The Cavs are back in Miami, where they haven’t won since Shaq was a Cav. In the Cavs’ previous game against the Embiid-less Sixers, Cleveland looked competent for a half and then collapsed when Kevin Love hit his minutes limit as they raced towards a 20-point loss with a lot of mind bending rotations including Collin Sexton playing in garbage time. I’m pretty skeptical that the Cavs are trying to field their most competitive teams. With Larry Nance Jr. out for an “Illness” for the second straight game, Jarrett Allen missing his second straight with a concussion, and Dylan Windler out due to a knee, the Cavs are down to 10 active players, including minutes restricted Kevin Love and Matthew Dellavedova.

The Cavs also elected not to sign Quinn Cook after his second ten day contract ended. With Delly back in the fold, and Quinn not exactly looking like a world beater, it’s certainly not surprising. With 13 roster spots, I’d love to see a flier on Emmanuel Mudiay, and to get Lamar Stevens’ two-way converted to a full NBA contract.

For Miami, Andre Igoudala, Gabe Vincent, and KZ Okpala are out.
