The Cavs welcome the Detroit Pistons to the banks of the Cuyahoga River for a big time measuring stick game for the good guys. The Pistons are trying to prove themselves as a real title contender and class of the Eastern Conference. The Cavs are looking to continue to stack wins and climb themselves out of the play-in zone. Both teams will be going into the game with significant injuries, but such is life in the middle of the NBA season.
Tip off is scheduled for 2:00PM Eastern time and will be broadcasted live on Fanduel Sports Network, Go Cavs!

every once in a while KJG has something good. hard to say if it is like a blind squirrel finding an occasional acorn, an actual human as opposed to the usual AI slop, or what.

There is no big in the league who doesn’t get pushed around for rebounds by Mitchell Robinson and Steven Adams.
No other team presents a serious matchup issue, and I think the concern is overblown, at least as far as whether it actually is a bad matchup or causes us to lose games.
Allen has been a walking double-double against Detroit for a very long time, and the bigs put 35/18 on them in a blowout a few months ago. Duren and KAT are good players that Allen and Mobley and Wade matchup with very well.

The playoff records of those teams suggest that there’s a pretty hard ceiling on what specializing in physicality gets you in the playoffs.
Only Knicks have gone past the first round, and they only have two physical players in their rotation. (vs 23)
You always want what your team doesn’t have – I’m sure Detroit took a look at Ivey and Hollands shooting numbers with despair – but I don’t see it as a fatal problem we can’t solve.
Hart, Robinson, Anunoby, Bridges, Yabusele, KAT (13th in FTA, 2nd in rebounding), Brunson (incredibly physical on offense). Only two players? What are you talking about?
They have so many physical players they’re actually shopping Yabusele.

Mikal and OG and KAT are fine but ask a Knicks fan if they see those three (KAT and Mikal) as being physical.
Yabu can’t play.
You’re not second in the NBA in rebounding if you don’t know how to be physical. You’re not top 15 in free throw attempts if you’re not seeking out contact.

We wasted them earlier in the year and this was a one possession game. If you were Detroit you saw your weaknesses exposed as well.

It was Merrill and Garland, two of the worst rebounders in the NBA, who didn’t rebound tonight.
And in the infinite wisdom of KBozo he decided to run that lineup out against the 3rd best rebounding team in the NBA…. the cluelessness knows no bounds.
