Live Thread Cavs vs. Clippers

Cleveland welcomes Blake Griffin and the Clippers on the heels of news that Derrick Rose will miss another two weeks with his ankle sprain. But the Clippers will be without two of their starters, Patrick Beverly and Dino Gallinari, and are starting Sindarius Thornwell and Wesley Johnson so advantage: Cavs.
After starting 4-0, the clippers have eight of nine, and six in a row. To say they want to get back in the win column would be an understatement. Key will be stopping super point forward Blake Griffin, and not letting DeAndre Jordan control the boards.
Also key will be the Cleveland guards at least playing Lou Williams to a draw. Super sub Williams is posting a 22 PER, and 59% true shooting for 17 a night, but 23+ in his last 5 games.
Let’s hope the Cavs clip the Clips.

I was looking at the GSW box score the other night. They played 12-13 guys. Some only about 5-7 minutes. That is what we need to do with Rose, IT, TT, & now maybe Shump all out. Wade cannot play 37 minutes a night. James (36), Love (30), JR (30), Crowder (24), Wade (24), Green (24), Korver (22), Frye (16), Calderon/Perrantes (10), Osman (8), Zizic (8), Holland (8). glad that we got an “ugly w” last night—still upset with the lack of focus / especially at the start of games / last night’s game should have been over the 1st qtr—next with all the injuries ( add shump again to that list ) this would be an excellent time for CLUELESS to ingest cedi / ‘zz” into some playing time —5-7 minutes a game —you have to find out what these young kids can do during a game / how to best utilize them/ rest some other players / give these kids confidence ——–I will never understand CLUELESS’S… Read more »

couple of things: Cavs are one 4 game stupid streak from being 9-3. Of our 7 losses, 3 are on back to backs, 1 was legit loss against Houston and a bevy of golden turds, 2 were just stupid at home lazy losses.
Remember when I said that after a good 6 minute run from Cedi a couple games ago means he won’t see playing time for 7 straight games? It is now I think 2 games in a row he doesn’t see the court.

Back in the top 8. Hopefully Lue gives Cedi, Zizic, Holland, and or Perrantes some run. We need energized a lot of the time.
My observations this 4 game streak.
– We playing better overall in the 2nd half.
– Kyle Korver consistently getting shots. So as other shooters.
– JR is improving from sucking to mostly above average.
Those are the 3 major improvements.

I’ve never seen the Spurs “play thru motions” at any point of the season regardless of who is out or who’s in. They have offensive sets from day 1. They move the ball. It doesn’t matter if they add new players. Was there ever news about the Warriors offense like what we’re going through? None. Ever. You know what’s common? Cavs don’t run an offense at all…its very strange to watch…its not just an LBJ thing…it doesn’t happen when he is on bench too….maybe they are going thru motions now and will have created sets by late season/playoffs, but just bizarre they can’t utilize basic ball movement at elementary level. Figure if they do that, they wouldn’t have close calls against crap teams…but whatever, a win is a win…GO CAVS!
The problem with “a win is a win”, is the fact that the team is being rewarded for playing lousy basketball. Like giving puppy a treat after taking a shump in the shower.
So you value the Cavs playing your game more than winning? A win is a win because that’s what the Cavs do. I’m sure they have tons of sets for IT and D-Rose but they have to improvise until we have our full squad. It’s tough to win with three of your eight rotation players out, but the Cavs won 4 in a row and 5 of 6!
@Wes – not “my game” but a win in this manner, where all you’re doing is riding LeBron for 46 minutes and hoping for Korver to get hot is stupid. There wasn’t any type of offense to the game last night. sloppy game, minimal effort, but Cavs have won again…4 straight…sure some have been ugly but team is winning and it was good to see them battle back like that….i know it shouldn’t have been necessary but thats the way game was played and Lebron and Wade came through tonite. With Rose out next few weeks Cavs have to figure out PG situation….Calderon looked super old and slow in minimal times I saw him in action…Shumpert can’t shoot….gotta figure out something cuz Wade can’t play heavy minutes constantly.

He isn’t a PG. Our other 2 way is. When Korver was guarding Rivers for stretches in the 4th, I thought we had an issue. Calderon steadied the ship in the 1st.
