Live Thread: Cavs @ Pistons

The Cavs have traversed across Lake Erie to the Motor City to take on the Pistons in a mid-season clash. The Cavs will be looking to build upon their hot streak and keep their names in the running for the top seed in the Eastern Conference playoff standings. The Pistons are looking to find some consistency and growth, building upon the improved play of their top pick Cade Cunningham.
The Cavs will be missing the trio of Ricky Rubio, Collin Sexton, and Lauri Markkanen, but all other guys should be a “go.” Detroit will only be missing Jerami Grant.
This game will be a mental challenge for the Cavs. Can the Cavs handle their business and get to garbage time in the fourth quarter? Or will they cheat the game and have to slog it out until the end? These are the new challenges of a good team seeking to be great.
Tip off is scheduled for 6:00PM ET and the game will be broadcasted on Bally Sports Ohio/Great Lakes, GO CAVS!

Haven’t seen any other Pistons games/highlights this season but Cade made some big time threes at the end of last night’s game…
He can shoot it, no doubt. He’s solid all around, but his shot may be his best asset.
I almost never blame the refs — and we deserved to lose this game anyway given our free-throw shooting and letting the foot off the pedal — but the officiating was awful in this one and we probably still woulda eked it out with a fair shake. Whatever. One game. Learn and move on. Hope it makes them bring the fire tonight.

Missed this one. i guess I’m glad? Box scores look identical except they got 9 more shots up and we made 5 fewer free throws in the same amount of attempts.
Rough one. JB waited way too long to bring back cedi and Rondo looked absolutely forked. Team did not handle success well in aggregate or the moment.
Will be interesting to see how patient JB is with Rondo.

ehhhhhh, I’m giving Koby the benefit of the doubt here. He’s pulled off lopsided trades. Who knows what might be cooking.
This game really showed lack of depth/secondary playmaker. JB should never have had Rondo in there to close but even still Cavs should make a move, even if a small one. I believe we can trust Wade with spot minutes, I want to be able to with Stevens/Windler but yeesh bad tonight
No idea why Rondo was in there down the stretch, he was killing them, even aside from a couple of terrible shots that were basically airballs.

To add to the bullshit loss we let Cunningham get a triple double and add heat to a tight ROY race. I need a rage time out.

K Love 8 points, 0-4 from 3 point, -10 plus minus Windler -8 in just under 4 minutes. I guess JB was looking for offense, I’m not sure Stevens played in the second half. Regardless of numbers Stevens brings energy and toughness, both of which the Cavs were in short supply tonight.
If Love and Cedi have off nights from deep, we struggle to score.
