Live Thread: Cavs vs Pistons 2019-12-03 Off By Nate Smith Sorry guys. Thought this one started at 7:30. Winnable match up tonight. GO Cavs! Projecting The Cavaliers’ Future Recap: Detroit 127, Cleveland 94 (or, Triptophan Blues)
I STILL DON’T UNDERSTAND THE LACK OF MIN’S FOR ANTE ………UNLESS CAVS ARE ALREADY ACCEPTING HE IS GONE ………JUST THINK HE PRODUCES WHEN HE IS IN THERE / GOOD FOR AT LEAST 10 –15 MIN’S / GAME
THAT FALLS DIRECTLY ON THE COACH / STAFF—-IF KLOVE IS NOT GETTING HIS TOUCHES —–THERE SHOULD BE A TIMEOUT AND COACHING BEING DONE ……THESE YOUNG PLAYERS HAVE TO LEARN THIS
Drummond, Griffin, and Rose have the most shots for Detroit.
Love has 7. Sexton, TT, Porter, Clarkson, and Garland all have more.
Our most efficient offensive players are Love (also our best offensive player) & Nance. They should be getting more touches/shots, period.
Having said that, the D is terrible.
THINK WISEMAN IF WE ARE FORTUNATE TO GET # 1 PICK——….LIKE I MENTIONED EARLIER THIS WEEK—–NEED TO START WATCHING MORE COLLEGIATE BALL / START EVALUATING
Hu
Mil
I
Ation
Awful.
Anthony, Wiseman, Edwards.
WHAT ‘S UP WITH ANTE ONLY 1 MIN–( IS HE IN BEILEIN’S DOG HOUSE –OR KOBY TELLING NOT TO PLAY HIM ??? ) …..KLOVE ONLY 7 SHOTS ??……….DON’T CARE IF THESE ARE YOUNG PLAYERS OR NOT / THEY ARE PROFESSIONALS—THERE SHOULD BE A ROYAL ” ASS CHEWING ” AFTER THIS GAME ——-IT’S TIME TO START GROWING UP
He’s honestly just not a very good NBA player, but you would think if there was any team he might match up against, it’s this one…
Is it too early to start talking about draft picks? Dismal game.
Dismal is the word, alright.
JUST TUNING IN ………AND JUST TUNING OUT …………SO MUCH FOR 3 DAYS OFF TO RE-ENERGIZE / PRACTICE ……” MORE BEER PLEASE “
I am out. Cavs didn’t show up on d.
Later John B
That sequence was embarrassing. Full shot clock use to try to penetrate, fail, easy shot at other end.
Cavs are going to have plenty of nights like this.
They come out this unfocused and soft on d, yep.
I expected the Pistons to win this fairly easily, but it’s been men against boys…
Pretty much. Very soft. No focus or physicality.
Cavs perimeter d looks like the browns o line. Holes everywhere.
Cavs d bad in all facets. No physicality, no rotations or lazy rotations, not getting back in transition, losing people in transition, sieve like perimeter d, etc. Unfortunate. This should have been a competitive game at home. Not focused after the couple days off.
Why do we have a female assistant coach?
Why not? She is apparently very qualified. Becky Hammon is Pop’s top assistant.
Because this is a men’s league?
What makes her qualified? She’s never played on the floor. Almost every other coach has some sort of experience there.
So no male coaches in WNBA?
Come on. Even this Cavs team could beat any best WNBA team.
What does that have to do with bball knowledge? Knowledge of xs and os? Nada, zip, zero. For instance, you could have given the 2017 warriors to a high school coach and they would have destroyed.
I don’t care about gender. You know bball, you know bball. Like I said the best coached/run org in the last 25 years has a woman as the greatest coach in nba history’s top assistant.
Beilein also never played a minute on an NBA floor. Pop also never played a minute in the nba. Just as appropriate to ask why we have a first time NBA head coach who never coached in a professional league here or in Europe, played for Wheeling Jesuit in college, and obviously also never played a minute of D1 let alone in the NBA.
I’m talking about the Cavs. The warriors are coached by a guy who played with jordan. Popp played MENS basketball for four years in college and then some other events. I’m not here to hate on women. There is a legitimate question to be raised about gender in sports even though we live in the androgynous sexless society now apparently. I think cleveland could find someone more experienced and knowledgeable. And it’s the same reason your boy pop just got quoted as saying: “I’m not here to make history.” Let’s have another season of 40 point game losses and keep… Read more »
And before CNN shows up at my door trying to put me in jail for being a sexist, I’m simply saying the Cavs organization could have hired on someone that played the game and wants to coach. I am sure women are capable of coaching. I just think players-moved to coaches have a better eye for the game.
Which would exclude Beilein. And disagree at least in today’s game. Not sure it makes any difference. Kidd, Del Negro, Danny McHale, Byron Scott, Wittman, Hornacek, Hoiberg, Scotty B, the list of horrible coaches who were ex nba longlikely outnumbers the good ones.
Boy, first off pop ain’t there to make history, meaning he couldn’t give a rats ass about his assistant’s gender, only about getting best candidates he could go the job. If he got Hammon that tells you he thought she was extremely qualifed. Which is basically the word of God as far as coaching evaluation in the nba. Our build sucks. We’re rebuilding. That is what rebuilding is. And if you complain about coaching it starts with the top. They have plenty of experienced assistants. Assistants at her level handle development, and minor stuff. Bickerstaff is his main assistant and… Read more »
Yezus. Becky Hammond has very little to do with how bad the Cavs are, and if they think she’s qualified, I’ll take Beilein’s word for it. Having yet another ex player on this squad isn’t going to help them. I don’t understand the argument
Yeah I’m getting my tab and going home.
TT jump hook not quite as wet as it was
Not a great way to start 3rd. Defense is problematic. Garland with a nice find for a TT fts after TT cleans up a mid-range brick
Rotations 1st Garland (I guess) sub at 6 minute mark for delly, back in at 3 minute mark Sexton sub at 5 minute mark for Clarkson, back in at 2 minute mark Osman sub at 3 minute mark for KPJ Love sub at 3 minute mark for Nance or other big TT sub at 4 minute mark for other big back in at 2 minute mark 2nd Delly sub at 7 minute mark for Garland Clarkson Sub at 6 minute mark for Sexton Osman Sub at 8 minute mark for KPJ, back in at 4 minute Love Sub at 8… Read more »
Sexton loves to dribble and probe.
Tough to watch. Here’s hoping for a spirited comeback after the half.
Pistons pretty much getting whatever they want on O…
Tissue paper.
Beileins rotations make no sense to me.
Beilein waited too long to put love back in. Not that he will make much of a difference now. Also where the hell is Osman?
He was questionable with an injury coming in. Perhaps a tweak.
That would explain it.
Pistons might put up 70 this half.
Tissue paper. Just bullied on drives, a step behind or losing guys on perimeter.
Just tissue paper d
Boy Clarkson died on that Galloway drive
This unit is scoring but is discombobulated on d.
More good downhill drives by kpj
Boy delly.is hopeless from beyond 5 feet nowadays.
Yyyyeah. Sad to see.
Yeah, it’s crazy…I know he remade his shot, but he used to be a pretty good three point shooter…ugh…
Delly struggles with fast guards
Loved that drive from KPJ…missed the tough shot, but that’s his strength…
Agree always want him going downhill
Second unit brought them back. Still figuring out how to close qtrs and sustain momentum.
Good find from Porter JR on TT pin in transition.
Ugh, Griffin hits a contested buzzer beater three…
Clarkson pulling us back
And Sexton, guess my stream is behind. One of the best anticipatory steals I have seen from Sexton
15-0 Cavs run!
TT gives Cavs the lead…
Sexton pretty active game…
Pistons tearing it up under the rim and from 3 on non-existent closeouts.
Giving Griffin too much room from 3…he can hit those practice shots at volume…
Yeah maybe find him in transition and on kickouts.
Love passing well. Hitting some shots. Some porous d thus far.
Heck of a drive and finish by Sexton. As I thought before that draft, Sexton would be a hell of a player if he were 6’4″-6’5″…he’d probably be almost a score at will guy if he were 6’5″…as it is, he gets into the trees with nowhere to go too often…
He and Garland haven’t figured out height. They both get blocked a ton.
