Live Thread: Cavs @ Pistons

The Cavs have hopped across to the northern shores of Lake Erie to take on another Central Division rival in Coach JB Bickerstaff and the Detroit Pistons for a SEGABABA. The Cavs took care of business against the Milwaukee Bucks 118-113 despite an MVP performance from Giannis Antetokounmpo. Tonight will represent an even greater challenge for the good guys with Lonzo Ball sitting out all back to backs this season to load manage him. Luckily, it appears Craig Porter Jr. is finding form so look for him and Tyrese Proctor to try and fill the void left by the former Laker/Bull.
On a statistical level, the Cavs have come out playing mostly mediocre ball… but the schedule has been no cakewalk with their third away game in four games to start the season, three of them against playoff opponents from last year. We know how Detroit wants to play… physical and crash the glass. Are the Cavs up to the task? Stay tuned…

If Sam plays anywhere near the level he has started at, we become VERY tough to beat.
Health and shot making/play under the spotlight are my two big worries. Rebounding 3rd.
I mean, we need to try and stay healthy. And guys like Ball, LNJ, and Wade have iffy injury histories. And Spida, DG, & JA have all been injured recently come PO time. And others who have really struggled shooting/playing well in the POs (DG, Wade, JA), even Mitchell’s 3. Ball/LNJ/Wade/Mobes are all spotty from distance regularly.
Feel like ppl forget Sam’s age. There’s little comparison here.

Not a super difficult stretch of schedule if we are short handed.
It is WAAAAY too small a sample size to start taking lineup data too seriously, but it is surely a good sign that out most used 2 man combos of our 4 best healthy players look like this:
Mitchell + Mobley: +23.2
Mitchell + Allen: +18.4
Merrill + Mobley: +20.4
Mitchell + Merrill: +21.0
Merrill + Allen: +28.4
Mobley + Allen: +33.0
Especially that last one.

Jared Allen… very uneven in the Walmart parts of the season. I think they are having him follow people more all the way out to the line, and he seems really uncomfortable or like his timing is off…think h really liked planting himself under the basket. Idk he seems really tired and unable to finish
