Summer League Live Thread: Cavs (1-2) vs. Pistons (2-1)
2022-07-14The Cavs wrap up their “regular season” Summer League schedule this evening with a date against the Detroit Pistons. There’s no telling how the Cavs coaching staff will handle the second game of a back to back in Summer League. It wouldn’t be surprising to see rookie Ochai Agbaji sit, maybe for the rest of Summer League especially after putting together a solid performance last night. Jaden Ivey will surely be out because of his twisted ankle.
The game will be nationally televised on NBA TV at 5:30PM Eastern time, as well as streaming on ESPN3. GO CAVS!

I saw the Athletic has a player Tier ranking system out, top 125-150 players. I do not subscribe, any word on where the Cavs guys rank?
Have to believe DG, JA, and Mobley are tops. But would not be surprised to see Love, Rubio, Markkanen, LeVert, and/or Sexton in there as well.
DG,JA, and Mobley are all in their Tier 4 (41-84). Love, Lauri, and LeVert are in Tier 5 (85-125).
Disrespectful ranking of DG and JA.
More specifically, those 3 are in 4a, which in this particular ranking means 40-60

I get him NOT playing. Barnes & Cade are not playing. But Giddey is. Kuminga is Moody is.
I just think you should take advantage of every opportunity for the young fellow to develop & improve.

I disagree on Mobley. Not worth the risk. Also I’m not sure how helpful it would really be.
Agreed, it’d be cool to see him get pure PG reps but can’t risk injury in meaningless games.

I’m fine with it as long as nothing terrible happens (haha…)…I have rarely seen a rookie in summer league who so perfectly lives up to expectations, both good and bad, as Agbaji. I’m pretty confident that he can be a helpful player for the Cavs this season. One thing for certain – he has an NBA wing body. He’s 22, yeah, but he’s built.

If Mitchell goes direct to the Knicks, 3 team deals are gonna be hard to come by. I cannot think of another all-star level guy for the Nets to get in return for KD.
