin out and forcing Dan Gilbert to make him GM/Coach, that’s my prediction.
Come on Arch, get a grip.
The shocking thing about all this is – if you watch Cavs players on the sidelines during games – you’d think they’re the happiest group of players in the NBA. So happy and together and successful that veterans around the league are willing to accept the minimum salary to play here.
That’s what shocks me about all this.
They acted the same way under Mike Brown and that team hated each other.
What is your evidence that the Mike Brown teams hated each other? Stuff said after Lebron left or when Delonte was loopy on psychiatric meds doesn’t count.
Well, I finally have the opportunity to go see a Cavs game in person since the LeBron 2.0 Era, courtesy of my lovely fiance. Of course, it would come after we upturn our team. I’ll be there tomorrow representing for C:tB either way and I’m wearing my Kevin Love shirt in support of him. Hopefully I can bring some good juju to this Cavs team!
Oh well, at least Billy Simmons’ Patriots lost, so it’s not a total loss. If his Celtics lose to the Sixers tonight, I’m sure he’ll spew a load of childish tweets. It’s what he does.
He tweeted congratulations to the Broncos. Also, Celts are up 15 at the half and Boston has nothing to do with the circus with the Cavs.
Was listening to Haynes on 92.3 and he said he thinks Delly is the only one who will miss Blatt, but that wasn’t confirmed since he didn’t talk to Delly.
I dunno who on the Cavs misses Blatt, but Chris Haynes definitely doesn’t.
Haynes is all in for team Klutch.
He’s also all in for Team Drama, which is pretty much the same thing.
I will also add it was this reporter that Blatt went to behind closed doors and told him to his face hat he was full of it about Delly during the playoffs. Blatt kept their conversation private It was Haynes that actually wrote this in his paper. He admitted at the time he was wrong.
JR will. He resurrected his career.
Shump said nice things about him that he was open to players ideas on how to play on the floor. He said he couldn’t do that in New York.
That guy….. Really? Stop throwing shade at the coach that took this crippled team to the finals. The disrespect these beat writers are giving is disgraceful. You would think their behavior reflects a76er record. It’s far from that. What other Cavs coach took a team that far into the finals AND left this team the top seed in the East??
Hey tomorrow is Cavs Australian Day, so at least we’ve got that going on.
Delly, the Bright spot on the team You know he’s loyal
