2025-12-23Merry Christmas eve eve, Cavs fans. On Christmas eve eve eve, Nate Smith, Elijah Kim, and Chris Francis podcapped the Cavs 139-132 handling of the Charlotte Hornets. Garbage time ruined what should probably have been a 15 point win. (Charlotte’s back door cover I’m sure has some folks up in arms – to which I’d say, “Stop gambling on pro sports. It’s dumb.”) After going through the game, (one of Garland’s best of the season). Elijah Kim started the slop talk early with his plea to ditch the Christmas Garland as we teased in yesterday’s live thread. Lots of trade proposals, some of them fantasy, some of them meh, and some of them nightmares (LaMelo might make me sell this blog) were explicated from our dreams. We covered lots of other minutia too: egg nog, New Year’s resolutions, never playing De’Andre Hunter at power forward, Christmas wishes, Dan Gilbert, off color jokes that no one but Nate got, the state of the NBA, the NBA cup, and so much more. Merry Christmas, to our wonderful readers and listeners – and even our not so wonderful ones.

lotta beer came out my nose when Eli said Payton Pritchard was legit now – no, really, has a commercial. Eli, you would love it in Australia, the sense of humour here is this kind of dry.
Also : Eli – Nate knows this, but but my wife works as a bowel cancer surgeon. Shocked to hear someone as young as you has had to face this, but stoked that you have responded to treatment. We all take our health for granted, except we toast to good health and happiness all the time. Wishing both for you, dude.

Mobley upgraded to questionable
Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays! Hope I can catch some of tomorrow’s game in between the gift opening and dinner with the fam. Nice to see the turnaround the last couple games. Seems Garland is making progress adjusting to what his body can/can’t do post toe injury. If he can make it a non limiting factor on offense, the defensive hit is more sustainable. And hopefully Kenny is clear now on not starting DeAndre and not using him for long stretches at 4.
was hoping for a quick turnaround — we will see if it continues tomorrow against the NYK.
Craig Porter, by finally shooting when open and driving the ball well (vs just looking to pass or hit the turnaround in the lane) had a complete and excellent game. You see Kenny, with more weapons, really doing a nice job balancing the skill and energy guys. Merrill and Tyson and Porter and Bryant did a great job in the second quarter just fighting for possessions and holding the line until the shots fell again (I know it was a 38-point quarter but they worked).
