Live Thread: Cavs @ Pacers
2018-01-12Will the real Cavs show up tonight? Will the staring backcourt make it to ten points? Will the Cavs be better without Isaiah Thomas on the floor? Will the Cavs give craps in the first half? Will there be a coherent offensive and defensive game plan?
All these questions will be answered and more as the Cavs try to wake from their malaise tonight in Indiana. The Pacers are missing Myles Turner while the Cavs still roll without Shump or Rose, and Isaiah is resting on the second night of a back-to-back. The Cavs have lost 13 of the last 15 in Indy and Victor Oladipo gave them fits last time they played. Well… Go Cavs!
Recap up. Sorry about the delay.
Not seeing it.
Every January. Every freaking January.
NEW SAYING —-DON’T CARE !!!—-
We could have had Jimmy Butler. Chris Paul. Paul George. Hell, Malcolm brogdon. Or just kept headcase Kyrie. Instead we have ineffective Thomas and Crowder and the tenth pick. Total cluster.
No matter how many times you post this stuff, it is still loony.
For the tenth time: Kyrie demanded a trade. It was late in the trading season. Butler and Paul and George were already gone. There is no reason to think the Cavs did not get the best possible deal. If you think a better deal was available, why don’t you tell us about it?
Not trading him was a better deal. Having a general manager and conducting exit interviews would have likely tipped someone off ( this was the first off-season they didn’t do it because of the general manager search ). I’m also just pointing out how Kyrie screwed the Cavs by waiting so long to demand a trade. They should have told him it was too late.
I guess we’ll never know the true story, but didn’t ESPN recently put out a story that griffin was close to completing a three way trade with Phoenix and Indiana? We would’ve gotten George and Bledsoe, Phoenix would’ve gotten Frye and Irving and Indiana would’ve gotten Josh Jackson, Shump and Dudley. Deal fell apart when Griffin got fired and then Kyrie heard he was almost traded and made his own demands after that.
yes, this is the case. Kyrie demanded a trade after learning that the Cavs were trying to trade him. Doesn’t make his demands that much easier to swallow, but it is an important part of the story. Also, yes–two more years under contract…
Might be, but has anyone said this other than Kyrie? On the other hand, everyone including people here are trying to trade Love five times a day. He doesn’t complain and just plays better.
Kyrie was under contract for two years. They had no obligation to trade him especially if it didn’t make the team better.
1) Way too early on IT. Give the dude a break after 7 months off.
2) Nets pick is now 7th.
3) Yep. We should have made the PG13 deal.
4) We were not going to beat the Dubs anyway.
5) Bron’s days as the top player on a top 5 regular season team are over. He just doesn’t give enough effort. And it trickles down. Playoff runs still possible.
Don’t worry bout a thing, ’cause every lil’ thing goin be alright. All good folks. Doldrums. Soon enough they will snap out of it and people will swing the opposite direction and say we are winning the finals 4-1. This…..is….Cleveland!!!! Chill out dudes and dudettes.
I did not watch. Boycott in effect.

You also missed the shot.
And the previous two shots…
Wasted offense. No plays ran, no ball movement, just bring the ball up the court and take a contested shot. WTF?
always ready / willing to share with my ctb buddies –ha-ha—-ok I am going to bed later guys—been real (ugly )
Night Nomad. New day tomorrow.
Im not sure what you’re on Arch, but can you share?
I’m high on Raoul’s meds and newnomad’s grow operation!
just wait until we get drose/ shump back …we will be ok….(sarcasm )—-never did see our new player ” AGENDA ‘ get any minutes tonight —–warriors will score over 125 Monday—-20 pt+ victory for them—–bring on the magic/ there is hope for a “w”—goodnight !!
LBJ: “Naw, Lance is just a bit dirty, that’s all”. LOL.
Missed the game but just turning Bucks-Warriors… Bucks are a very likeable team but mostly cause I get to watch Delly play smart bball
Also to remember how crazy good the Warriors are… I’m putting the over under for the Warriors scoring 135 on Monday
If everyone plays, I’ll take the over…
and to make matters worse –nets pull out last second win over the hawks ——not a good night / week / month
At least we win at Indy in the playoffs.
Don’t really understand why Calderon was out there for the Cavs with 5 odd seconds left…you want scoring threats. Yeah, he is capable of making a shot, but not exactly your first choice…
Spacing I guess…
Then use Korver?
Agreed.
I think we all need a vacation from our problems!
I’m sailing! I’m sailing! I’m sailing! I sail! I’m a sailor! I sail!
The Cavs are probably going to lose the next one too against the Warriors but if they compete defensively I could live with that but if they get destroyed again against the Warriors then I wonder what would happen with Lue.
I just feel that no matter who’s playing for the Cavs they should compete defensively every night and not some nights.
And if coach Lue can’t make them play with high energy every night then he needs to go.
Hi, I’m Bob. Would you knock me out, please? Just hit me in the face.
At least JR played a reasonable game of nba basketball.
and it was a close game, so entertaining to watch for the most part
Baby steps!
There are two types of people in this world: Those who like Neil Diamond, and those who don’t. My ex-wife loves him.
That first quarter was pretty awesome.
