The Cavs are at The Crossroads of America (and their season) for a classic trap game against Central Division rival Indiana Pacers. Donovan Mitchell is load managing tonight, so it’ll be incumbent upon Darius Garland to run the show. Both DG and Kenny Atkinson will be under the microscope tonight as they are two primary reasons why the Cavs are an NBA-worst -14.5 net rating in 2nd quarters this season. Darius Garland is a -27.0 net rating (in eight minutes on average) in 2nd quarters this season. Both gentlemen need to get their act together in the 2nd quarter.
Tip off is scheduled for 7:00PM Eastern time and will be broadcasted live on Fanduel Sports Network, Go Cavs!

CPJ has proved me totally wrong: he is still a little more reluctant as a shooter and finisher than I’d like but he’s such a fun complement to Garland. Shades of McConnell and Haliburton

Garland hasn’t been heliocentric like Trae since Mitchell arrived (and his adjustment from that role / flexibility adds to his value for us and others).
He did it last night because Mitchell was out but he hasn’t had a heliocentric game with Mitchell on the floor ever. Garland is a ball mover and has as many hockey assists as real ones.
I am working under the theory that Garland is better as a heliocentric player as evidenced by last night. But mostly, I’m just trolling you.
