2026-10-22Good evening and happy opening night CtB!
The Cavs are in the City of Brotherly Love for their first game of 2026-27 season against the much-hyped, LeBron James-led Philadelphia 76ers for a nationally televised primetime showcase. The good guys are flying under the radar for an Eastern Conference finalist team, with the national media ignoring or slandering Cleveland as the biggest frauds in the East. Yours truly believes last year should’ve made the Cavs hungrier for more, and to atone for flopping against the New York Knicks in the Conference Finals. Cleveland was able to secure the services of both Peyton Watson and Mario Hezonja, who have replaced the dearly departed Max Strus and Dean Wade. Let’s see what our boys do, but remember to register your complaints to Cavs Dan for his selfish, money grubbing decision to make the Cavs completely inaccessible to the ordinary fan. Go Cavs!
Tip off is scheduled for 7:00PM Eastern time and will be broadcasted live on ESPN.

Literally came just to say this guy is a joke of in game coach idk about his leadership with players or x and os but his inability to use lineups / offensive focus / zone defense / timeouts / plays out of fuxking timeouts buddy had one in his pocket today how did we lose this game where is the coaching and open the season similar to how we went out is inexcusable

Watson needs some time to figure out where he’s going and where shots are coming from.
Team makes no sense but eventually they have to get tired of letting go of the rope like this.
Harden is supposed to settle down and simplify the offense. Ran a great pick and roll with Allen to start the half, Allen barely misses and then we just stop going inside.
Some of that was Bron doing amazing as a defensive center but offensive purpose in tight moments is still our Achilles heel. Unfortunately you needed Mitchell to close it and he was buns at the end.
Actually only one made 3 among Watson, Tyson, Hezonja and Merrill (who had the sole make): 1 for 15
Harden was tough to watch in this game. Also neither Watson nor Tyson had their outside shot going at any point, including in the first half. A few 3s from either would have prevented a complete meltdown of the lead.
Cleveland,,,,,,,,,where no lead is ever safe.
I’m just happy the Cavs didn’t get Jaylen Brown this past off-season 🙃
We still lack the killer instinct to take these games. The 76ers gave it to them…and they gave it back. Ot one specific play or scheme…just a general shared belief that they should be the winners. Kenny did ride a weaker offensive lineup in the fourth…and Harden still looks shaky in crunch time.
