Live Thread: Cavs vs Thunder
2017-06-07Whelp, they say this team plays their best when their backs are against the wall. Well, there isn’t much space between the team’s trapezius and the and the chair rail. The Cavs face an interesting choice, keep running and playing the Warriors’ game (which has been pretty similar to the Cavs’ game so far this year), or slowing it down and attacking Steph Curry in the half court. Hopefully, you had a chance to read Ben Werth’s point forward, which contained tactical options for the Cavs.
Ben Werth: attack Curry, bench Shump, start Korver & stop listening to tribal groupthink regurgitated from last year https://t.co/piLhVVxhpP

In truth, everyone not named LeBron James and Kevin Love just needs to play better. J.R. Smith has scored zero points in 95 game minutes since his early basket in Game 1. Tristan Thompson has notched eight points and eight rebounds in two games. Kyle Korver was scoreless in game one. Channing Frye shot 1-5 last game. Kyrie Irving is an chringeworthy 18-45 with nine assists and seven turnovers in the finals, and Deron Williams is a mind numbing 0-9 this series.
I’ve heard all the excuses. “But they have Kevin Durant!” “They’re unbeatable!” “Ty Lue sucks!” “Kyrie is hurt!” Blah blah blah. The truth is this Cavs’ team is better than last year’s and, they’re getting beat by less than last year’s team. All the have got to throw away the excuses and play basketball. Let’s hope they’re up to the task, and that their coach isn’t afraid to make changes if what he starts with isn’t working. Beyond that, it’s all just blather. Go Cavs.
Anyone driving SUVS downtown tonight?
Freakin’ Tristan Thompson is averaging less than 4 rebounds in this series and has yet to win a jumpball.
I really believe he is Key and Warriors or is it TT himself that has completely made ineffective. I never seen this coming on how poor he has done. It’s clear just how badly Cavs need a true BIG when it comes to the Finals.
Hasn’t been able to stay on the court. Best thing TT could do this offseason is shoot 12-15 footers till they are almost automatic. Then he could at least make someone defend him.
It just sucks, you know. It just sucks. Lebron doesn’t deserve this. After all he’s been through, he doesn’t deserve this. He doesn’t deserve to lose to a team that has come to be what it is in such a cheap way. He doesn’t deserve to have team mates that are so incredibly flawed defensively.
It just sucks.
NO he doesn’t deserve this. It was like watching 1 guy who put in the work. He really did. Lebron shot better at free throws and his 3 point shot. He put in a tremendous amt of work to improve his game . What did the rest of team do better individually?
Finally, a great game. What a game, it was a 48 minutes of highlights. It was like watching all stars game where the stars actually competed. So many highlights by Lebron, Durant, Kyrie, Klay and Curry. For all those who thinks warriors unfairly have 4 all stars, Draymond didn’t play like one so far. I knew Cavs can compete, three stars plus couple of role players have good game, they have a chance to win but they didn’t play with same effort first two games.
Yep. Nice. Good game. KD and Curry are the two best players of the last five years and will be 1 and 2 of all time if they win the next five ships…(passive unstated bs). Seriously, we (or I) know this is your typical PASSiVE aggressive trolling like it was last finals until “imposter” warriors fan showed up after game 2. You were around far before the cavs won last finals (as warriors fan), despite what you said earlier this week. Oh but different email/different IP, sure, sure it is cavstheblog. Dude it is a poor showing.
I think we need a commiserate podcast. :( This was a tough one. They finally got some momentum and then Draymond did another dirty on Love. Pulled down on his shirt so hard , he fell , he got his calf stepped on . And then TT came in, pft another KD basket and we know the rest. There is just so much glaring at this team. But the biggest is really KD. Without him, this is a completely different series in Cavs favor.
