I get that life is busy and listening to a 2 hour podcast can be hard to fit in. But CtB always brings the content if you are patient.

Conversely, is there really a team out there willing to give Irving a multi-year max deal.
Most likely outcomes:
1) They call his bluff/don’t trade him/can’t get crap for him. He plays out the season & they have another negotiation in the summer. He could still walk, re-sign, or do a sign & trade in summer.
2) They don’t trade him and he pouts & quits on them. He most likely walks here but a S&T still possible. He never plays for Brooklyn again. Durant asks for a trade, again, & they start over.
3) He gets traded. KD as well in the off-season. They are stuck with Simmons.

Heard Lloyd on 92.3 and he said that the Cavs are looking to extend LeVert and Love would like to finish his career here. He also thinks they won’t look for any trades.
I am at peace with keeping LeVert. I like him better than any player he was rumored to be traded for. He is streaky, and not great at anything, but pretty good at numerous things. He seems a good dude & good teammate. He seems OK with shifting roles. I he gets hot he can carry you for a quarter or even a game.
I hope Cedi stays. He is streaky as well. But he, too can carry us for a quarter when hot. Not a huge fan of the +/- or on/off stats, especially in small sample sizes. For instance, all Cavs players have pisitive OFFs, and all but 1 (Lopez) are positive whe ON.
I tend to payore attention to the ON numbers, as OFF reflects other players. If we are significantly positive with them ON, then I am not in a rush to get rid of the guy, as we can perform well with him on court.
Which brings us to Osman. For a stat to make CLF proud, here are the ON court +/- ratings for our players.
Core 4: EM +3.4, DM +4.8, DG +6.2, JA +6.7.
Core rotation: RR +1.9, LS +2.0, CL +2.8, IO +3.5, KL +3.5, CO +7.7, DW +9.3.
Deep Bench: RL -3.8, RN +4.9.
That +7.7 for Cedi is an AWFUL big number. He has played 1,109 minutes. That ain’t no fluke. A role player who contributed to winning basketball when on court on a readonable contract is not domething I wanna let go.

I think we might look back on last night’s game as the moment this team took the step forward to being legitimate championship contenders. I’m impressed (and slightly surprised) at the Cavs response. After Spida knocked Brooks on his ass, the Cavs as a collective, metaphorically knocked Memphis on their ass. Rubio did his Rubio thing of old and DG and the young guns took it to them. I think we all learned something about them last night and they likely learned something about themselves. DEFEND THE LAND MOTHERF#@ERS!

I am not high on Reddish as a player. I think his BBIQ/awareness is not great, he does not rebound well, his defense is spotty, and has one season above 33% from deep.
However….he is 6’8″,220 and has a QO of $8.1 mil next year. He flashed in Atlanta’s run to the conference finals two years back. For Windler & a second? Might be a worthy reclaimation project.
Interesting idea, Windler is like a mythic animal at this point, there’s no reason to think he’ll ever be able to play/withstand NBA basketball, so he’s essentially worthless. Reddish is a good athlete with size. Maybe he just needs a change of scenery. No more of a risk than a second round draft pick, I suppose he’s more expensive than a second round pick, but there’s certainly more data on him than a college kid.
We are likely picking 20th or later until 2030. The last year we control our own pick in that span is 2024.
Point being, low risk reclaimation projects may be one of the few ways to get talent in the door. I think Reddish THINKS he is a good player while he isn’t, which is why I don’t want him here. But if he adjusts his ‘tude….

Has JB said anything about Love? He is no longer showing on the injury reports but is not playing. I was hoping his poor play recently was injury related (back, thumb). And that we were just trying to get him right by sitting him.
But if he is a healthy scratch, and that is a big if, then perhaps we should look for a trade. If Kev cannot be the player he was last year anymore, might we try to get SOMETHING for his expiring? It may not be much, however. Or anything we’d want to keep.
I am loathe to suggest it, as I hate to give away shooting. And he can still rebound & pass.
He said a couple of days ago that he and Love had had a ‘tough conversation’ about his minutes being matchup dependent. I have no idea how his thumb is impacting him right now, but if he can’t shoot right now, it’s hard to play him.
