Clippers fans are not happy that Lue went with the “best chance to win” strategy, especially with the Clippers at full strength.
Yep, no one missing for the Clippers, who have DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin despite their day to day status. Meanwhile, the lips have lost three straight and have dropped to sixth in the west. This of course leads to some conspiracy theories. Despite the the tinfoil, go Cavs.
Conspiracy theory that LeBron forced the Cavs to rest starters against the Clippers to try and help CP3 in PO standings?

Via ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne: “He wants to play,” Lue said of James before the game. “He was mad, but I just thought for him it was the right decision — not to go out there and try to carry the whole load by himself and playing more minutes. I just think getting those two back tomorrow and getting on the same page is good for us, instead of just trying to play him when Kevin can’t play in a back-to-back and Kyrie can’t play in the back-to-back. “So it’s tricky. He’s pissed, but it’s my decision, it’s the medical staff’s… Read more »
It was the right move from the Cavs, I have to admit.
Also the big 3 courtside at the game was seriously trollish, they basically performed passive resistance by non participation. Interesting strategy Cotton
Watching the Greek Freak get shut down by the Golden Wussies, reminded me of how amazing Lebron is. Nobody really shuts him down except himself and that’s very rare. Night after night, year after year he shoots over 50% with 7-15 rebounds and 6-18 assists. His bad games are still good games for any other player. MVP every year he’s the man.
It’s always a bigger story if Lebron’s the bad guy. Somehow, conspiracy theorists never thought that Ty Lue wanted to give his buddy, Doc Rivers a hand in play-off standings.
For those who think they should rest the starters against the Lakers instead, I think with the way they’re playing they may end up loosing to both games. Lue is making sure not to get one win out of this by playing the starters against the Lakers.
Fair point, but I’m not sure the Lakers can beat anyone right now.
I switched the channel a while ago, but whoever is doing the recap gets a free drink IOU from me.
Blake hot. Hard to stop him when he’s got his jumper rolling.
Cavs should be fined for resting three healthy players
Kevin can’t play on back to backs. Kyrie hurt his knee. Lue doing his best to win one game out of two. How dare you question nba champion coach Tyronn Lue.
+1. World champion Lue cannot be questioned.
LMAO… you gotta admit it Cols, Nate’s got you here.
The NBA should be fined for sucky scheduling. How many times do teams have to do this before the league gets the message? It isn’t just the back-to-backs. It’s also the travel. In this stretch the Cavs go from Cleveland to LA to Charlotte to Cleveland to San Antonio to Cleveland (leaving out some intermediate stops). The extra leg to San Antonio is an additional 2,500 miles or so in the air. And for their three road games in Texas this season, they’ve had to make three separate trips. Plus, the first two were on the second night of back-to-backs… Read more »

My wife: “he was still alive?”
Great photo
I hate resting guys.
Well that was easily the ugliest half of basketball we’ve seen this year.
Looked worse than the Spurs bench playing the Dubs scrubs on national TV…
So does DeAndre have a swastika in his cornrows? Is he a secret trump supporter?
“Kyrie Irving from downtown!”
Watching finals highlights.
Clippers are so sad. They peaked in 2013, amazing they still haven’t jumped ship.
This game is amazing; thanks nba!
Fan-tastic!!
Quite the offensive explosion for both teams…first to 75 wins…
0-12 from three. Yikes
Loving this game! Grind baby grind!
Haha. I forgot you liked bad basketball.
And trolling you!
This game is giving JR a chance to shoot himself back into rhythm
The Cavs are getting good shots most of the time but haven’t been able to hit most of them.
Liggins looks like crap. Thi
Lol, this commentary. Fact is these old frauds didn’t play 82 games, didn’t have as many 7 game series in the playoffs and the blame for Stars missing games ultimately goes squarely on the shoulders of the NBA schedule makers. As much as I hate games like this, I totally get it and would hate an injury to one of the top three worse. Now Lue’s stubborn rotations and failure to effectively spread out days off is in no way fixed by throwing away a game by resting all of the big three at once. Arbitrary is arbitrary.
Lue has been not stubborn about rotations. He’s been figuring things out for the playoffs while incorporating new guys.
Wrong. He’s been given a ridiculous bench and hasn’t figured out how to get LBJ minutes to a manageable 36 per night. LeBron’s best production years in Miami, he had a set rotation that made sense and managed his minutes. You know, like cutting edge, logical, planned minutes. Lue does whatever feels right/stubborn. Lue occasionally trolls the NBA by resting everyone, that isn’t a rest schedule, it’s the easy answer. Lue is not a coach, he’s an enabler with ridiculous talent.
And he should jerk Shump out of the game every single time he attempts to create his own shot early in the shot clock with the best player of this generation and a top 3 ISO player in Uncle Drew on the floor.
This move of not playing the Big 3 tonight will look even worse if the Cavs decide to play them tomorrow against the lakers.
Kinda a weak move honestly. Disrespectful to the Clippers and rather passive aggressive. Could have won both and rested the starters against the Lakers. Basically making a strong statement the Cavs don’t give a flip about the regular season. Can’t say I blame them, but still irritating.
Totally agree with you. They should had played tonight and let the bench handle the lakers tomorrow.
I’m surprised they didn’t do this. Even the bench guys might have been able to get a win over the beyond terrible and tanking Lake show…
Mark Jackson is taking this especially hard tonight.
Thanks NBA for ruining another game with ‘rest’
Dang, looked forward to this game all day. Stinks
They just showed some pretty unhappy-looking Cleveland fans at the game. That is the main reason that I rarely pull the trigger when they come to Sacramento.
