So sad to hear of announcer Fred McLeod’s passing.
Going to miss his signature calls:

Fred truly loved the Cavaliers and the city of Cleveland. An expert at his craft. One of the best people and hardest workers I've ever met. His preparation for every single game, including advanced analytics work, was staggering. RIP Fred, you'll be missed. https://t.co/bafgDdqMFw

“Celebrate. Go Crazy. The Championship is yours.” – @CavsFredMcLeod ❤️
Fred, got it. He just did! He embodied everything you could imagine as a professional inside the booth – work ethic, leadership, preparation, PASSION, etc – but outside, he was all of that & MORE …

CONGRATS TO FRANCE –BUT I HAVE TO PULL FOR DELLY AND THE AUSSIES TO GO ALL THE WAY !!
So sad about Fred’s passing.
USA loss was expected. Should have lost to Turkey. This squad is not that good. Kemba is the best player. Or Mitchell.
France about to knock US out of world cup…
I still can’t my head around this. It’s such a cliche to say “he felt like part of the family”, but it also is so true. The man captured the best of the optomistic fan in all of us while still calling the game realistically. He was the perfect link in between the viewers and the game and made you feel like you knew him like an old friend. Not to mention his player interviews where he consistently and deftly sidestepped all the sad cliches and pitfalls of bad routine sports reporters. And then seeing him lose his mind in… Read more »
Oh AC is really crushed
Oof. Hard to see the pain from the people who truly lost Fred. Cavs games won’t be the same for all of us fans, but they REALLY won’t be the same for AC. I agree, I hope they do some retired jersey-like ceremony for him. I’ll never forget his voice calling the Cavs games.
This is tough to watch. I met Fred shortly after the Cavs won the championship, and he came across very genuine and kind. I still can’t believe he is gone.
Fred was one of the best things about the Cavs. So sudden. I can’t really believe he’s gone. What a wonderful man and such a big part of the Cavs experience.
The clip of the end of the Championship game is so great. I do wish there was a way to get the call of the entire game somehow. I have never been able to find that.
RIP. Sad.

F***** shocked. Cavs games won’t be the same. I’ll remember his positivity the most.

So heartbroken!!
What the hell!? So crazy. So sad.
Im not one for overly emoting when “famous” people pass away, but this is so out of nowhere and he was such a great guy!
Damnit.
I know what you mean. Fred was just such a great guy. This is such a punch in the gut
That is exactly how I feel today! Cavs games with the dynamic dual will never be the same. So very sad. I feel lost too
So sad. So many of my Cavs memories have Fred’s voice in them
