Podcast Episode 114: Sustainability
2016-11-29https://soundcloud.com/ctb-5/episode-114-sustainability
We squeezed four men into the podcast booth Monday night: David Wood, Tom Pestak, Nate Smith, and EvilGenius. Despite the tight quarters, we were all over the place, talking Buckeyes, Kevin Love, the Cavs’ record, Hollywood westerns, what it’s like to be middle aged, what NBAers could play in the NFL, and most of all, sustainability. Is Kevin Love’s shooting sustainable? Are LeBron’s numbers? Is the Cavs’ roster? Is David’s unicorn collection? We answer these questions and so many more.
As always, you can listen above, on SoundCloud, iTunes, or Google Play.
Evil, how did you get beaten out on Delly: The Movie?
” ‘Well, my Aussie agent got approached by these two guys from L.A. and initially I told him no,’ Dellavedova recalled of his conversation with his manager.
“The producers, Zachary Green and Jason Shuman, have worked on notable films such as ‘Lone Survivor,’ and convinced the 26-year-old known as ‘Delly’ that they will serve his story appropriately.”

Don’t believe everything you read…
KLOVE’s shooting sustainable? I’d say yes. His confidence is completely different this year. Maybe not Kyrie level shooting… but ~40% from 3? I honestly think that’s doable… he’s just letting it fly. LBJ’s numbers? I’d say yes too. So far Tom is right, he’s not getting above 10 apg so far, but I still think it’s doable. He’s only going to get better at passing IMO because he’s finally and completely surrounded by complementary talent. My only beef this year is not getting Felder early run… perfect example was last game against Philly. Perfect chance for Felder to destroy McConnell/Stauskas…… Read more »
warriorsfan, can you quit the concern trolling? Every one of your posts is some variation of “Are Cavs fans worried about..”Do Cavs fans wish they had….”
Stop.
Are Cavs fans concerned about Cavs slippage in defense rating to #15 in the league from #10 ? Warriors slipped also from #4 to #8 so far though I expected to slip further with departure of Bogut and Ezeli. May be too early to conclude anything.
No. Not worried. We remember the lessons we learned from the playoffs. As great as this Cavs team currently looks they always have another gear come playoff time.
As for the Warriors, you should be worried. They have proven to not have another gear.
lol, warriors on 73-9 pace. My question was for intelligent and balanced mind Cavs fans.
Yes. Warriors are a great regular season team that got better by crying and begging for a true superstar in Durant. They’ve proven that. They’ve also proven they cannot get to a higher level the way this Cavs team can.
apologies to others, couldn’t help but respond this time, because it is just too easy:-)
—————————–
how many playoffs Kyrie and Kevin Love played before Lebron joined Cavs ? Warriors won championship and 2 time MVP before Durant joined. I am sure even you don’t believe most of the stuff you post, one can’t be that delusional, not possible.
Yes, the Warriors won a championship when 2/3 of the Cavs best players were injured. Curry will never be seen as an MVP again after his choke job the last two playoffs. People see what happens when he is faced with better defense.

Neither team has played much D aside from close fourth quarters… Wouldn’t expect either to really much before the ASB with the possible exception of playing each other on Xmas and MLK Days, and the occasional tough test against a handful of other elite teams…
Also, they’ve both had two of the easier schedules thus far, and it’s probably harder to get up to play lock down D against lesser teams…
True. They both will start playing with more intensity after febraury. Warriors though are weak on depth this year, so there is a limit to how much hard they can play. Barring injuries, we are going to see warriors and cavs again in finals. 6-7 months is too long to wait.
For those who are panicking over MDJ’s and JR’s slow starts.

Yep.
BW chatting LeBron and dimes. http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/18159427/why-lebron-james-cooking-more-dishes
Yep. the quality of Leb’s assists really sets him above and beyond
True. Yet another reason why LBJ has long surpassed MJ as the GOAT.
It is kind of unfair to Lebron but if Cavs won 2015 championship or if Lebron won atleast one more with Miami, I would have agreed with you. 2016 championship run though, in my opinion, have moved Lebron to as #2 all time. Lebron though not finished yet.
AND YES O-H-I-O STATE IS THE GREATEST AND SHOULD BE IN THE GOLLEG PLAYOFF ( SHOULD NOT BE ANY ARGUEMENT THERE –) AND YES HAR(BABY )BAUGH IS THE GREATEST CRYBABY —NOT EVEN A CLOSE SECOND
1 ) LOVE’S SHOOTING IS GREAT
2) LEBRON WILL GET ANOTHER TRIPLE DOUBLE TO STAY AHEAD OF WESTBROOK WHO IS GREAT
3) CTB IS GREAT
4) MIDDLE AGE ( IF YOU CAN SAY 65 IS MIDDLE AGE ) IS GREAT BECACAUSE YOU HAVE GRANDCHILDREN WHO ARE THE GREATEST ( SHOULD HAVE HAD GRANDCHILDREN BEFORE CHILDREN )
5) MRS NOMAD IS THE GREATEST (WIFE )—AS SHE IS LOOKING OVER MY SHOULDER AS I TYPE )
1. Love’s shooting isn’t quite this great, but it’s still good
2. LeBron’s numbers are easily sustainable
3. The Cavs rosters is among the deepest in the NBA
4. Westbrook is awesome
