Live Thread: Cavs @ Bucks (#WombatCrossing)
2016-11-29The Cavs will find a familiar face on this second stop of their brief road trip tonight, as they visit Milwaukee which is now home of not only the Bucks… but also The Wombat. For those pining to see Matthew Dellavedova in action… here’s your chance. Only, this time his dogged demeanor will be used against Kyrie Irving instead of to back him up. Some say it should be a greatly anticipated matchup… although to honest, it probably occurred every day in practice when he was with the Cavs.
Yes, Delly is the starting point guard for this young Bucks team after spending his first three years of his NBA career in Cleveland. The Aussie guard is having a decent year so far, scoring 7.9 points and dishing out 6.3 dimes per game. His three point shooting is down a bit at just 34%, but his defense has been as gritty as ever and he’s brought his Championship pedigree with him in a leadership role on the floor for Coach Jason Kidd (who probably sees a lot of himself in The Wombat). For his part, it sounds like Delly is looking forward to going against his old mates…
“I’m looking forward to catching up with them and seeing them,” Dellavedova told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “Obviously you develop strong relationships and friendships with not only the players, but the coaches and training staff. It will be a little bit funny playing against them for the first time, but I should know their tendencies pretty well.”
Meanwhile, the Cavs are looking to extend their win streak to five in a row by keeping the 7-8 Bucks down and under. Up until Sunday’s game against Philly, the Cavs’ big three had been taking turns blowing the doors off of their opponents early. Due (most likely) to their Buckeye hangover, it took three quarters before they felt like themselves against the Sixers. We’ll see if they can get back to their hot-shooting ways early against Milwaukee, a team they’ve beaten the last six times they’ve played them.
The Cavs will get Iman Shumpert back following a one game absence for a sore hamstring. Channing Frye (bereavement) however, won’t return until Thursday against the Clippers.
Probable Starting Lineup for the Cavs: LeBron James, Kevin Love, Tristan Thompson, J.R. Smith, Kyrie Irving. And for the Bucks: Jabari Parker, Giannis Antetokounmpo, John Henson, Tony Snell, Matthew Dellavedova.
Game time is 8pm EST, and can be seen on FSO.
Prediction: The Wombat and his wisdom (that’s what a pack of wombats is called) make it challenging for a while before the Cavs pen them in 104-95.
GO CAVS!
I didn’t watch the game but is this really happened ?

Haha. Yeah. JR rules. Love that guy.
Ok. Now I’m going to bed. Goodnight. Sorry the Cavs sucked.
Man, the Clips are going to be pissed off and tired after losing in double OT to the Nets…
Night of the underdog.
Double OT means more minutes and less rest for them. I actually think we match up with them pretty well.
Yes. We matchup great verse them. If they are healthy I think they come out of the west this year.
They’re better this year, no doubt about that.
Although Blake didn’t play…
Seems like Bucks play hard only against contenders. Warriors won just by 3 at their home and now Cavs. They are talented bunch but no consistency.
This year or last year? The bucks beat them last year, no? They are still a young team. They may have the most athletic and lengthy lineup in the league. If Giannis and Parker develop consistent outside shots, look out!
They beat warriors last year, one of the just 9 losses and almost lost this year again.
Delly plus 17.
And my chicken was dry. And the broccoli was too salty. And the only beer was a pumpkin beer that sucked.
I can’t stand most spiced beer, holiday ales, and most American seasonal. True Marzens are great, but most American Oktoberfest seasonals are not true Marzens.
They have to be done right. But man all the pumpkins I tried this year sucked.
I generally stay away from pumpkins, but I also don’t love pumpkin to begin with, which is why I don’t mind true Marzens/Octoberfests as they usually aren’t too spiced. On a side not, I brewed my first lager last week, a helles bock. I have no idea how it will turn out since I have never done a lager before.
Nice. How did you regulate the temperature for the yeast?
I bought a kegging system this summer and a chest freezer at the same time. A plugin temp controller solves the freezer temperature problem, and I realized I had enough room for my keg, CO2 tank, and my carboy. So I figured I might as well raise the temp on the temp controller and do a lager while an ale sits in the keg. By the way, I will never go back to bottling. No more waiting 5 months for bottle conditioning carbonation for high abv home brews. Now with forced carb via the keg system I can carb a… Read more »
Wow. Nice setup. And yeah once you get the soda keg there’s no need to bottle. Bottling sucks.
Yep. Been a long time coming. If only, I had gone to kegging sooner, so much hassle avoided.
I love beer, but am not adventurous enough to try out weird beers. Decades ago I did, and I never really liked them. With most craft beers, they cost about two to five times as much, and it is like a hard job to drink them. I am a big fan of ice cold pilsners. I love live music and go to lots of shows — jazz, blues, bluegrass, and lots of punk rock. Pretty much everyone is swilling PBR, Strohs, etc., and having a wild time. Being an old guy, it takes a few cold ones before I am… Read more »
I love pilsners as well. However, most of the traditional American big brewery pilsners pale in comparison to craft pils, in my humble opinion. I don’t know your beer history, but may I suggest Left hand polestar pils and Victory pils for nationally available craft pils, or if you live in Ohio, Great Lakes pils. I can’t remember the name, but I would put it up there with other regional/national craft pils.
Where did everybody go? Sucks. Cavs sucked. Everybody left. I have no idea when it is in WestWorld. Terrible night.
Don’t think too hard about it…
Cavs kind of sucked tonight. Irving did play some great defense though.
Did everyone go to bed?
The magic are spanking the spurs. I feel better now.
good night guys!!
Goodnight!!
That wasn’t a fun game.
So memories. But how the heck am I supposed to figure out when she is?
