Live Thread: Cavs @ Raptors
2022-10-19Good evening CtB and welcome to the 2022-23 NBA season!
The Cavs hopped over Lake Erie to the shores of Lake Ontario to take on the Toronto Raptors to open their 2022-23 NBA season. The Raptors will certainly be one of their main adversaries to securing a playoff birth at the end of the year, so the atmosphere should be absolutely rocking with a playoff-like energy.

The mystery is no longer, Caris LeVert will be the starting small forward. I think J.B. made the right call and now it’s up to Caris to secure that bag. The one thing to watch for tonight? How about Evan Mobley’s Rookie of they Year snub revenge tour. This is the kind of situation in which Mobley thrives. LET’S GOOOOOOO!!!!
Tip off is scheduled for 7:30PM Eastern time and will be broadcasted on Bally Sports Ohio, Go Cavs!

We are integrating new pieces, with two new starters. And are missing Rubio.

A game the Raps should win and we are up 6 despite DG playing like pants and getting gouged by Trent.

Sloppy, especially DG. Somewhat expected for the first game. But down 11 to up 6 is a great quater.
Spida, Cedi, Allen really rocking it. Love & LeVert & Mobley also good.
Offense came out like game busters in the 2nd quarters, hope DG is OK and that Trent gets suspended for the rest of the year
Great 2nd quarter. Cavs have spurtability. Thought JB was a bit all over the place with rotations.
Looks like:
1) One of DG/Spida at all times.
2) One of Allen/Mobley at all times.
3) 9 man rotation. No Lopez or Neto. That could change if we face teams with bigger Cs. But Toronto is not a good matchup for big Cs.
Definitely wouldn’t mind Neto but I can live with the 9 man.
Great close to the half. Cavs look hard nosed. I think Spida toughness is contagious.
