Live Thread: Cavs @ Heat 2017-04-10 Off By Nate Smith No Lebron. No Kyrie. Kevin Love’s not in the starting lineup. The Cavs seem resigned to the second seed. Podcap: Atlanta 126, Cleveland 125 (OT) (or, Failing at Failing) Recap: Miami 124, Cleveland 121 (OT) (or, the Joy of Losing)
I don’t know, I don’t view this game as all that bad. I mean, we were on the second night of a back to back without Kyrie, Bron, and TT, and Love and the boys put it to a close contest and actually played with heart. Still poor defense and still stupid mistakes, but that can be fixed up a bit with actual practice time (of which, I assume, they are doing none). Jr needs a bit of a wake up call but other than that, I wasn’t too utterly disappointed with tonight. I’m not over confident or anything, but… Read more »
Deron needed one more assist for a triple double. But the double figures turnovers were not a good thing. Other than that, he looked like he can still sort of play.
Last game: Lebron will sit, Kyrie maybe. Any word on TT? How bad is he hurt? It is sad to say, but if LeBron does not put on the cape, he hurts the team. I would sit him a lot, and start Liggins. Oh, crap! They cut Liggins! Is any word leaking out on why they did that? Any questions at a press conference? Not playing Liggins, and then cutting him, is making me seriously suspect the Cavs management. They are not looking like that of the “New Browns”, but not so good. Actually, the Indians mgmt has looked great… Read more »
Not a peep as to why. He didn’t seem to be in Lue’s favor for whatever reason. You can NEVER compare Cavs to Browns management.
I hate to blame LeBron ’cause obviously we wouldn’t have a title and would still suck without him. But…Liggins was starting for 19 games and doing just fine. Probably our best on-ball defender this year, and he was a decent 3 point shooter when he was with the starters. When he’s not with the starters, that’s a different story. He tries to do too much offensively. But…hey, we beat the Warriors on Christmas Day with Liggins defending Curry. But…ever since LeBron went on his “playmaker” rant and threw Liggins, Felder, and McRae under the bus, Liggins saw his minutes virtually… Read more »
Odd that if we had kept liggins and played him will be on a two game winning streak and have clinched the number one seed. Yes
Alas Defense isn’t a priority this year so Cavs dumped him for that guy that hasn’t played since June of last year.
It really makes no sense unless Lue/ the team just wanted him gone. I mean, literally, no sense.
EXACTLY WHAT I WAS GOING TO SAY!!!
(I am turning into Nomad!)
Deron Williams exceeded my expectations in this game. He clearly gave everything he had tonight. He WANTED this WIN. Frye has been good these last few games. It was a shame Felder got injured.
Got to add some young talent to this team.
But to me the most important thing is to find a coach that wants to develop those type of players like Pop does and even Spoelstra has done a nice job with the scrubs in Miami lol.
Cedi.
Hope they hold on to him, but I think still a good chance he gets traded…
Which would be idiotic.
What, you don’t want another 34 year old ‘name’ vet??
Why do you think so?
Because he’s unlikely to help Lebron win in the present?
Those two missed freebies by Deron were huge.
Huh – 4th quarter collapse and overtime loss. Ive seen this show before
JR was horrid tonight. Shump was Shump – good third quarter but negated by everything else. Sad part is that I don’t think we would had won had LeBron and Ky played… Crazy to even think that. I honestly don’t even know what can fix this team.
I was thinking the same thing.
Cavs deserved that ending….Frye has to be the biggest 7 foot wimp other than white European 7 footers…hahaha….great game by DWill and Korver….even Love played solid….JR was drunk…Shump was worthless and RJ looks like he wants to retire after regular season….oh and Ellington loves shooting 80% against the Cavs
Maybe giving JR Smith lots of money was not so good of an idea.
We still do a lot of stupid stuff. Fought hard. Shot well. Too much stupid.
HAHA. Great game. JR’s crappiness doomed them.
Most times we blame the coaches but that mistake was on JR there. I bet that wasn’t the play for the Heat but the Jr’s sleeping on defense created the opportunity for Johnson.
We wasted 10 seconds there
Trying to force a back court violation: a worthy gamble.
Well, it was fun. Wish we would have gotten this one, but at least we showed some heart down the stretch.
