The Cavs are looking to tread above water against the Celtics for East supremacy as well as integrate new acquisition De’Andre Hunter from the Atlanta Hawks. For the Wolves, they are coming in hot and looking to make their move up the Western Conference standings for some home court advantage. So the Cavs know they have their hands full tonight. Something’s got to be funky with Bamba. His numbers aren’t great but they’re not bad and he’s 7-2 and can block shots, rebound, and shoot threes. I have a feeling there’s a story that was buried. Also put Robert Covington on the list, Lonnie Walker, and the Aussie I linked the other day
There are certainly guys who were good players but may just be done now. Covington, Thad Young, Reggie Bullock. All are FA’s.
Kelley Olynyk could get bought out. I know he is personna non-grata here. Not a great defender. But he can shoot and space the floor. I’d take him, if available, over Wood. Though it is a low bar.
Oh for sure. Walker and Bamba are mid 20s tho.

caught the last 10 min or so of NYK – Pacers. Kincks were up 8, but the Pacers utterly inept and couldn’t score, and pretty soon the lead was 20+. IDK how they are in fourth place.
When you see other teams it’s easy to see hownwe are special. NYK looked quite good last night but they were largely non competitive vs Boston as compared to us and I was left unimpressed
Turner was out with a neck injury.

The Cavs’ most-used lineup, Garland-Mitchell-Wade-Mobley-Allen, are outscoring opponents 120-114 per 48 in 197 minutes total.
The 76rs are the absolute least ironic result of the process. Tanking for embiid only to get rid of the process architect and end up with Paul George…the eternal reward for teams that think he is the answer until they have him…and maxey is basically lemelo with slightly better team mates. Send maxey to Indiana or San Antonio or the clippers or the nuggets to maximize his impact…but he isn’t the world beater his stats say he is. Somebody has to score on every bad team. He is the Carlos boozer of the 76rs.

For a few months on a make-good deal, it’s worth thinking on. If a better opportunity arises before he gets healthy, take it, but otherwise he might be worth a flier

I just want to mention what a great game Mobely had. It isn’t like he hasn’t had some great games this year. But this is the first one I can remember against a great defensive C.
In years past, both EM & JA, and the team in particular, seemed to all but concede the paint and become too perimeter oriented vs great defensive C’s (Gobert, Robinson, Davis, Zinger, twnlo-kneed Embiid). Nice to see be aggressive & efficient vs Gobert. And JA got Davis earlier.
I didn’t see the game, but I wonder if there were some things Mobley and the coaching staff worked on after the bad showing versus Porzongis, that he utilized last night against Gobert.
Also, Gobert looked absolutely cooked last night. like he was playing in cement boots. Worst I’ve ever seen him

Those were some tough shots by Mitch.
Last year Mobley would dribble with his back to the hoop. He’d get doubled, make a bad pass, lose the ball. This year, he just barrels straight to the hoop. Much better.

Hey. Limited minutes bench players should be aggressive. As long as those fouls are ones of aggression and “good” fouls, I’m fine with it. It’s much easier to dial that back as you get more minutes than it is to learn aggression. Nance and Harty were two players with high foul rates when they were young and they figured it out
