“HOW ABOUT THAT CLIPPERS TRADE NOW!!!!” [Andrew Schnitkey]
“Greatest Cleveland sports trade since the Browns got Steve Heiden.” [Zac Jackson]
“The Cavaliers really like Kawhi Leonard. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them draft Kyrie Irving and Leonard.” [Alex Kennedy]
“As coach, Byron Scott has been able to get his great point guard in second year on job. Jason Kidd. Chris Paul. Now, Kyrie Irving.” [Adrian Wojnarwoski]
“#AllForOneandOneForAll Let’s Go Cavs!!!” [Boobie Gibson]
“Has a player ever said he would bring ‘diversity’ to a team before?” [Bethlehem Shoals]
I think the cavs would be smart to come out of this draft with Irving, Enes Kanter and Kenneth Faried.
The story of the season is that its a point guards league now and passing on a potentially first rate playmaker in Irving I think would be a big mistake. Meanwhile a front court rotation of Kanter, Varejao and Faried would be slightly undersized, but energetic, fast and tough on the glass. Guys like that up front should be able to provide the help defense that could slow down the likes of Derrick Rose and CP3.
Irving with #1 pick, for sure. [I have a suggestion for next year, assuming there is one: have Baron as starting PG, move Sessions to SG and Irving back both of them up. Have the rook play about 30 minutes per night but not have the pressure of starting, while Baron/Ramon each get about 33 minutes a night.] #4 pick… well of course it depends on who’s available. Maybe package it with a second-round pick and move up to get Williams. Still, what a good way for the balls to bounce. If the Cavs get 2 high-quality players they can… Read more »
What’s wrong with Leonard? He has ENORMOUS hands, is hyper athletic, and is apparently wowing everyone in workouts by being a much better shooter than advertised. http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Kawhi-Leonard-5821/ I love a guy who works on his game relentlessly. Ideal draft would involve getting a third lottery pick and getting some combination of Irving, Leonard, and Burks or Biyambo. Kanter is a stiff. I like him, but the Joe Klein comparisons are not endearing. I just haven’t seen many 6’11” nonathletic block players succeed much in the NBA. If he is the Turkish Kevin Love, great, but I’m betting he’s more Pachulia… Read more »
Would you take Rubio to trade down to #2 and get Williams? Would you take Kevin Love and the #2 for Hickson and the #1? I think the goal in this draft with the trade exception should be to get three high quality starters.
Why does everyone want Leonard? I hope he does not wear the wine and gold next year.
What’s not to like?
(ESPN can’t get enough of that joke!)
Don’t forget about that trade exception we’re sitting on. lot of great options here.
this is honestly a weaker draft it wouldnt be a bad idea to trade the #4pick
hopefully varajao comes back healthy too
guys like hollins tho that may excercise their player options…. gptta make a move there
Lowell — the twolves don’t need Irving(another pg), you guys are all good :)
Congrats. I hate you all.
After the beating the front office took in the lebrown debacle …Lets see if they can get this right….Trade 4th and 32nd pick for the second overall ..take kyrie and big guy from turkey kantner..hes a beast and could be a center that is like a dirk in a few yrs.
All I can say is…YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!
Posting again. Freaking ecstatic.
The question is, was this the lueage’s way of making it up to the franchise???
Irving and Leonhard wouldnt be too bad….be great if Williams from Zona falls to 4 and we grab him…then we got our point and stretch 3 or 4….great night for Cleveland…honestly didnt think we’d pull it off…
DOOOOOON’T STOP, BELIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEVIN
Now do we trade the #4 Pick? Take Kyrie? Cavs front office is back in the game and I love it!
CLEVLEAND!!!!!!!!!
I could really use a Krolik update, just to envision the grin on his face.
I’m on the verge of happy tears right now.
@J: this isn’t Minnesota. Although I read a tweet by Chad Ford that they might consider Bismack Biyombo at #2.
With the first pick of the 2011 NBA Draft… The Cleveland Cavaliers select… Jimmer Fredette!
Here come Kyrie Irving!
Obviously you’re going to take Irving. Then it’s likely whoever’s left beween Kanter, Williams and Leonard.
Now I love Mo Williams even more. He played his heart out for us, loved being in Cleveland, and will presumably turn into Kyrie Irving. Godspeed.
Should we send a flower basket to Mo?
Technically the #1 pick was from the Clippers. Irving and Leonard would be great
Wanted to point out that that the Clippers balls in the lottery actually became the #1 pick. Not our losing record balls. Based on the rules.
After Cavs got #1 LeBron just sat there smirking
All the draft picks in the world couldn’t help Cleveland
Well, okay, the best outcome short of getting the top two picks, but that’d just be stupid lucky.
Ha! Now that’s a lucky kid. And you guys get the #1 with the lower pick, too. Absolutely the best outcome.
Woot woot!!!
1 & 4 = awesome!!!!
Well…that was awesome!
