Live Thread: Pacers at Cavs
2017-02-15The Indiana Pacers come to Cleveland looking to avenge last week’s loss to the defending champions. Kyle Korver finally got loose in that one going of for 29 points on only 12 shots. It was a coming out party for Korver and the beginning of a four game losing streak for the Pacers. Both teams will be without their starting PFs as Thaddeus Young continues to recover from a wrist injury and Kevin Love misses his second straight game in what will be an extended absence. Backup Lavoy Allen is also questionable with a sore knee.
Paul George and Myles Turner will still give the Cavs a challenge with their play at both ends of the floor. Turner is slowly coming out of a mini-slump that contributed to Indiana’s slide. The Cavs will again lean on Channing Frye and Derrick Williams to fill in for Love. Ty Lue would be wise to give LeBron some more rest in the second night of a back-to-back. The King logged 40 minutes in the victory over the Wolves. But all minutes are not created equal. Part of LeBron’s recent assist spike can be attributed to a more stationary style of offensive play. LeBron has been content to pick apart opposing defenses that are desperate to stick with the Frye/Korver screen action. With LeBron holding the ball with shooters all around, Lue can afford to give Bron a few minutes more than one might think. Still, let’s not push it, Ty.
Also, as a cool bonus, the game is not only televised nationally on ESPN tonight, it’s also going to be announced by the legendary Bill Walton and Dick Vitale as part of their NCAA crossover night. Here’s how it went the last time these two guys announced a LeBron James game:

I just want to see a lineup of
Ky
JR
KK
Bron
Love
Just for 3pt shooting reasons ;)
Whatever crew I’m listening to is saying kevin Durant is the best defender in the league. Best help, best transition, best this and that…honestly…the hyperbole feels soooo much like last year. It will, once again, be the hardest thing the Cavs players ever do…but we will beat them. I just think we will. They have so many advantages against other teams that get erased against us…this could be even better than last year.
That’s the spirit Scotch!
I’ll take the Cols impression as a compliment…cuz look…we haven’t seen JR Smith in a while. We haven’t seen a healthy Kevin Love in apparently a few weeks even though he’s been killing it. We haven’t seen the LeScrub lineup with JR as an extra ball handler. The Cleveland cavaliers are more stacked than we have been shown. And in true Colsian fashion I’ll end it with this: we have Lebron James. Not Lebron the once finalist and recent choker. We have the Lebron James the three time NBA Champion with all time greatness in his sights. and we have… Read more »
Looks like Klay Thompson is doing his best Kyle Korver impersonation
What Cols will say when he reads this…
This is a really good one. I honestly laughed. But there are more important things at stake. What will I lord over my cousin in San Fran?
Durant will struggle to guard big PFs or Cs. Other than that, he has been very good defender. He is like 3rd best defender in warriors team behind Draymond and Iguodala.
Warriors have outscored the Kings 33-9 now in the third…
Hope those 2 techs come back to bite Bray in the playoffs…
I think these two give him 11 on the season…
DO the kings reach 15?
Not at this rate…
Cousins could be giant Allen Iverson if he understood Momentum… Instead he’s giant…uh…giant Rudy Gay? No not angry enough. Giant Charles Oakley? No too current. Giant King Kupa. Yep. He’s a cartoon.
Yeah… Kings falling apart now…
Matt Barnes has suddenly turned into a super reliable super sub…
He certainly has been rebounding for them…
