Podcast 290: Don’t Worry About a Thing
2023-04-26Nate and Chris (unsuccessfully?) channel their inner Bob Marleys as they break down a Game 4 and preview Game 5. What do the Cavs need to do to win? Who is coming up short, and who needs to keep doing what they’re doing?
The guys try not to delve into negativity or the blame game, but don’t succeed too well as they discuss lineups, substitution patterns, tactics, and whether the Knicks are good or not.
Having hashed the Cavs to death, the guys break down playoff series around the league.

I made the case last season that the Cavs should shop JA, move Lauri to the 4, Mobes to the 5 and got angry responses.
Still love JA despite the lackluster performance so far, but the roster is awkward without shooters. They’re going to have to give up something, JA probably makes the most sense.
Truth hurts a lot of the time Bw! LMFAOOO
Also it’s plain to see how under-utilized Lauri was in the Cavs’ offense last year…. there was plenty more to extract out of him that JB did not.
he was used vastly more than he had been in Chicago.
Yep. His transition from Chicago opportunities to today is a story. Hence the most-improved award.
Great Pod. One of the most enjoyable ones I’ve heard. Instead of pure venting it had a good mix of what went wrong for the Cavs and what they need to do. The stats being thrown around about the Cavs pre- and post-Love (not sure if you guys were spitballing or looking up legit numbers) were downright scary. Hope they can pull it out tonight, go Cavs!
They were legit numbers, defensive rebound rate went from 7th in the NBA to 29th
7th: pre-Feb 1., which is just after Love was benched.
29th: post-Feb. 1., Cavs without Love playing any games.
He was benched January 26th, Cavs were ranked 3rd(!!!) in the NBA in defensive rebound rate in games Love was in the rotation.
Ranked 29th post-Jan. 26th, only team that was worse was Indiana Pacers, who were tanking most the 2nd half of the year.
Thanks, man.
Great podcast title, but I can’t help myself. I’m worried.
Lmfao understandable!
Sorry for the reverb/echo in this one. I tried to clean it up, but was just too much work.
