Live Thread: Cavs @ Heat
2021-12-01Good evening CtB!
Tonight the Cavs travel to South Beach to take one of the Eastern Conference’s most formidable foes, the Miami Heat. The Heat have had the Cavs’ number for a long while, winning 9 out 10 previous matchups. Luckily for the Cavs, they should be coming into the game healthier after today’s report that Bam Adebayo will be out about six weeks after thumb surgery.
The Cavs will be again missing key reserves Cedi Osman and Dean Wade, along with Collin Sexton. The Heat will be missing Bam, Markieff Morris, and possibly Jimmy Butler and Dwayne Dedmon. They should get back Tyler Herro.
With Bam out, look for the Cavs to try and dominate the paint with their plethora of big men. On the defensive end, the task for the Cavs will be containing Butler, Herro, and Lowry from getting into the paint and collapsing the defense for easy kickouts or oops to the bigs.
Tip off is scheduled for 7:30PM ET, and will be broadcasted on Bally Sports Ohio/Great Lakes, GO CAVS!
Mobley breaks down film of himself on the cavs with Mike Schmitz. Good video.

as my former bro-in-law used to say.. “you sell the sizzle. not the steak”.. cavs fans must be on their knees at least once a day thanking the universe for cade and jalen.. yea verily, detroit and houston bought the sizzle.. leaving the prime rib for the 216..
klove must be asking himself on a regular basis “am i dreaming ? is this really happening ?” no pressure.. big checks rolling in.. more wins than losses.. total chill city.. njoy bro
Was wondering the same. Isn’t this the perfect situation for him? He comes off the bench and rips up the other team’s bench players. No pressure to win a title because he’s already a champ. Get paid to be a key vet on a quickly rising team. And the city loves him. Not too shabby.
Forgot to mention, the Cavs must be thinking about keeping Love now, right?
I certainly would be. Him and Rubio both. Let us take this team out for a spin & see what it can do. It is not like we are in the tax, or a likely max FA destination. We do not have to get rid of guys for any reason. Of our top 12 guys (Garland, Sexton, Markannen, Mobley, Allen, Rubio, Okoro, Cedi, Love + Stevens, Wade, & Windler), everyone is signed thru next year save Sexton & Rubio. And YB is restricted. Sure, we have some holes. Wing sized guys who can shoot &/or score. We also have our… Read more »
It would be a huge bummer if they traded Love just to get rid of his salary. He’s actually making a big difference off the bench and they are in a position of luxury where many of their young players are still on rookie contracts. YB’s injury may be a blessing because it’ll minimize the odds that the Cavs screw up and give him the max (he’s 100pct not worth it).
Cavs might well be a top FA destination. A great young team that will make a deep run as is.
Suppose someone like Luka can opt out of a losing situation. Going to the Cavs would be a good chance to accumulate some mantel hardware while still in his prime years.
stranger things have happened, although not frequently
especially after the disgrace of the summer games.. yeah.. he’s on cloud 9..
