At this rate, everyone on the 15 man roster will get their shot in the starting lineup for the Cavs (maybe even the two way G-Leaguers too). Tonight Ty Lue will trot out yet another different starting five for what seems like a new one every game. Derrick Rose, who was almost ready to rejoin the team, is out again with his ankle sprain, and in his place, Iman Shumpert will be making his first start of the season. This is primarily because Coach Lue had already decided, in the wake of swapping DWade and JR Smith, that he was also going to give Tristan Thompson his starting job back and move Jae Crowder to the bench. So, there will be a moderately healthy Wade and now Crowder to help lead the second unit. Meanwhile, the spacing of the starting unit just takes another step sideways.

LeBron James will make his third straight start at Point Guard Forward Person, and Kevin Love retains his spot, though sliding over to Power Forward to make way for TT. Perhaps Lue decided he wanted to go big given that Anthony Davis will be active and ready to start on the New Orleans side of things, and he and Boogie Cousins make for a formidable twin towers up front. Yet, the rest of the Pelicans lineup is pretty guard-heavy, so who really knows.

The big question is whether or not the Cavs are finally ready to start defending the three point line… because a repeat of the 17 makes they’ve allowed to their last three opponents would put them at a disadvantage to snag a victory at the Smoothie King Center. The Cavs also have to hope that JR Smith is ready to start making some triples of his own… since he’s just 3-25 so far (12%) on the young season.

Catch all the action starting at 7pm EST on Fox Sports Ohio… and as always, chime in here…
