Timofey Mozgov practicing primal screaming to get relaxed for the game tonight.
The Cavs are taking a ride to the Sleep Train tonight to do battle against DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay. It will be a a test game for Timofey Mozgov, as he will be asked to stop the league’s most efficient center in Boogie.
This season DeMarcus is posting a PER of 26.33, which is the sixth best in the league, and he has been putting up 23.8 points a game to go with 12.3 rebounds. He’s also almost getting two blocks a game. He will provide a matchup issue if Timofey gets into foul trouble early on.
Fortunately for the Cavs, they have a matchup advantage almost everywhere else against the Kings. At the small forward spot, Rudy Gay can be problematic, but he can also shoot Sacramento into oblivion. The Kings also are giving up 103.9 points a game, while the Cavs a giving up 99.8 right now. The Cavs just win on paper automatically, right.
The Wine & Gold are without Shawn Marion, LeBron James, and Iman Shumpert tonight. With any luck, the Good Guys will grab their second win of the year and prevent the Kings from going above .500 for the month of January.
On a side note, let’s hope this game has lots of dunks, because these west coast games are a pain to stay awake for and each mention of the Sleep Train arena is going to put me at risk of falling asleep.
I’m saying the Cavs win this game 124-110. However, Boogie is going to post the line of the night by scoring 35 plus points.
And, I had this thought too. The Cavs of the past two weeks has felt like last year’s team. I don’t expect them to win anymore and that’s making me depressed.

Why do the announcers think that Mike Miller is good. I mean, I’ve only really watched him when he’s been on the Cavs, but when he’s on the court it’s like playing 4 on 5.
He’s a zombie. He’s clanked some wide open 3’s this year – hard. Enough bricks to redo my driveway.
His 3pt % is misleading, he usually hits one or two once the benches have been cleared but I bet his percentage when it actually matters is like 15%.

IMO Coach Blatt is trying to ignite his players to play with energy but they just don’t respond to him. I think to be a good coach in the NBA you need to be an a** hole from time to time and he is just to soft IMO.
Might as well pass out the doobies during timeouts and go into “chill mode”. In fact our defense is one big Cheech and Chong “chill mode”!
I am about to lose it! 39% shooting 13 freaking turnovers to only 4. We suck against lesser teams and most teams. Go buckeyes

I don’t know if it’s Cleveland – or what – how is it that cleveland gets shooter after shooter after shooter who show up and can’t shoot! Miller and Jones are absolutely awful. Love can’t hit his open jump shots, and JR Smith is 2/9 tonight. But this goes all the way back to Donyell Marshall and Wally Szczerbiak . Kyrie feels he needs to be aggressive when Lebron is out. Unfortunately “aggressive” to Kyrie means “get your shots up”.
Even the Kings TV guys are saying the Cavs don’t play with enough energy.

Kevin love doesn’t just seem overrated, he is overrated. It is what i was always afraid of and unfortunately my fears have come to life. He was a stat stuffer on a bad team whose system was tailored to him specifically. System is the key word. He is a system player who is alnot a game changer outside of a system that suits him. this is tough to swallow as we gave up a nice bag of gold coins for Mr. Love.
Yes we did, to be honest i hated the wiggins trade as i think we could have waited til the trade deadline and gotten him for cheap but we are stuck now. Hopefully Blatt figures things out soon. I don’t think he has done love any favors with the way he utilizes him. I know this has been harped upon, but why not run the offense thru him in the high post at least while lbj is out.? That seems to be one of the ways that the wolves really made the most of his skillset.
I was within a hair of buying season tickets when we drafted Wiggins. Some personal health obstacles came up that prevented me from committing the cash. I loved the prospect of adding Lebron and building that team with Wiggins/Bennett future draft picks and cap flexibility. All of which are gone.

It’s too bad Shane Battier retired, I’d rather have him than either Miller or Jones. Which is not to say I want him.

They’ve often definitely been less than the sum of their parts this season, with or without LBJ. I really thought they would come out and dominate the Kings given this is a game they really need, and you’d think Kyrie and Love would have enough pride to be annoyed by all the talk they can’t beat anybody until LBJ gets back. Oh right, they are used to losing.

Kevin Love -18 for the half, by far the worst on the Cavs. You know how sometimes plus minus is misleading? I don’t feel like this is one of those times.
One does wonder about an alternate universe where the Cavs sign and traded Bennett to the Lakers for Pau and kept Wiggins.

JR Smith is the only Cav who can make entry passes. He should be the designated entry passer.
A big part of the problem with this team is that they tend to play down to their competition, energy level is much lower than against GSW. I don’t think even LBJ is the cure-all to that since he was equally guilty of that when he played.

Pretty brutal defensive stretch for the Cavs aside from that block. The way to watch the Cavs this year is to turn the games off after the first quarter.

Cousins is like watching a giant James Harden. I’m not saying that is an aesthetically pleasing thing.

When the Cavs begin to limit opposing teams to at least 24 points per quarter that’s when they are going to win easily.
Cavs are seeing the good JR so far since the trade. Only 2 points in the quarter (1-2), but he’s working hard on D.
