Podcast: Talking Cavs with Mark Neal 2016-04-01 Off By Tom Pestak https://soundcloud.com/dayton-radio/tom-pestak-3-31-16 Mark I and discuss the Cavs playoff aspirations, LeBron’s leverage and other NBA topics. Recap: Cavs 107, Nets 87 (Or, The Correct Outcome) Live Thread: Cavs at Hawks
Breaking news: Draymond Green has a torn MCL from bowling last night, out for the rest of the season. Trying to find the confirmed link.
Disagree that the Cavs management didn’t see Love as the better player (Wiggins) in 3-5 years after the trade. We got Love in his prime, and even after 5 years there’s no real reason to think he’d diminish. Contrast that to a total unknown in Wiggins, I think management thought Love was the better bet for the next 5 years.
All opinion of course.
Definitely. And I think that’s fact, not opinion. We got the better player in that deal.
Not bad Tom. I agree with most of what is said. I disagree that the Cavs have in any way mortgaged their future by trying to win now. The trade for Love was an outright win for the Cavs. Especially since Wiggins isn’t any good and would be an awful fit in Cleveland.
Agreed. The future is bright. We have LeBron+Love+Kyrie for the next… 4-5 years? I know LeBron is doing the 1 year thing, but he’s here until we win a title.
With that said, I wouldn’t mind LeBron signing a 3-4 year deal with us…
I wouldnt mind him ‘taking a pay cut’ to win a championship, like he was willing to do to play for team banana boat
Why? To save the owner money? I’d rather the money goes to the players, not the billionaire owners.
Cap flexibility. Although I’m not sure him taking a discount would help at all since we’re so far over the cap anyways.
