The Cavaliers look to bounce back after dropping a home and home to Dion Waiters and the Miami Heat. J.R. Smith has returned to practice, but is still listed as questionable tonight at the Palace of Auburn Hills. Since he missed shootaround, it seems unlikely that Swish will give it a go. (Update: Smith will make his return and come off the bench). Kyle Korver will sit this one out with a sore left foot.
The Cavs face a Detroit Pistons team that screams “mediocre” like William Wallace screamed “FREEEDOOM!!!” Only, of course, the scream isn’t too loud or soft. They are 31-33, have essentially a net rating of zero, a rebound rate of 49.9%, and four players average 14 points per game. I mean, really… Sound off!
This team pretty much acted like they’d never seen a pick and roll before…got scorched by it again and again…
Nate Smith, it’s time to bang Kyrie’s drum again!
Once again, the opposing point guard torched Kyrie. And Kyrie has to learn how to run the offense without LeBron. His no-pass offense and rock pounding often left teammates frozen and out of rhythm.

It’s the freaking pistons, the Cavs should beat them with the players they have available now. The Cavs defense is not where it needs to be.
Not only is it not where it needs to be, its pretty much completely non-existent. The Cavs ONLY win right now when they are hitting threes at the top threshold of their ability.

Problem: Lue’s complete lack of coherence or consistency in the rotations and lineups he trots out.
Lack of practice affects him too. He has no experience with any lineups that work well…oh wait…he has a whole freaking month of excellence from a lineup he seemingly forgot about. He’s been atrocious this year. We are the current 1 seed in spite of him
Yeah because they have guys out with injuries and guys trying to make it back in. And some newer guys. I would give it a couple weeks and hope they win enough to stay around the same wins as Boston. But it’s good to see the panic is still real around here.

Tired of the excuses. Even with the current roster of injuries and illnesses we should have had no problem against Detroit. Tired of no defense.
